@StrummerDude27 The may be no Israeli military in Gaza its self but they still control the land borders ( apart from Rafah), the airspace and sea access. They control what is allowed in and out. In fact things have got worse for the Gazans since the so called `disengagement`. Things have also got a lot worse for the people of the Westbank, Israel settled lots more settlers in the Westbank than they pulled out of Gaza. Under international law the settlements are illegal.
One issue at a time - for now we are talking about Gaza. We will get into the West Bank issue when we clarify the conflict happening now in the Gaza Strip.
"The Jews are encouraged to forsake the Torah and lead a secular lifestyle."
This is simply incorrect as I have many relatives, close and distant, currently residing within the borders of Israel who practice their religion however they wish without any annoyance from the government. In fact, some neighborhoods where there is an overwhelming majority of religious people the government specifically provides a "no-crossing for cars" on the Sabbath there.
@StrummerDude27 It is an occupation not a war and under international law an occuping force cannot hinder medical care, food and eduction for the people that they occupy. They are not allowed to expell or move the population or stop freedom of movement, freedom to worship etc. Collective punishment and destruction of property is not allowed. They also have to protect cilvilians against the effects of war. Unfortuatally Israeli does not comply with this.
In 2005, in my first book, KEEP HOPE ALIVE, I wrote, through the fictional character Terese:
“Christ, have mercy! These teachers and kids trying to get to school are threatened and hassled by these erratic and illegal settlers, and a trigger-happy IDF! What a daily life to have to contend with just to get to school! What are we teaching these kids, when they grow up looking up the barrel of an Israeli soldier’s weapon of destruction?”
Next, she opened a press conference summary of September 6, 2005, from Dr. Mustafa Bargouthi, Palestinian National Initiative report regarding the aftermath of the “disengagement,” and the bottom line was more settlers, more walls, and more corruption in the PA.
He stated that ‘Ninety percent of security violations in Palestine are committed by security forces and intelligence. These forces must be disciplined; the rule of law and an independent judiciary must be installed.
And] it is estimated that 30 percent of the 160,000 salaried government employees do not attend work of any kind. This kind of corruption and nepotism must be ended.
Terese moaned when she read about the violations since the cease-fire agreement of February 8. “Christ, have mercy! Seventy-five Palestinians, including seventeen innocent children, and fourteen Israelis, including two innocent children, have been murdered.
Two thousand Palestinians have been arrested; there have been 2,306 checkpoints imposed, and 8,700 acres of Palestinian land has been confiscated by the Israeli government!
And how can these settlers sleep at night, after attacking Palestinians 394 times since the cease-fire agreement? I feel bad about these screwed-up settlers, but they are a cult that has been allowed to get out of control.
“And, what a farce the so-called disengagement in Gaza was. The Israeli government still controls all access to Gaza by land, sea, and air. Bargouthi documented that only 25 of over 150 settlements will be dismantled, and only 8,475 of over 436,000 settlers [less than 2 percent of settlers] have been evacuated. Meanwhile, in the past year, 12,800 new settlers have moved into the West Bank--50 percent more settlers than were evacuated.”
Until Palestinians have control of Gaza’s borders and a guaranteed passage between Gaza and the West Bank, it is not a withdrawal; it’s just BS propaganda! And Gaza is less than 6 percent of the occupied territories, and that leaves 94 percent of Palestinian territories under the boot of the IDF. The corruption in the PA government and hot tempers from those under occupation are a powder keg that’s getting ready to blow!
Part 7: What’s it going to take to wake the world up to the fact that most of our problems with radical Islamist fundamentalist militants leads us back to the conflict in Israel and Palestine?
What’s it going to take before the International community gets it together and insists, in unity, upon the upholding of international law as the rule we all live by? And that includes Israel and America, too, for both ratified the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
“What’s it going to take to wake up the legions of blind U.S. Christian Zionists to their indifference to the misery of their sisters and brothers in Israel and Palestine? Their blind allegiance to the Israeli government has allowed our best friend in the world to become a big bully. What’s it going to take to break through the ignorance that hard-earned U.S. tax dollars are being used to continue the occupation and apartheid wall?”
@StrummerDude27 One Messianic publication wrote about the continuing Surveillance Society that Israel is building on its own people, with even peaceful Rabbis being mistreated and hounded. Sorry to disillusion your bubble, but a Zionist State is not a Torah Jewish State. Israel subjected 100,000 Sephardic Jews to deliberate radiation poisoning in the 1950s (see The Ringworm Children documentary).

