In the beginning of this video you said that the "XH A1S" is the last of its breed. Are you saying that soon there will be a new canon Professional camcorder that uses memory cards instead of tape? If so please tell me more about this because i am going to wait until it comes out and not bother with the A1S. When will this new canon camcorder come out?
uh the hfs100 and hv30 even rival the xh a1. The xh a1 is a better cam (in terms of control and audio really) but when it really boils down to picture quality the hv30 and hfs100/10 can even match it. This guy doesn't know shit about cameras. The hfs100 has much control and quality as an xh a1 you just need to know how to use it.
Definitely not controls, come on man. I own both cameras. How about you? You're comparing 3CCd vs CMOS so low light is incredibly different. And i don't mean super low, but anything less than near perfect lighting and the XH-A1 is infinitely better. don't get me wrong, the HF and HV series are great but when you shoot professional video you need results every time. You will not get this with a CMOS consumer cam.
i have an xl2 and as well and the xl2 is not that much better in low light than my hfs100. Low light is a very bad problem with the consumer cams but the hf and hv series really pull their weight. The battle is really 3chip vs 1 chip. The difference isn't that huge. The rolling shutter is not that bad at all, and honestly it is just as sharp as an xh a1 in "good lighting" (to clarify things). I will be soon be getting the the canon 7d which is undeniably the best cam for the money now.
