  • Let me guess , this guy is American .

  • @getbackgoodtimes And you'd be wrong, he is obviously British. Listen to his accent.

  • Do you even like to play the guitar? Because it is okay to show signs your having fun!

  • i love your nose, its relaly big and round when you gave me that sexy stare into the camera, right into my heart. Through my eyes of course.

  • you are the most unemotional bastard i've ever seen hahaha

  • what cab are you uding with the jcm 200- dsl 100? and would the 1960av marshall cab sound good with the jcm 2000- dsl100?

  • hey ben.. i have an a JCM 800 2203 =/ and im not happy with the whole distorcion that i can get with my DOD 308 and the preamp volume in 10... do you prefere the jcm 2000 instead the 800?

  • I was thinking about pairing the DSL up with a Marshall 4x12 TV Cab with Greenbacks in it.

  • anyone ever tell you u look like marty friedman!

  • what is that guitar? please answer :D

  • @DavyNightmare13

    A Chapman Guitars ML1 mate

    Check them out at

    w w w chapmanguitars co uk

  • @benwilshire hey what about the rockerverb 50 man the thing is amazing!!!!!

  • @benwilshire \m/ i want a chappers ml2 how do you like the ml1?

  • THIS MAN IN A BAND RIGHT NOW!

  • you hafe to stop looking everywhere else but on your guitar when playing ;)

  • Good demo dude, i personally prefer to acheive a metal tone through mine by using crunch mode on the classic gain channel with the gain between 8-10 and then hitting the front end with an overdrive boost, mine being the mxr ZW-44, really gets more push in terms of gain when you turn the volume up as well and get those el-34s ROARING AT YA. The red channel always sounded too thin for my tastes.

  • whats so special about chapman guitars?

  • you rock really hard as a guitarist and especially for your age which is extraordinary! well done!

  • Loved the Chappers riff at 1:19 :)

  • bloody hell... wicked tone and playin both!!

  • surfing with the alien YEAH!!!

  • deja de poner cara de rock star pinche arrogante de mierda!!!

  • @loscavaz mira la guitarra no su cara maraca

  • Whats the cab man, i know its a stock one but what year is it ?

  • @joesatriani1200rulez

No idea dude. Its gone now anyway as i use a Zilla 2x12 with V30's which sounds 1000 times better than this cab!

  • @benwilshire does it work well with the 50 one? and where'd you get them from :P?

  • @joesatriani1200rulez

    50 one?????

  • @benwilshire dsl 50 :P

  • @benwilshire But, 2 V30s can only handle 60 watts :O

  • @stratelite

Nope 1 Vintage 30 is 60 watts. A 2x12 cab with 2 Vintage 30's is a 120 Watt cab. Look at all the Mesa cabs for the rectifiers and 5150's, there 2XV30's and are 120 watt cabs for the 120 watt heads!

    :)

    Benni

  • @benwilshire Well shit you're right. I blame celestion's tricky naming scheme.

  • how old are you man ? ..

  • @AXfo7

18 here man and 19 now!

  • anyone who has a jcm 2000 try setting the gain lower and put a mxr berzerker over drive pedal in front. sounds amaizing

  • making Chappers Proud! I have the dsl and I have the Slash AFD 100.. both killer amps.. I gig with the DSL I record Leads with the AFD. Great playing! Great demo!

  • Yo Benni is the DSL 50 essentially the same but just 50 watts instead of 100?

  • some people think dsl 100 is too fuzzy. what do you think Ben

  • you have praised the monkey lord in your purchase of a chapman guitar. this pleases me.

  • @1withguitar

I don't use the distortion in the amp because all distortions in amps are the lowest grade and quality and its too crunchy. I want a metal tone, not a rock tone

  • wow..just heard the mg15 (your other vid) and wow..lol.what a difference

  • what type of tubes are in a marshall jcm 2000?

  • what are you playing at 1:21? i have heard The Monkey Lord (a.k.a. Rob Chappers) play it before. did you borrow that from him or is that part of a song?

  • I loved my DSL! It was easily the best sounding amp I've ever owned!

  • getting stared down by him while watching this 0.0

  • I just wanted to leave a comment saying this is an excellent review video. Most of these videos are worthless as the reviewer yaps through the entire thing and then plays a few riffs. Your video really shows the diversity of this amplifier and I can hear the nuances clearly. An excellent video. Thanks!

  • what song is it at 1:18?

  • Aham! Rob's signature riff @1:20! :)))) Nice one!

  • check out my new video benni :D i think ull like it :D

  • You play a lot like Chappers sometimes. Especially that little clean fingerpicking riff you did.