I agree with a few points: the current israeli administration is dangerous to its own citizens as it is to the palestinians. it should be ousted for the irresponsible way it dealt with the whole blockade-flotilla business, in a way that was NOT in the best interest of the israelis. What you said about holding both sides accountable is exactly what i want as well. What i do not agree to is the animosity and downright gang-up way Israel is being addressed every time s/t happens.

@yb2517 It would be nice if Israel was actually for the Jewish people but the reality is the leaders of Israel have done secret deals with the Vatican over Jersusalem. (Google it yourself to find out). The Orthodox Rabbis opposed to Israel get targetted by the State. The Jews are encouraged to forsake the Torah and lead a secular lifestyle.

You speak as a Person of Conscience, but has the following ever occurred to you:
1. that the israeli occupation of Gaza is over and done officially since 2005? there is no Military or political israeli presence and no israeli civillians living anywhere in the Gaza Strip.
2. that the siege on Gaza is not dissimilar to the US invoked siege on Cuba 50 years ago. Since 2005, a terrorist organization with the outspoken, written agenda of annihilating Israel has been controlling gaza.
The key to stopping Israeli influence over the US Congress is to go after the Christian Churches that support Zionism by targeting them with pickets, shaming them, calling them out on their support for a murderous regime, and educating them that Jesus was a Palestinian. These political whores that pander to Israel do so knowing that these Christian slaves of Israel will deliver votes.
@StrummerDude27 Are you so racist that you believe Palestinians can be Christians or Arabs but not Jews? Who the hell do you think was in Palestine before the Euro-Jew invasion? Of course Jesus of a Jewish Palestinian.
Nope, I'm open-minded and not racist at all - if you'd prefer the opposite I know Iran and Syria are waiting for you. In relation to your comment - Arabs are generally Christians and Muslims. Palestinians are originate more or less from Syria and Jordan. The Ottoman Empire, based NOT in "Palestine" controlled the Holy Land for about 450 years or so. After them it was the British - then in 1948 it once again became Jewish. Learn your history and sociology my friend.
Oh yeah - and on top of learning history from neutral souces, I urge you to read up on International Law so you don't sound like a puppet of others just copying and pasting your propaganda. Lastly, have a good weekend my friend!
@StrummerDude27 First of all, you are merely a student, if what you say is true, not an expert in international law. I have two degrees in completely different majors, completed. In the modern world, we specialize due to the vast amount of knowledge necessary for all of the different aspects of modern life. I choose to spend my precious time expanding knowledge within those areas most important to me and I exerize the right to patronize the experts for info in other areas. (to be continued)
I never claimed to be an expert - I claimed to actively study the subject. This means I have more than a foot up on you regarding International Law and its ordinances and mandates. I too have two degrees in completely different majors completed also from Columbia University - namely Economics and Political Science with a concentration on Middle Eastern affairs.
I am convinced by what I have read from those who are paid to spend their time reading international law and arguing it, that Israeli is completely in the wrong. Moreover, a close personal friend of mine is a professional, practicing, international law expert and she also concludes that what Israel did was outrageously illegal. If your goal is to appear to "win" a debate with me, you can only do so if I choose to participate. As far as I'm concerned, (continued)
