@vcp430 CLOSE, but Its a RB-250, the 150's didnt have a tone ring or binding around the peghead and this one clearly has a tone ring and binding around the peghead. Plus the 150's are super rare and they arent too many around. The 150 was a the middle of the line banjo, it had the inlay of a RB-250, but had a tone hoop like the RB-100, instead of a tone ring. This 250 bowtie looks like it has a flathead ring, which would put it between 61-67. If it has a archtop ring it coud be a 50's.
Yeah that's def a 50's if you look you can see that it has the mastertone label and the bow-tie beneath it. They stopped doing by the early sixties to conserve the last piece of inlay. haha They really went all out right?
I think that's an RB-150, which were made in the 50's and early 60's, with the bowtie inlay.

Is that a flathead? I had a '59 that had the last fret bowtie, but it was an archtop. Wish I had it today.

The kid is trying to figure out how to incorporate a banjo into hip hop. Afterall Bluegrass is younger than rock and roll. Awesome banger pops! :)
