Belly dance or not, this is the most beautiful dancing I've seen ever! (I'm no professional, but it looks like belly dance to me) I've been looking everywhere for someone to emulate in my dancing, who captures that "something" and she is it for me. I'd personally like to also see someone who can capture the happy innocence of the all girl parties the Arab women have. I think that attitude in dance is sexy without intending to be.

Are u jealous about her work? cause she's one of the most important bellydancers of this days, and if u're making a comment for a part of a performance "ur view is pointless". In bellydance not everything is about makin shimmies like a vibrating mobile phone, it is about heart, strenght and spirit, elegance and control, u dont have to be all the time "shakin' ass" cause bellydance has more in its technique, and in this case u can see a great floor work, something usual in this style.
And how hard is it to go over where it says "related videos" and then look down,where it says- "BELLYDANCER SAIDA-EXCELLENT!2" -that's part 2 of this performance,click it,watch it,then make your comment and there's still a third part to be watched,I already told you what's its called,in my post from a few days ago.
Try watching the later parts of this performance that I mentioned and you'll see bellydancing.Non-bellydancers can't continously move their bellies like she is at1:05 and I own DVDs where she is teaching bellydance.

Saida es una excelente bailarina! increible! aunque este video no es de mis favoritos, pues aunque medio una verdadera CATEDRA de una combinacion de yoga,ballet y gimnasia, le falto espiritu arabe, buen inicio del piso pero como que se empezo a desviar, sin embargo creo que es tan buena, que se lo perdonaria sin dudarlo, puede hacerlo mucho mejor!

Is Saida style, in Argentina of course we have no codes with clothes, as in many arab countries, and is allow to do floor work. People who says "that is not arab dance" well, this is done in Argentina, you like it or not, is the way it is. Is belly dance, modern, making a fusion with ballet, jazz and other disciplines.
Saida is known for beign a modern dancer more than an "oriental" style of dancer, her suplesse, everything she does them to the fullest. And yes circus girls do have loads of flexibility, and if you dance any dance if you have flexibility is a big plus.
Didem isa very good dancer, comparing them is a bit silly...because you can say didem is better, but saida travels all over the world while didem doesnt. So, who wins?? are you bettet because you have more job than other one??
Comparison is stupid, and Saida never copied any other dancer to get her style, she is been dancing like this for years and she made quite a good career with it.

I've seen your comment on Samia's page, even the video poster's reply to you was "Saida who?" Hahaa.. obviously you're marketing for this lady and i understand, but please stay away from Egyptian legends. Samia Gamal was named "the national dancer of Egypt" by king farouk and 60 years later she still remains a unique mystery. NO DANCER until today has been able to replicate her style.
I've seen Nathalie, Shayira Annum and other latinas dance exactly the same way like Saida. Except they are more passionate and a lot less acrobatic. But I'm assuming these girls aren't half as popular as she is?! I think they deserve recognition too. In the end they're all copies and clones of each other, so they all should be treated equally.

Shayira or Nathalie has got nothing to do with Saida...not only because they dont have one inch of the career Saida has, but because, they just copy or try to copy her. Nathalie stealing ideas, costumes, choreos of Saida and thinking because she is in the US none is going to see what she is doing is silly. And Shayira is student of Yamil Annum, who was partneire of Saida in her last annual show. And she now is quite a big fan of her.
If they deserve recognition then is up to the audience to celebrate that, as with every dancer out there who wants to get on stage and get applause from the audience, dont you think??

Saida is my teacher ok, and I learn a lot from her...every student out there has pride for their own teacher, that is why you attend to this or that class or attend to the shows. If you are in youtube, of course you try to show to the world what you have in your country, or what you like, that is why they are millions of belly dance videos, football videos, pets videos, etc etc etc etc. if that is promotion then, so be it. You misunderstood me. When I said "stay away.." I meant to say don't make stupid comparisons. Because like you said, there are millions of belly dancers. Saida is just one of those millions, some people don't like her and many have never heard of her. So when you go to video page of one of the legends and pioneers of raks and compare her to a gymnastics girl, it only looks like a desperate attempt to promote your teacher.
I made comparisons of their bodies only, of course they are different but still Samia was ballet trained and that is why when I see different egyptian dancers vids, you can see Samia Gamal was "more elegant" than the others. Ive never seen Samia dancing a saiidi as I did with Fifi, or a strong tabla solo with zaar like Mona El Said. And if sth Im not comparing Samia to Saida, is Saida to Samia, maybe Saida got influenced by her to get her style, who knows.
I have most videos of Samia, in one she does a kick ass tabla solo in Saidi dress. Her "more elegant" vids like afrita hanem are just the more popular ones. In the end she's Egyptian girl from the countryside and if you've actually seen her films, not just the dance segments, you'll know that she's even more baladi than Fifi herself.
I just want to clear up when I say baladi i mean attitude, not the style of dancing. It has a lot to do with a dancer's background, no matter how much ballet training one has it still comes out in a performance. Samia is an example of a dancer who is balletic and graceful yet she maintains an Egyptian earthiness in her dance, which is a rare combination that usually doesn't work for most dancers.

In bellydance not everything is about makin shimmies like a vibrating mobile phone, it is about heart, strenght and spirit, elegance and control, u dont have to be all the time "shakin' ass" cause bellydance has more in its technique, and in this case u can see a great floor work, something usual in this style.

