I cry as I watch this because it is a reminder of all the many terrible things we have done to this Earth and all the amazing creatures we share it with.
This is such an amazing video! Absolutely love it! Thanks for posting. Swimming with whales is unlike any other experience in the world...amazing and breathtaking! You might enjoy my recent novel, Eye of the Whale, which I actually did close encounter research for during the making of the story! Thanks for bringing such fantastic underwater visuals to the world above water!
what a touching video i cried...so beautiful and moving. whales are such beautiful magnifient creatures that should not be hunted or killed, they should be left untouched. such gentle giants and beautiful music. thank you for posting this lovely video.
Thank you so much for sharing this! And all the blessings to the Cousteau Divers and remembering the old Jaques Coustea. This video is indeed divine...
This video is absolutely divine. I got goose bumps watching it, especially the interaction with the baby and the mother whale. These beautiful and graceful creatures deserve to be fiercely protected.
Thank you for posting this as a video response to Spirit of the Plants. What an honor. (smiling)
I just love whales. In Holland we had a band, BZN, and they made a song about the whales, donated for WNF. Check them out, i'ts an emotional but beautifull song. On youtube: BZN-Paradise.
I am currently vacationing in Maui, Hawai'i and I went whale watching yesterday, they are the most beautiful creatures you can imagine. A group of three whales were following our boat, a mother, a little calf, and an escort (a male that is not the father, but follows the mother and child in order to protect them and get in good graces with mommy for next mating season.) this video shows how beautiful and graceful they are, but they are also very playful, especially the young ones!
"In order to stabilize world population, it is necessary to eliminate 350,000 people a day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it." — Oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, as quoted in "The Courier," a publication of the U.N. Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (U.N.E.S.C.O.)
"A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal." — Ted Turner of C.N.N., as quoted in the "McAlvany Intelligence Advisor," 6/96
The dolphins and whales carry the vibration of unconditional love to this planet. There is a gray whale off the coast of Oregon. call ed "Scar back". She has a huge chunk of her back blown away by harpoon, yet she still comes to the whale watching boats with love for humans. The whales are trying to awaken humans. Invite them into your dreams to teach you in ways beyond words and the mind.
Remarkable an amazing gentle giant yet so graceful in their moves. I have always admired the whale, I am totally against whaling. Your video compliments of the Cousteau foundation confirms one thing we can live together with these amazing creatures and perhaps they can teach us something.
wow! Before cpt Jaques Cousteau and his crew came along we had never seen films like this. No one really had any idea about the things we were/are in danger of losing. Back in the sixtys when that footage was shot the humpback was still considered fair game for any whaling nation. The crew of the calypso went a long way to change all of that. we have a great deal to thank them for.
That was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It's incredible how gentle and graceful these wonderful mammals are. I think making this video available does a lot to underline the value and importance of protecting the oceans and their inhabitants from harm. Thanks so much.
I have no problem with a native american tribe doing it. They usually have tons more respect for the whale. It is incredibly difficult to catch one. when they do. They never waste anything and they can use it to feed all the families in the tribe for 3 years! It's the other whaling that I don't condone.
i went to an anti whaling gig recently and the spokesperson from a whale and dolphin foundation said some rfatehr interestings. unfortunatly the ignorant pigs who talked over him when he was talking made it ahrd to hear. i almost cry at how beutiful this video is and how sad it is that we may lose them if we dont stop whaling
¡Amazing! Thank you for uploading this. I have seen it many times before. No doubt Jean-Michel inherited the talent and heart of his father. This kind of people makes the world worthy of be living in it. Thilo

This is why whales are not food. No legal whaling! I oppose the IWC plan for legal whaling "to save whales."

Why does Iceland continue to kill whales?
-They do it in a pathetic attempt to hold onto the past so that they can continue to identify with their bloody legacy of whaling.
-It is a blood sport to them and a way of indulging in the sadistic pleasure of killing whales and thumbing their noses at other nations.
-Killing whales is the pursuit of little people with small minds with a lust to destroy creatures more intelligent and more beautiful than themselves.
