  • @shickeredo its abs, hips and back.....a very good ab workout

    keep your back flat, dont let it sag

    also, from the flat planks you can alternate to left and right planks, one arm on the ground and the other in your hip

  • okay so I do crew and this is kidda funny to me!! I can do that kinda plank as long as I want! The real change is when you get on your elbows! That I can only do for like 5 minutes before I die.

  • I normally do planks differently like with my elbows on the ground? is this as effective as the way youre doing it or is it different?

  • If I do a plank everyday will that improve my strength to hold it for a long period of time? Also will it help me with push-ups because I really can't do those I have no strength I know how to diet and eat healthy but with exercise I'm not so good at I lost around 76 pounds from 210 to 134 and I want to tighten up since everything is some what loose, Also my cellulite problem ugh HELP! =/

  • @xglennis101x yes because you use your core during pushups and the plank also does get into your shoulders when you hold it for so long, but a pushup using so many muscles it's really amazing

    its not good to do it every day, when you work out a muscle it takes 48 hours to fully heal, so do you planks for as long as you can and longer on day 1, do push ups for as long as you can and longer on day 2, on day 3 workout something that doesnt use pecs, triceps, deltoids or abs.....on day 5 start the circle again.....also throw in a run here and there, alternating short distance and over a period of time long distance

  • There are two types of planks. The one you showed, and one with elbows on the mat.

    I did the one with elbows on the mat and held it for 1 minute and 48 seconds.

    Which one do you suppose works the abs and arms more?

  • @Hoontae your plank was amazing! There is one video that beats you though... some people writing comments think they had bad form but I feel bad bc I never said a combination of form and time...

  • @SarahsFabChannel well i see your point but i just presumed you wanted good form as most of your videos put strong emhasis on that. IMHO i think you need to work harder to keep good form so getting a longer time is more difficult. Whoever you choose as the winner i will be a good sport about it.

  • @Hoontae I beleive you.. watched your push-up video.. looks like you weigh about 140.. you should be able to do the high plank all day. Maybe do the Low Plank just to challenge yourself. You are in great shape, stay there!

    For this particular challenge i will do them high just so we are all on the same playing field but i do agree high plank is easier than low. Saw your attempt, very good job! and yes shoulders give out before core IMO for high planks

  • @dsmtsi This is high plank.. low plank is on elbows and is harder, engages the core more.

  • I can only do 45 seconds XD. I usually do three sets and I'm supposed to be able to do 3 of 45 secs but I always end up going, 45, 40, 30 XD

  • @shireenba crunches build muscle but you can't see the muscle unless there is no fat, planks help strengthen your entire core so that you stand up straighter and don't stick out your stomach, and look instantly thinner

  • @SarahsFabChannel You're right. It's one of those that look much easier than it is to peform. After a minute, you really feel it. I started from when you show the form at 1:00 and did until the end of the vid to instantly comment on it. :P That's a minute and a half and I could've kept going. I estimate 2-3 mins of doing it for real.

    Any benefit to this over push ups? Push ups are less boring.
