  • can i run it on the 8gb hd version?

  • *netbook, not laptop

  • What model is that i have a Acer Aspire One Netbook KAV60 is that compatible

  • It is legit. Ive dont this to my old desktop.

  • i also have the same netbook, could i just get a brand new hard drive and load osx to that hard drive and have a solo osx installtion?

  • @mrora NO U CANT, NO MATHER WAT HARDDRIVE U USE, APPLE DESIGNED THE SYSTEM TO BE ABLE TO INSTAL ON APPLE DEVICES\

  • erhm. i got OSX Running on my Acer aspire one. But the internet is not working. I replaced the wifi card, with an Intel 4965AGN card. I think i need the drivers?: Anyboddy have a link for that ? (MAC DRIVERS)

  • I'm gonna have to try a dual boot and test out Final Cut Pro then...because it will probably run decently.

  • Can you please tell me how you got your wireless card (Atheros AR5007EG) to work? I installed osx on my acer aspire 5570 and cannot connect to the internet. Any help will be appreciated.

  • The way he got the wireless card to work is by replacing it...read the description.

  • I read it just now but i don't think i will be able to do all of that. I was trying to find out if someone knew of a kext file or driver to make the Atheros AR5007EG work. If you know of something let me know. I will appreciate it.

  • I have been looking for something like that myself...because I want to run only OSX on my AA1 but want wifi and don't want to crack the case open. Haven't found anything though...you would think someone would make this a priority since these netbooks are so popular.

  • Yeah i know what you mean. I want to run OSX in my pc too. There's gotta be someone out there that knows how to do it. Good luck. If you find out how to do it let me know please. just reply to me here ok. thanks.

  • The stock wifi on the AA1 is WORKING. I posted a video response with links to the guide and files needed.

  • hey could you pull the camera up a bit for the wi-fi and stuff

  • Would a system like this be able to run Final Cut Pro?

  • Comment removed

  • r u kiddin i gb ram 1.6 ghz.

no unless you add like 3gb more ram and overclock it to like 3.0 ghz at the very least.

  • I ran Final Cut Pro on a 1.4Ghz 1GB RAM iBook so...the video card would be the only issue.

  • Comment removed

  • OMG. Please dont take offense to this but you sound EXACTLY like my favorite comedian DANE COOK, im not joking, i love your video im in the process of doing this now but you sound like DANE COOK i had to hear video again just to make sure you said your name LOL. thanx man great video.

  • agree with the voice part haha

  • Does the integrated Wifi works?

  • WIFI card is an Atheros, which is pretty proprietary, I had to swap mine out and it works fine now in both Windows and Hackintosh

  • why waste the time with dual booting? just save it and run VMware and you dont have the fragmenting issues that come with running OS X and XP from the same drive

  • If it was a faster machine I'd agree, but with the specs on this machine and limited screen real estate, a VM just doesn't work.

Plus I prefer Virtualbox, just as good as VMware but free. :)

  • I also have a Macbook so I like the compatability. Some of my classes, some programs, and many games only work on the Whinedoze side though, which presented the problem of running both at once. It runs like a dream! I'm still working on the dual monitor on the Hackintosh side though

  • I, too have OS X running on my aspire one, and i believe it runs quicker than either XP or Ubuntu had before

  • Does anyone no the differences between the different versions such as the AB version and the Bb one?

  • ideneb is supposed to have more support for the aspire one than iatkos

  • hi how do i install mac os leopard on my acer aspire one a150

  • google it

  • See the links on the side of the video? Do some research too, there are tons of sites dedicated to this!

  • ey dude... I was shocked when you said the wireless worked... how could you do that? I have red the entire internet and have no clue how to make the wireless work. Could you post where did u get the driver? Please?

  • In the video he said that he replaced the wireless card. Listen!

  • Yes, yes... sorry, my fault. English is not my primary language.