  • i have the same head and im having a hard time getting a good tone when im using distortion. i use an electro-harmonix metal muff. i was wondering what settings you had the head set to in this video for clean.

  • @ryanharrison1337 stop using the fucking metal muff. why would buy this amp if your gonna fucking use a pedal?

  • @ryanharrison1337 "i use an electro-harmonix metal muff." <---- theres your problem.

dont scoop your mids, dont use too much gain trust me your tone will be infinitely better i know its "metal" to have your gain on your amp up all the way, but do yourself a favor and dont do it

  • I have a DSL 50, I can't get it to sound anywhere near as nice as this, mind sounds buzzy almost like a solid-state amp, what's your settings?

  • Nice playin

  • You should do a Quest for tone Joe Bonamassa tone with that Marshall JCM2000!

  • you dude are a really good player!

  • Cheers mate

  • The clean channel of this amp sounds so good, at least in this video!

  • what is the song at 1:20?

  • by the way, since you probably extensively tried both, what would you say are the main differences between a jcm2000DSL100 and a jvm410h

  • Hi there mate, I'm really interested i this head but I'm unsure of the differences between the 100 and 50 other than it having twice the output.

  • well played sir

  • whats the riff at 1:20???

  • Is this amp good for metal like pantera slayer metallica ?

And if not what other marshall amp will you recommend?

  • Is this amp good for metal like pantera slayer metallica ?

And if not what other amp will you recommend?

  • Do you change your own tubes?

  • Comment removed

  • You need a good attenuator if you want to unleash that beast foo! I have a Weber and it works awesome with my dsl 100

  • Whats your master volume on?

  • Great vid of the amp thanks great tones too!

  • Any chance of some tips mate? Iv only just got my DSL 100 n im far from a tone king, when you played on the crunch channel it sounded way better than what it does for me i can only get a clean sound out of it but on the other hand i live in a block of flats so cant crank it, is that the reason??? And could you give me some settings for ACDC/Angus tones and for slightly heavier stuff? This would really help me a lot cuz your tones are awesome... CHEERS jase, BTW iv subbed :-))

  • nice vid man and the monkey lord would be pleased =p \M/

  • My JCM 2000 sounds so muddy with any amount of gain and feeds back like a bitch, even with noise gates etc, what can I do?

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot Is your guitar's cavity shielded?

  • @GuitaristBoi9 its not the guitar.. I don't get the same problem through any other amp, but I believe so

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot Try pluggin ur noise gate through the Send and return. what noise gate do you use??

  • @GuitaristBoi9 The one built in to my line 6 pod (I'm gonna get flamed so much for owning one of those). The feedback is less through the pod than without, but even with it turned to full, it's no good. I'm willing to bed it wants a servicing

  • Ahhhh love that amp, fucking beautiful tone.

  • i've played these amps before, and i just can't get over how good they are! best amps i've ever used.

  • First off, great playing. I am curious, do you play that Chapman because of some endorsement? Your tone with your DSL and that YJM strat was clearly better (subjective), but now you play that Chapman. Cheers.

  • @MrJoeSeer "Who is the mighty monkey lord?"

The MML is none other than Nick Jonas...HA! HA!

I would venture to suggest MML might possibly, only could, only should be the ungodly, the unholy, the unwordly Mother of All Mothers, the Supreme Dictator of Unspeakable Sonic Horrors, the Divine Lord of all things Peachy & Cool, his Fine Filthy Fearsome Fabulousness - Sir James Marshall Hendrix. You may call him Jimi. This is as it is, as it should be, as it shall remain. Now, off with your head...

  • Staring at the camera with a deadpan face = freks people out and makes this uncomf to watch

  • does everyone else see blue and orange on his fret board?

  • Is all this equipment yours?, because tbf you deserve it lol

  • Who is the mighty monkey lord?

  • @MrJoeSeer rob chappers is the monkey lord

  • i love how the marshall mas sound i heard u play one on a chappers vid is this amp alot better im really thinking of buying a jcm but the ma is still an option cheers

  • is your amp cranked there? or is that it at low volume? i am debating on whether i should get a dsl or go spend the extra money and get a jvm? thoughts?? i would rather spend less money but if the jvm is worth the extra i would go for it

  • is your amp moded ?

  • @leejackson13666

    Alrite mate

No this is all stock im not that into modding amps. Stock stuff is my whole thing:)

    Benni

  • @benwilshire well you should get it modded.it would make a pretty good sounding amp sound incedible

  • @benwilshire Your ML1 isn't stock. Haha, but that's what's that guitar is about so it doesn't count. Nice playing and sound man!

