It's all personal taste. I thought Fish was a more colorful singer live. He was sort of the 2nd coming of Peter Gabriel & Genesis (my favorite band! up through Duke).

Marillion was a better group when fish was in the band, take nothing away from Hogarth he is a good vocal but this band seemed to just churn out un-interesting rubbish aimed at a mainstream audience

Well, Genesis started churning out rubbish in the 80s (starting at And Then There Were 3, Duke, or Abacab). Secondly, Brave and Marbles are both handily better than Fugazi and Clutching at Straws. I will admit that Hogarth-era was far less consistent, but there were plenty of gems.

I totally disagree. Marbles completely sucks & Brave is mediocre at best. Fugazi is fantastic but very dark & Clutching at Straws is much better then Brave.

I would say BRAVE is better than CaS, but I still prefer CaS as an album

I'd also say h is better than FISH, but even then, I think FISH is more engaging, and FISH will always be my favourite.

This is old stuff, when fish wasn't out of the band for along time aleady. So they were forced to play that, because all Marillion-Fans were Fish-fans and the most music they couldplay and the people knew were fish-songs.

Today they don't play fish-stuff and I think that is, what they should do. Because it's really very very good music and I don't like H doing fish-songs.. I l often ike it better than the old songs. But for me Fish "is the guy". But he can't sing anymore.

i totally agree with you there! fish is in marillions past althoughh presently doing ok for himself with his own music! dont get me wrong i love fish but i think that H has really done a good job! what about all those wonderful tracks we have been listening to from the H era! let go of the past and totally get into marillion for what they are today! and by the way..... mr rothery is the best and most underated lead gutarist EVER!!! second to NONE in my book!

Rothery gives me goosebumps every time with that solo. What incredible feel he has. They also did a fantastic version of this song with Dream Theater as part of the latter's fan show in London in 1995 - check it out - and thanks!