I too spend my precious time expanding my knowledge by actively studying many issues directly related to the conflict in the Middle East. Hence my undergrad degree in Political Science and soon to be my J.D. in International Law. However, when you merely copy and paste things seen on the internet, many of which are taken completely out of context, you lose sight of what is actually accurate and what is fabricated. Understand?
Based on what i've brought to the table - I think you can see for yourself. You see, the fact of the matter is, you are not interested in what they have said - you are just so anti-Israel that anything that seems to fit your agenda you will completely accept, no matter if it is fabricated or taken out of context or merely not understood completely.
In relation to your friend - I find that relationship great for my brother has been practicing International Law for over a decade now. A partner in his firm out in LA, I would call him an expert on the situation. Incorrect - you yourself said before the one word that has disproved one of your allegations altogether already - the word 'seems'. Go look back a few posts and see for yourself what you quoted. As an Attorney at Law, one must not take things at face value!
@StrummerDude27 (continued) As far as I'm concerned, the experts have already determined that Israel is in the wrong.
Finally, I have taught college courses in ethics and I believe that, beyond being in the wrong from a legal position, Israel is in the wrong from an ethical position. Israel has shown itself to be a murderous state indifferent to human life and completely arrogant about its role in the world.
Now, you can keep on strumming, but for me, this is not a form of masturbation.
Okay, just because you have taught a college course it doesn't mean you know all. Let's get that out - not all college professors know everything - yes, even the ones with doctorates. There are in fact many college professors that say Israel is completely right in defending herself and her citizens. But of course you will disagree with these professors.
"completely arrogant about its role in the world."
Do I really have to bring up that Israeli Medical Personnel were one of the first to arrive in Haiti after that massive earthquake? Above all - Israel is a sovereign state - she can choose for herself what to listen to and what to do for herself. Same thing goes for America.
I know it seems like I went all out on you, but please don't think of it as collective punishment. Listen I have to go now for the weekend but it was nice having a somewhat civil discourse - i'll be anticipating a well thought out response in terms of exactly what is illegal and under exactly what guidelines according to any law - International or not - these accusations you hold are true under. Be sure to ask your friend for me. Have a good, restful weekend my friend.
Satan loves you palestinian cock suckers! What a bunch a of losers hahaha! This is great, it is amazing how fucking stupid the world is. Osama Bin Laden supports Palestine too along with all the suicide bombers. Haha great seeing all the Neo Nazis and Satanists who worship the devil together. Gaza is the world's biggest 'Concentration Camp'. Israel is the world's only "country" with racist apartheid walls that's not even part of Israel's rogue "borders". The (Khazar/Zionists) behind Israel's moral depravities have no Mid East or Jewish roots whatsoever, yet they whine about "anti-Semitism" against SEMITE Arab cultures they murder, steal from and exploit corporate media censorship to lie about it.

