@123yokomo By chassis number or just by type of the car? Bud Light version was not the same chassis. And Bud Light Jag had a little bit modified suspension for bumpier circuits in the USA plus IMSA GTP regulations had 108 db noise limit so it had mufflers unlike European versions.
I rember watching the xjr14 at Silverstone. Warrick and Teo Fabi, were just awsome, visabily faster the the Peugeot 905, and the Mercedes of the young Mr Schumacher. I have been looking for ages of videos of these cars, nd the V12 group c Jaguars. JUst awsome
That's a V6 turbo but I agree about 12s anyway. These were the fastest sports cars ever seen but by mile. Caused ALL other manufacturers to take their ball and go home. That's what stopped prototype sports car racing in the early 90s. Silverstone was the last straw when they outqualified the next fasest car by nearly 4.5 seconds !!! They lapped the entire field during the race.
Well, no offence taken, but my statement was that they WERE the fastest sports cars ever seen and they absolutely were. Had I said they are the fastest ever seen that would be arguable. They were by far the fastest then because they were virtually just an F1 car with bodywork. Again, no offence - just clarifying.
XJR-14 or Peugeot 905 might have just and just managed to drive in a F1 Grand Prix in the mid pack field... looking at qualifying and fastest race laps from same year and same track.
Actually if the yardstick is F1 - then early '70s Can-Am cars were the fastest. Those cars and contemporary F1s could have driven on the same race, top cars were separated by only some tenths, at least at Mosport and Watkins Glen.
Yes, these cars were built by TWR. The chassis were supplied to mazda but not the ensuing development. I think TWR built the whole car for Mazda but they used Judd V8s instead. The chassis were then used as the Porsche Lemans cars which won 96 & 97 Le mans. One of the original Jags actually bacame a porsche and anoither chassis was built. They were open topped cars.
The Mazda was equipped with a V10 and did manage to lead LeMans '92 if I remember correctly. They spent far less than Toyota or Nissan and achieved so much more.
fuck diesel shit and fuck how ugly the cars are today

"These were the fastest sports cars ever seen but by mile"
Not really. modern LMPs would be easily faster, even with a lot more restrictions in regulations. that's just how racing car evolution works. :)
instead easily the most exciting sportscars - definitely yes.
