How do you manage the corner at 1:03? Just let off the accelerator and hope for the best, or is there any handbrake involved?

Actually smrt, it's both haha. It's something I've been experimenting with on basically all Rig combos and that is the "NEB handbrake". All you do is release the accelerator before pressing handbrake and then immediately apply the accelerator again once the necessary turn has been made. It avoids cutting your speed right down and gives you way more momentum into the 2nd split on this particular track.

Absolutely awesome! You can definitely do the 52 with this strategy. I never thought that could happen. It's so funny that even this short curvy track is one for the Rig if you know how to let that thing fly haha.