@aangevallene So, why do you spew anti-Muslim hate in response to a video about Americans picketing an Israeli ship? Why not spew anti-American hate? After all, your responding to a protest by Americans.
@aangevallene haha listen you geert wilders wannabe , Hamas is the elected government in Gaza , Hamas started there armed struggle because the 60 years of opressions they had from the israeli's and because of the simple fact that israel stole there land...you say hamas hides behinds children?? well better hide behind children then shoot them point blank range like the israeli sodliers do huh? anyway u believe israeli propaganda type in youtube " idf strapping palestinian child on to armytruck "
@aangevallene and u will see who hides behind children..hamas wants genocide on the israeli's ?? WHO DOESNT WANT GENOCIDE ON THE ISRAELIS?? the whole world wants it , why ?? not because they are jews because the fact is if u LEARN SOME HISTORY the facts are that for 1500 years jews have been under the protection of MUSLIMS ,why did they need protection??because of the CHRISTIANS seeking to perform a genocide on them...anyway i will take my own thoughts as example..do i want genocide on israelis?
@aangevallene (and notice how i say israeli's and not JEWS) anyway do i want genocide of israeli's ?? YES -->why ?because they are jews? and the Quran tells us to kill all the jews&christians like geert wilders suggested NO because Quran doesnt say that BUT why then do i want to see all the israelis dead ?? :s very simple the same reason i would want to see every nazi german dead because the nazi israeli's are the most racist extremist bastard on earth who feel no remource in killing children
@aangevallene ps the so called rockets of hamas are firecrackers with no warheads in them...onle 9 people have died from them in these years..how many palestinian mostly children have died?? 9000 , 1/3 children 1/3 civilians 1/3 hamas=Legal GOVERNMENT soldiers
Here's a great song by Lila Downs about how the world picks a racial/religious/national group to designate as the "cockroach" of the day and then tries to bomb them out of existence. In an interview, she pointed out that at one time it was the Jew who was the cockroach, but today it is the Muslim and it is the US and Israel trying to destroy them.
Israel has the full right to defend itself against qurannazi genocidal people (Hamas in Gaza e.g.) and so-called 'peace' activists (murderers, terrorists) which give support to the genocidal people.
In the Charter of the qurannazi terrorist organisation Hamas stands, that the Israeli people must be annihilated.
BEIRUT (AFP) – Lebanon said on Tuesday (22/6) it would hold Israel RESPONSIBLE for any attack, in response to Israeli warnings that it would use "all necessary force" to stop aid boats planning to sail to blockaded Gaza. (Lebanon's foreign ministry said in a letter to the United Nations.)
@aangevallene They're under your bed too. They whisper in your ear at night. They put stuff in your food and talk to you through the static on your radio.
STOCKHOLM (AP) -- Swedish dockworkers launched a week-long boycott of Israeli ships and cargo on Wednesday to protest Israel's raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla that killed nine pro-Palestinian activists last month.
Some 1,500 members of the Swedish Port Workers Union began the boycott at Sweden's ports which handle up to 95 percent of the country's foreign trade. The action is planned to end on June 29.
Israel has the full right to defend itself against qurannazi genocidal people (Hamas e.g.) and so-called 'peace' activists (murderers, terrorists) which give support to the genocidal people.
In the Charter of the qurannazi terrorist organisation Hamas stands, that the Israeli people must be annihilated.
Attacking a legitimate (sea)-blockade is an act of war.
Attacking the soldiers of the blockade with deadly weapons is an act of war.
A spokesman aboard the flotilla told the Israeli navy the Israelis should go 'back to Auschwitz'. This remark is an grove insult.
Israel has the full right to defend itself against blood-thirsty 'peace' activists (murderers, terrorists) who give support to the qurannazi terror organisation Hamas in Gaza.
(1) "legitimate" - The sea blockade is illegal and therefore, not legitimate.
(2) "attacking" - The flotilla was trying to escape the pursuing IDF military ships when the IDF fired upon the flotilla and then boarded. This makes the IDF the attackers, not the passengers who rightfully attempted to defend themselves.
(3) The "Auschwitz" remark has been shown to have been added by the IDF. It is bogus.
IDF had to issue a retraction over an audio clip it had claimed was a conversation between Israeli naval officials and people on the Mavi Marmara, in which an activist told soldiers to "go back to Auschwitz". The clip was carried by Israeli and international press, but today the army released a "clarification/correction", explaining that it had edited the footage and that it was not clear who had made the comment.
@aangevallene actually that 'go back to aushwitz' bs was already proven to be lisraeli lies. that shit was never said, they made it up, and they also doctored all kinds of video footage, which they also got caught at.
its a real shame so many ppl are still watching mainstream news and taking it as truth.
the blood thirsty were the idf commandos who boarded a ship ilegally and starting shooting ppl to kill. get a clue dummy.
...“Since the ship was flying a Turkish flag it was only subject to Turkish jurisdiction,” says Daniel Machover, a co-founder of the London-based lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights (LPHR). He says that while the Geneva High Seas Convention permits warships to interfere with ships flying the flag of another state in limited circumstances, such as if the vessel is engaged in the slave trade or piracy, no such factors apply in this case.
