What you've got to understand is that is isn't the fact that nothing happened to Irate Nutfuck. James is a filmmaker so it isn't surprising that he'd have hangups about marketing off the work of someone else in his own flicks.
GT is easy since he's not selling copyright content. If he DIDN'T edit them, he'd be breaking the law, and that could actually end up costing him more than the DVD's profit. Irate Gamer gets off easy because he's an ugly prick with terrible videos.
I never claimed it was a fact, Explorer, just as you never had. I buy the DVDs because it helps support James. He's not rich, you know. He has a house, a career, and a family. He's an excellent filmmaker. He loves what he does and does what he loves. That's inspirational to me. And it isn't like he WANTS to cut all the clips out. It's for the same reason that he changed his moniker from "Angry Nintendo Nerd" to "AVGN".
Nobody is putting a gun to your head and screaming at you to buy the DVD. He puts A LOT of extra stuff in his DVDs. For volume 3? 3 discs. 5 hours, 40 minutes. I'd say it's a good reason to buy them. Too much copyright content and they can remove his video and sue him. I'd rather he remove them from the DVDs than censor current and future work because of a lawsuit, wouldn't you?

Great, but 1 more question... in your Description you only list: Outtakes, Fan Songs, Fan Art, Nerd Room, and the Top 10 Nerd moments of '08 as Bonus Features. But In the video at 0:33, it shows Nerd Room, Top Ten, Outtakes, Fan Art, Fan Songs, and then Donkey Kong, and the First song recording. Are those two other listed things Bonus Features too?

I just got this DVD in the mail yesterday and it is awesome. Yes the SMB3 review was butchered. Possible copyright claims? Cut me a break! The clips in the original review are probably 10 minutes worth. The movie is 100 minutes! It's not like the original review had the whole movie in it. That would be a real copyright issue. Same thing was done in the Back to the Future review in AVGN Volume 1. Butchered. The original was better. The updates in the three reviews help the problem out.

He's already selling DVD's with his current name on it. And It's popular by his current name. I think the title should stay. Changing it to AVGN was okay back then because there wasn't nearly as many things with the title AVGN in it. And there are too many fans, so it's a little late anyways.

I am sort of interested, if it's not in region 2 I might be able to watch it on our all region dvd player in the sitting room, it is cheaper just to watch them all online for free but I can't really argue, the extras always sound good.

Copyright isn't too big an issue here. See, AVGN and Nostalgia Critic only show CLIPS of games and movies, never in their entirety. If they showed the WHOLE game or the WHOLE movie with nothing of their own added, THEN they'd be liable. I think James is just being TOO OVERLY CAUTIOUS by removing shit. why the fuck would I pay $24 to watch a nerd play games from 20 years ago?! nobody, I MEAN NOBODY, gives a damn crap about nes games, everybody watches his videos only because our friend James is funny. I am sort of interested, if it's not in region 2 I might be able to watch it on our all region dvd player in the sitting room, it is cheaper just to watch them all online for free but I can't really argue, the extras always sound good.

Can't wait to pick this up! Little present for myself! Help support James guys. When I bought the first DVD it was scratched and had errors, and they went out of their way to get me a fresh copy at no additional cost ASAP! The staff at screwattack and cinemassacre are awesome so support them and James so he can continue doing what he does. I know I will!

Copyright isn't too big an issue here. See, AVGN and Nostalgia Critic only show CLIPS of games and movies, never in their entirety. If they showed the WHOLE game or the WHOLE movie with nothing of their own added, THEN they'd be liable. I think James is just being TOO OVERLY CAUTIOUS by removing shit. So dammit, James, STOP REMOVING SHIT! I don't buy your DVDs because of it. Damn.
