  • wheres part 5?

  • Hi Urehab, I was wondering if you don't know where I could see a diagram of these muscle groups. I'm a little confused as to what part of the hand and arm is the flexor and extender group, if I spelled that right.

  • Hi, Urehab. These videos are very informative. I have some mild pulsating pain on the right side of my right wrist (right side when holding my hand out palm down). When I stretch the ring finger, I feel pain in that area and I also feel a stretching feeling on the elbow, right under the medial epicondyle. Do you think that this is the finger responsible?

  • Thank you very much for your time and effort to help us with our issues! These vids have helped me greatly, since I am a metal drummer. If there is any pressure on our arms/hands, we can be out of commisson for a good while, so this preventative exercising is a must.

There is one thing I would like to ask for though, would it be possible to have make a vid with an over the shoulder type camera angle, so we can see how the palm looks while performing these stretches please?

  • @DrVoltage1

I'll try to make in the next week or so that it is more clear as to what I am doing...

  • Thanks for your videos! I have a question.

Do I get it right that according to your concept, in prevention of CTS, it is counterproductive to stretch the upper side of the wrist as demonstrated on the video I'm linking to? /watch?v=hUyMNyrOHJQ

  • @babyscarer

The link isn't working so I couldn't review the video. If you are referring to stretching the back of the hand and wrist then yes, it is counterproductive in my opinion as these muscles are already long and weak while the muscles on the front-side of the hand, wrist and forearm are strong, short and tight. Once you have adequate balance in the hand and wrist I see no issue with stretching the extensors as well a the flexors.

  • @URehab I think YouTube doesn't allow proper links in comments, so you would have to copy&paste what I wrote after youtube.com in your browser. Anyway, you answered my question: it's OK with prevention, not OK with treatment. Thanks!

  • thanks man. any other suggestions? bc i dont wanna quit playin games

  • @g83m

Follow the stetches and exercises in the DeQuervain's Syndrome video as they seem like a better fit with your situation. Good Luck!

  • @URehab hi uhm i need some help my hand has been bothering me the past 2 days not really my wrist but id say around the middle finger and in between the middle finger and the ring finger it only hurts when i put it in a certain position or when im typing what kind of stretch do you recommend? and i game a lot too

  • @uogf

Thank you for your inquiry. There are a couple of stretches that help with this but I have not filmed them yet. I will try and get to that next week. Thanks for reminding me!

  • @URehab no sir thank you! i love the fact you are actually replying to people im subbing!

  • @uogf

    Glad to help!

  • @uogf

OK, here is the additional stretching video for the fingers that I promised: youtube . com/watch?v=yJsU2bed6FM (Fix the spaces between "youtube" and "com". I don't know why they don't let you link internally.)

I have another video that I will post up this week that focuses on the fingers as well. Although these videos address the fingers, they affect the hands and wrists a lot!

  • hi. i play a lot of playstation and recently noticed pain in my left hand and thumb would u recommend these stretches for this?

  • @g83m

Yes, these stretches would help. A lot of people become afflicted with injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Blackberry Thumb, Gamer's Thumb (DeQuervains' Syndrome) and other disorders from texting or playing video games too much. Take breaks and stretch, but performing corrective exercises is just as important as the stretches.