  • how do you do that with your acer

  • iAtkos 5i

  • The dell mini 9 community have a card reader driver thats works on the acer but only sd cards in the right side card reader for me at least. The card needs to be in at boot...

  • how did you make the dash bord work

  • You're so silly.. you think maybe it looked like the screen size changed because I was zooming in?

  • seriously? do u even know what your typing? when you ZOOM the objects become BIGGER so obviously the screen size is going to change dumbass

  • are there community(ies) that sell the Acer one with XP & OSX, more memory/HD INSTALLED already?

not a hacker myself...but willing to compromise with price & labor

    thank

  • I dis this to mine and got the battery meter and everything working including audio as well

  • So there are a lot of people on here that don't see the links to the side that explain how to do it! Here is a more pertinent question.... I have a 8+8GB Aspire One, is it possible to install a 160GB 2.5" internal so I may attempt a triple boot (Ubuntu, Leopard, XP)? Also, underneath the battery it appears to have a SIM card slot... Does this mean I can use it as a phone too?!??

  • I do remember seeing somewhere how to replace a SSD with a 2.5" HD.. but I don't recall where I saw that. A quick Google search should turn it up. :)

  • no that means you have an internal modem so you can buy a sim card from a cellphone company that provides internet .

  • Mine does not have the 3G card contacts, just the slot- I found a site that explains how to put the contacts in and solder it to the motherboard, but I don't really have the time for it now.

  • hey you know you can fix the battery...I too put leopard on my aspire one and have the battery meter working

  • how long did it take for u to install ur OSX? and is it hard to install? or did it go flawless?

  • ill shit

  • If you're gonna post a pointless comment, why not post one that makes sense?....just a thought..

  • please tell me more, is 100% functionally? no cpu leaks? no lags? tell me about cpu performance, 100% hardware functionalty? thanks bro

  • hello, i am needing to install this on me and my sisters aspire one because she needs to have a mac for school (fashion merchandising) and did u just add an external DVD drive and use the normal way of OSX86 and it all worked and also im not going to open it up but im looking for a wifi usb adapter got any ideas for a good usb card?

  • Hi all.

For those asking where I got the version that I used for this, it's called Kaliway, but I can't tell you where to get it... sorry. :(

Also, if you're going to do this please buy the OS first, it's well worth it to at least pay for the OS.

I also have a desktop Hackintosh that I'm working on a video for, so that should be up soon. :)

... and yes I did buy a third copy of Leopard for that. :)

  • ring the bell and ask the bus driver lmao. who ever want the link for the file. pm me.

btw showson1 nicely done. Secondly i wll show you how to get sleep function, 2 finger scrolling and sdhc support

  • how do you install mac osx on the acer aspire one?

  • how did you install the leopard?

    where did you download it?

  • HAHAHA I'm actually looking at this vid using my AAO Hackintosh! awesome!

  • I got leopard working on my acer aspire one today. The only problems are no battery meter, no wifi (i plan on getting a usb adapter), and no sleep. Other than that its great!

  • Way to go! :)

I used the Dell DW1390 wireless card, may want to look at that one.

I did fix the battery meter, check out the first link I have in the video description.

  • hi it works. The thing uses an atheros card. i will be posting a how to soon.

  • Its prenounced os 10

  • Yes i did, It was very good, Maybe it will be possible one day to get 100% hardware support on this little guy. Im getting one for christmas!

  • Awesome! What kind of wireless card did you have to get?

  • Yep, in fact it is the HD700.. :)

  • HAHAHA!

I thought so! Mine is in for repairs, the battery started overheating and swelling.

Have you tried playing video from the HD700 on it with Osx86?

I am looking into the netbook market for a nice little OSX device.

I had a look at a few netbooks today in person today and the Acer seems the best blend.

Do you use it continually in OSX? Do you find it ok?

Have you loaded iLife on it or any other software?

  • Is that a Sanyo Xacti video camera you filmed this video with?

i can hear the zoom, just like my HD700
