@123456778ally well since "white history" as you call it is the prominent subject taught in history classes throughout the year, in schools across the country and the prominent focus anyway, do you really think there is a need for "white history month" especially since most people, including non-whites are told about "white history" more than they are told about the history of ethnic people throughout this planet?

@Alkhemist10 -would your "get over it" concept also apply to Jews "getting over" the tragedy of the Holocaust, to Americans "getting over" Pearl Harbor, to the Native Americans "getting over" EVERYTHING that was done to them in the name of American greed & so on?? @Alkhemist10: No we are not one race. Black folks have to teach their children and their children teach their children about slavery and the civil rights fight. It is as important to us blacks as the Holocaust is to Jews. Get over it, hell no, if you do not know our past, you sure as hell cannot know your future. @Alkhemist10 Ummmm I think u might be retarded or just simply uneducated. Every group that you refer to has received some type of reparation for what has happened to them. Who rescued the jews? America right? When the japanese were released from the camps they received money for the wrong doings that America inflicted upon them. The natives don't have to pay taxes, they are allowed to separate themselves from the rest of America. BTW.. women history month is celebrated in March. Educate Yourself

@Alkhemist10 actually there are other months to celebrate the various ethnic/gender groups that you have mentioned. however, with all the other groups, there've been reparations amongst other things that were granted to the affected populations. it's not that "black people need to feel the need to rub it in everyone's face" it is, in small part, to remember where, as a race of people, we have come from. no other group has endured such tragedy on the basis of their skin color.
