A custom crashes are nice for recording, but ultimately very bland sounding. I prefer Zildjian's K, K custom, and A series. Sabian's HHX and HH (as well as the natural finish AA and AAX series) are some of the most musical and gorgeous cymbals out. Listen to the HHXtreme crash or the HHX Manhattan Jazz Ride and you'll see what I mean. The A Custom Hats this guy uses just sound brittle and harsh. Ugly.
