  • A good laugh at hitler. Thats cool making fun of my kin who were murdered by the SS not cool. I hear now that w.w. 2 cost 60,000,000 people there lives. Good vid man Thanks

  • My favorite (partial) version of this tune comes from the IBM 'Lotus R5' commercial back in 1998 or so... very haunting, with an expanded harmony towards the end. But it's nice to hear the original.

  • idk if i love the REM version better, or this one. REM was more musically bound, this one was original and fun... :)

  • funky dancing hitler haha what next hitler car nodders?

  • Love this vid for some reason .

    Just noticed at 1:03 -

    Spelling wrong for non-meat eaters.

  • quit it people bubblegum is still good isn't it?

  • Hello, I'm trying to find a version of this song that was sang by a female, as featured in the famous Lotus Software commercial:

    youtube.com/watch?v=rRAhCCGb7BY

    Anyone know who it is?

  • Tool of satin?

  • @11Kratzer the devil's fabric.

  • Becuse of hitler 50 million people died! I have family buried in a mass grave that have yet to be found and their whole villsge too! Hitler was human but a tool of satin!

  • @unklealbert99 He was a tool of "satin"???? The fabric satin?????? HUH??

  • @eieiowens I saw that just as i sent that in. It seems that my error is in using a p.c. that has the paint worn off the A and I and a few others. You care about a spelling error more than the fact all of my kinsmen that were killed by the SS???? This is for you too 11Kratzer. Don,t write me anymore untill you grow up! Or at least get a heart tin man. Fin

  • @justice4allu Scum that was also only human?

  • Who knew Hitler could head bob lyke dat?

  • The 6 people who dislike this are nazi sympathists

  • I bought this record at a tag sale in the early '80s for probably 25 cents. The A-side was "Sugar On Sunday", an o.k. song. But I turned it over and WOW.

In 1986, I said to my bandmates: "let's learn this song, it's called 'Superman' and goes like this..."

I got one line into it and our drummer said "oh, an R.E.M. song, cool!" I said "wha?"

Well, needless to say, I was blown away when he played me R.E.M.'s version.

We never did work it into our repertoire, though. :-(

  • This is awesome. One of the funniest spoofs of the leader I have ever seen. Excellent song put well to Hitler's personality

  • when listen to the lyrics now as an adult the song seems quite psycho lol, "if you go a million miles away i'll TRACK YOU DOWN" pretty psycho.

  • The REM and The Clique versions are both good in their own right.

  • 1:15 is the best lol

  • this is the real deal, my brother had this 45 record, i used to listen to it on our little record player.

  • This version is great. My favorite after hearing it

  • I had no idea anyone did this before REM! This version needs to be publicised better!

  • good god. rem's version is wayyyyyyy better.

  • The video is taking the Clique's "Superman" and rightly making fun of Nietzsche's ideal "Superman" and Hitler's infatuation with the same. Whether the song is performed by the Clique or REM or the garage band down the street from me is immaterial to the content of the video. Fwiw I like both the Clique's and REMs versions of the song.

  • @LTF6161 Never use the name of Nieztche in vain! His ideas have nothing to do with Hitler or white power or a new race...Hitler mistunderstood it.He was a stupid selfish fag that just wanted to be in power by all means. He also used Freud theories...

Maybe he forgot he hated jewish ;)anyway

    Fuck fascism!

  • @ViciousMaximus

Hitler was many things, mostly evil, but he was not a "fag". He was straight, wierdly so, but straight nonetheless. (And, unfortunately, nor was he "stupid")

  • Not really. Just cleaner and better recording.

  • that snowman at the end is just tooo much!! :) i love the REM version too, but I think this version suits the video better.

  • The R.E.M. version intro varies the E chord to E7 as well, which I think sounds better, but this version is still interesting...

  • LOl

  • Very good song. Should have been a hit.

  • If any of you are in the south Texas area it would be worth your time to visit that meusem in Port Arthur.

  • My uncle (mother's brother) was the drummer for this band. His name is Jerry Cope. I think they have a web site on myspace. They were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Meusem of the Gulf Coast in Port Arthur, TX. They weren't a huge success in terms of of some of the other bands that are also in that hall of fame like Z.Z. Top, Janice Joplin, and Stevie Ray Vahn, but they had some great songs and toured to some major venues and played with some great musicians.

  • wow. cool... but I still like the REM cover of it better.

  • Weird video, but EXCELLENT SONG! So great to hear the original version. Thanks for posting.

  • If you read the small print on either the LP or the CD version of REM's Life's Rich Pageant, you'll see that the two writers are credited with writing this song. Honest. I own both the vinyl and the CD...played it 4 days ago and looked at the liner stuff. THANKS for posting this version, as I had never heard the original.

  • R.E.M. has also mentioned that they didn't write the song on several occasions and even performed it with Gary once. I think they feel bad for being given all the credit by fans.

  • fantastic. great song, don't know why it's credited to REM on "pageant". thanks for the posting and the work you have put into this.

  • wow, that was not what i was expecting. totally random.
