I think each Hymn symbolizes what each club values. For Madrid, it's the heroes who have played for it that do much of the effort. They have glory and honor, as this song (I think) symbolizes. For Barca, they're more team players. They're more of a common man or common players' club, hence their community singing. I'm a Barca fan, but to each his own I guess....