In relation to your Mr. Machover quote - another circumstance is if the ship is sponsored by possible 'unaffiliated' sponsors. Ie. This ship was not sent by the Turkish gov't but by partially by the IHH which the Turkish police raided a few years back and found them to be affiliated with Al Qaeda.
@StrummerDude27 Yawn. Clearly you and I will never agree on this. Aside from Israel and her American slaves, the entire world sees Israel's actions as illegal and I agree with them. The next step will be war against Israel and Israel will be pounded into dust as a consequence. The United States, my country, will lose a great deal of money and soldiers due to Israel's crimes. I resent that. I believe most Americans will come to resent that.
Obviously we will never agree on this, but we at least can agree to disagree. The fact of the matter is Israel is a sovereign state. Thus, it matters not what others think about her for she can decide for herself how to handle things especially in relation to Homeland Security. The same thing is true with the US in WWII with regards to the Atomic Bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This case of Israel is no different and she has every right to take these measures.
But a blockade itself is illegal, he says, "if it will cause excessive damage to the civilian population in relation to the military advantage gained... so therefore intercepting a vessel on the high seas to support or enforce the blockade would not be lawful.”
Mr. Guilfoyle is correct - Israel deemed that militarily the advantage was greater. Furthermore, there is no food shortage going on in Gaza...Ironically, Israel sends more aid to Gaza than any other country - including more than ALL the other Arab/Muslim countries.
“The real question is: “Is the blockade itself lawful?’” says Douglas Guilfoyle, a specialist in international and maritime law at University College London. "Everything else turns on that."
Mr. Guilfoyle says that under the international Law of Armed Conflict a state that has legally established a blockade can enforce it by boarding vessels in international waters that it reasonably expects might breach the blockade...
Finally, Iran has tried to send weapons to Hamas via the watercrossing. Israeli naval ships intercepted two of these ships fully armed with hundreds of tons of weapons meant to go to Hamas to ultimately be used against Israel.
Simply put - under International Law a country is not only allowed to but required to defend its citizens. Since Hamas is a terrort entity bent on the total annhilation of the State of Israel as outright stated in its charter - Israel has every right to do anything it deems necessary to protect its citizens under International Law. The same is true for Egypt - Hamas was infiltrating Egypt illegally - Egypt wanted to stop this so they too imposed a naval blockade.
The blockade is not in accordance with international law first because Israel invokes the existence of an armed conflict, or a state of war, between Israel and Hamas. According to Israel, if there is a state of war, it is entitled to establish a naval blockade. This is not accurate for many reasons. First of all, there is a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. Secondly, Hamas is not a state.
Q. Was Israel’s intervention to stop a flotilla bound for Gaza a few days ago legal, or illegal under international law?
A. In my view it was not in accordance with international law, and this is not a matter of proportionality or not of the action itself. The action seems illegal because the naval blockade is illegal, and this was the ground invoked for Israel to legally justify the action against the flotilla.
The Daily Star spoke with renowned international law expert Marcelo Kohen to shed some light on the intricacies of the case. Kohen – both a professor at the Geneva Graduate Institute and a defense counsel regularly involved in cases at the International Court of Justice – is adamant Israel has flouted the law, but he is skeptical at the probability the state will be held to accountability by existing legal mechanisms...
Oh and as for you verifying it - pick up an International Law book and READ IT! Don't say it's against international law just because others say it is, that is called actively being brainwashed - instead learn more about the subject yourself. I find it hilarous and sad at the same time that people think they can argue about something when all they do is spew the same silly rhetoric that others who have their same goal in mind spew - pick up a frickin book and read it before!
@StrummerDude27 Screw you. I've read the arguments proving the blockade illegal. You can go on endlessly encouraging me to waste my time, but I'm staying right here, opposing Israeli lie generators.
You know NOTHING about International Law - just because you copy and paste something someone else wrote it doesn't mean you know a thing about the topic. This is not too difficult to understand...A person who majored in history knows more about history than a guy who didn't go to college and just copy and pasts things he sees on the internet.
Fraternal Greetings From Australia. All day I have been singing, Free Free Palestine Don't you cross our picket Line. Free Free Palestine Don't you cross our picket Line Free Free Palestine Don't you cross our picket Line Free Free Palestine Don't you cross our picket Line.
Furthermore, the First Amendment ONLY applies to the US and NOT Israel. Thus, America must have separation of state and church...Israel does not have to have this. Learn American and Global History, Constitutional Law first before you try arguing fool!