Try watching the later parts of this performance that I mentioned and you'll see bellydancing.Non-bellydancers can't continously move their bellies like she is at1:05 and I own DVDs where she is teaching bellydance.

Saida es una excelente bailarina! increible! aunque este video no es de mis favoritos, pues aunque medio una verdadera CATEDRA de una combinacion de yoga,ballet y gimnasia, le falto espiritu arabe, buen inicio del piso pero como que se empezo a desviar, sin embargo creo que es tan buena, que se lo perdonaria sin dudarlo, puede hacerlo mucho mejor!

i'm sorry but i could not disagree more. that's belly dance to all lights. it's true it has elements from classical dance or however you call it. but it's only elements. her dance is merely belly dance. how can you improve, anyway, such a melody. the movements are excellent. of cource this is a simple and humble opinion.

Chicos, busque "dancer diva" y encontre este video: TURKISH MALE BELLY DANCER DiVA, es este chico al que se refieren??, la verdad no lo vi nada parecido a Saida. No se a uds que les parecera. Otra opinion, no soy para nada especialista en baile masculino, jeje, pero me gusta mucho mas por ejemplo ver a un hombre bailando como el qe se ve en el video de presentacion de raqsaida, que otro por ahi con tanto brillo y mas tintes femeninos, creo que hay una diferencia, que opinan? salu2

Is Saida style, in Argentina of course we have no codes with clothes, as in many arab countries, and is allow to do floor work. People who says "that is not arab dance" well, this is done in Argentina, you like it or not, is the way it is. Is belly dance, modern, making a fusion with ballet, jazz and other disciplines.

Saida is known for beign a modern dancer more than an "oriental" style of dancer, her suplesse, everything she does them to the fullest. And yes circus girls do have loads of flexibility, and if you dance any dance if you have flexibility is a big plus.

Didem isa very good dancer, comparing them is a bit silly...because you can say didem is better, but saida travels all over the world while didem doesnt. So, who wins?? are you bettet because you have more job than other one??
Comparison is stupid, and Saida never copied any other dancer to get her style, she is been dancing like this for years and she made quite a good career with it.

Some people find this as a bond. This is belly dance, ok? is not oriental Raqs Beledi or Sharki, ok? you need to know the difference between belly dance and Raqs.
Probably nobody knows what the 99% of the song lyrics say BUT is what is done in latinoamerica. As I said, like it or not, is what we have, and we like it. And BTW Saida doesnt do any Yoga, that is rachel Brice, and acrobatics?? she is just flexible from being a ballet trained person.

I've seen your comment on Samia's page, even the video poster's reply to you was "Saida who?" Hahaa.. obviously you're marketing for this lady and i understand, but please stay away from Egyptian legends. Samia Gamal was named "the national dancer of Egypt" by king farouk and 60 years later she still remains a unique mystery. NO DANCER until today has been able to replicate her style.

I've seen Nathalie, Shayira Annum and other latinas dance exactly the same way like Saida. Except they are more passionate and a lot less acrobatic. But I'm assuming these girls aren't half as popular as she is?! I think they deserve recognition too. In the end they're all copies and clones of each other, so they all should be treated equally.

Shayira or Nathalie has got nothing to do with Saida...not only because they dont have one inch of the career Saida has, but because, they just copy or try to copy her. Nathalie stealing ideas, costumes, choreos of Saida and thinking because she is in the US none is going to see what she is doing is silly. And Shayira is student of Yamil Annum, who was partneire of Saida in her last annual show. And she now is quite a big fan of her.

Saida is my teacher ok, and I learn a lot from her...every student out there has pride for their own teacher, that is why you attend to this or that class or attend to the shows. If you are in youtube, of course you try to show to the world what you have in your country, or what you like, that is why they are millions of belly dance videos, football videos, pets videos, etc etc etc etc. if that is promotion then, so be it. Is nothing wrong with that. Cheers!!!!

You misunderstood me. When I said "stay away.." I meant to say don't make stupid comparisons. Because like you said, there are millions of belly dancers. Saida is just one of those millions, some people don't like her and many have never heard of her. So when you go to video page of one of the legends and pioneers of raks and compare her to a gymnastics girl, it only looks like a desperate attempt to promote your teacher.

I made comparisons of their bodies only, of course they are different but still Samia was ballet trained and that is why when I see different egyptian dancers vids, you can see Samia Gamal was "more elegant" than the others. Ive never seen Samia dancing a saiidi as I did with Fifi, or a strong tabla solo with zaar like Mona El Said. And if sth Im not comparing Samia to Saida, is Saida to Samia, maybe Saida got influenced by her to get her style, who knows.

I have most videos of Samia, in one she does a kick ass tabla solo in Saidi dress. Her "more elegant" vids like afrita hanem are just the more popular ones. In the end she's Egyptian girl from the countryside and if you've actually seen her films, not just the dance segments, you'll know that she's even more baladi than Fifi herself.

I just want to clear up when I say baladi i mean attitude, not the style of dancing. It has a lot to do with a dancer's background, no matter how much ballet training one has it still comes out in a performance. Samia is an example of a dancer who is balletic and graceful yet she maintains an Egyptian earthiness in her dance, which is a rare combination that usually doesn't work for most dancers.