Their blind allegiance to the Israeli government has allowed our best friend in the world to become a big bully. What’s it going to take to break through the ignorance that hard-earned U.S. tax dollars are being used to continue the occupation and apartheid wall?”

@AntacidForTheMind

AntacidForTheMind 1 year ago
@AntacidForTheMind
I never claimed to be an expert - I claimed to actively study the subject. This means I have more than a foot up on you regarding International Law and its ordinances and mandates. StrummerDude27 1 year ago
@StrummerDude27 (continued)
I am convinced by what I have read from those who are paid to spend their time reading international law and arguing it, that Israeli is completely in the wrong. If your goal is to appear to "win" a debate with me, you can only do so if I choose to participate. As far as I'm concerned, (continued)

@AntacidForTheMind
Understand?
StrummerDude27 1 year ago
@AntacidForTheMind
StrummerDude27 1 year ago
@AntacidForTheMind
StrummerDude27 1 year ago
@StrummerDude27 (continued) As far as I'm concerned, the experts have already determined that Israel is in the wrong.
Finally, I have taught college courses in ethics and I believe that, beyond being in the wrong from a legal position, Israel is in the wrong from an ethical position. Israel has shown itself to be a murderous state indifferent to human life and completely arrogant about its role in the world.
Now, you can keep on strumming, but for me, this is not a form of masturbation.
AntacidForTheMind 1 year ago
@AntacidForTheMind
Okay, just because you have taught a college course it doesn't mean you know all. Let's get that out - not all college professors know everything - yes, even the ones with doctorates. @aangevallene Errors in your statement:
(1) "legitimate" - The sea blockade is illegal and therefore, not legitimate.

...“Since the ship was flying a Turkish flag it was only subject to Turkish jurisdiction,” says Daniel Machover, a co-founder of the London-based lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights (LPHR). He says that while the Geneva High Seas Convention permits warships to interfere with ships flying the flag of another state in limited circumstances, such as if the vessel is engaged in the slave trade or piracy, no such factors apply in this case.
AntacidForTheMind 1 year ago
@AntacidForTheMind
StrummerDude27 1 year ago
@StrummerDude27 Yawn. Clearly you and I will never agree on this. Aside from Israel and her American slaves, the entire world sees Israel's actions as illegal and I agree with them. The next step will be war against Israel and Israel will be pounded into dust as a consequence. The United States, my country, will lose a great deal of money and soldiers due to Israel's crimes. I resent that. I believe most Americans will come to resent that.
AntacidForTheMind 1 year ago
@AntacidForTheMind
StrummerDude27 1 year ago

But a blockade itself is illegal, he says, "if it will cause excessive damage to the civilian population in relation to the military advantage gained... so therefore intercepting a vessel on the high seas to support or enforce the blockade would not be lawful.”

@AntacidForTheMind
Mr. Guilfoyle is correct - Israel deemed that militarily the advantage was greater. Furthermore, there is no food shortage going on in Gaza...Ironically, Israel sends more aid to Gaza than any other country - including more than ALL the other Arab/Muslim countries.
StrummerDude27 1 year ago 16

(cont) Even if there were violations of the ceasefire, this would not entitle Israel to declare a naval blockade.

Useful idiots make a blockade to an Israeli ship because Israel has blockaded qurannazi Hamas terror organisation in Gaza.
These idiots never have heard of the 'pot/kettle' case.

@aangevallene One sign of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over while expecting to get different results. It describes you well.
The only thing you are accomplishing with your mantra is that you are convincing yourself that your delusions are true.

@AntacidForTheMind
You know NOTHING about International Law - just because you copy and paste something someone else wrote it doesn't mean you know a thing about the topic. This is not too difficult to understand...A person who majored in history knows more about history than a guy who didn't go to college and just copy and pasts things he sees on the internet.

It is all in the history books to find.

Hamas is a qurannazi organisation in Gaza and this qurannazi organisation terrorizes and murders civilians.
Cowardly Hamas-gunmen hide behind children, civilians and in hospitals.
Hamas also shoots rockets (qassam) into civilian areas.
Hamas wants genocide on the Israeli's.

Furthermore, the First Amendment ONLY applies to the US and NOT Israel. Thus, America must have separation of state and church...Israel does not have to have this. Learn American and Global History, Constitutional Law first before you try arguing fool!