  • @EricClaptonFan24

    how so?

  • @pR1sooeem What's the part you don't understand?

  • @EricClaptonFan24

in what way would his ML1 be modded and why would it being modded be what the guitar is about?

  • @pR1sooeem The philosophy of Chapman Guitars is to make it your own... Change the pick-ups and stuff.

  • @benwilshire Also nice to hear some Satch!

  • You don't need to mod a JCM2000. It has all the gain you could want, with the true Marshall tone at your fingertips out of the box.

  • Ahh, I love the Chapman ML1. Such a badass guitar.

First time I picked one up, felt absurdly natural in the hands. Shame I can't find an amp that cooperates with me that way, still hunting for tone ...

  • Comment removed

  • Hey dude,

First of all, wicked sound and amazing playing :)

...was considering taking a look at one of these heads, though i'd like to know if the Lead 2 mode is naturally louder than the Lead 1 (as in, whether it can be used as a distinctive boost in volume for solos)...

    Thanks!

  • hello dude!nice video and nice sounds!

can you tell me what riff is this at 2:28?? I am dying to play this!

  • @BillakocFTW

    Hello mate

just a random riff i made on the spot. Feel free to work it out and use it :)

    Benni

  • Is this amp good for deat/black metal like Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth or polish band Frontside?

  • Hey mate. If you don't mind me asking. Whats the bridge pickup your using?

  • @NotoriousFR

    Hello man

This is just the stock chinese humbucker from the ML1. There really cheap pickups but there surprisingly good:)

    Benni

  • @benwilshire u like rob chappers?

  • I got this amp used for 500 dollars used. thats like 350 pounds? im to scared to play it in my room...or in my house for that matter and its pretty big, i dont wanna go def =C

  • hey man sick playing i just have a question does the marshall JCM2000 respond well to pedals?

  • @A7XFIendx6661

    Hello mate

Yeah mate its a really versitile amp. I use it alot for Yngwie sounds with a DOD 308 preamp overdrive and thats really good. Its a very good amp for anything really, not too flash and fairly simple so you can do your own thing with it.

    Benni#

  • @benwilshire alright cool man thanks i'll look into trying this out and i know you're a huge yngwie style of player thats very cool in my opinion you do a good job in copying your style and mixing it with your own very cool he's also a big influence on me

  • could you tell me the settings you used for the demo? nice playing

  • what is your advice to improve speed and pick accuracy?

  • I know this is a very loud amp, but it is POSSIBLE to play at low volumes, right? I want it so bad but don't want to have to re-decorate my room after every time I play :/

  • @Seaannn1

    Hello mate

Yeah this amp inparticular and the JVM's are amazing at microcube volumes. This one sounds just as good really really quiet as it does cranked. The only issue is if your going to play alot with it at low volumes you will wear out the tubes quickly. The amp works just as hard as it does on 1 as it does 10 so playing it all the time takes its toll so bear that in mind if your using alot it alot because amp service and revalves arnt cheap.

    Amazing amp though:)

    Ben

  • @benwilshire Thanks for the help man. You've made my mind up for me, this amp is too good to miss out on. I can live with re-valves :)

  • @benwilshire im tempted to buy this, but i am strictly a bedroom guitarist. i play 80's to early 90's hair metal and shredders such as paul gilbert. would it be wise to buy this if i won't be able to ever play it louder than micro volume? are there better alternatives? i don't want modeling.. great playing btw

  • @benwilshire Sorry buddy but I have to disagree with your final statement there, when you're playing the amp quietly you aren't cooking the valves as much, so while obviously you'll still wear out your valves while playing on 1, it'll not be nearly as bad as if you play on 10 all the time! Play on 10 then feel the heat on those bad boys ;)

Killer playing btw, keep up the good work!

  • @Seaannn1 get a tsl, is has a vpr switch for low volume playing

  • i just bought this head and cab today :P \m/!!!

  • Mine is still a love/hate relationship. Every time I plug in my 2204 after playing the JCM 2000, it just sounds so much fuller. There are days that I love it, though. Probably one of the better Marshall's to come out since the Silver Jubilee, as far as versatility goes...I think Ben here has one that was made on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning. He also knows how to play it! Nice job on the demo, mate.

  • How did you get this equiptment at your age?

You been selling coke or something?

  • I got this amp and I love it. Also, I'm pretty sure your the only person on youtube reviewing this who doesent have shitty audio lol

  • Hey man, this is one of the best DSL reviews I've seen on the web. I love the tone, I was wondering.....what brand of tubes do you use in your amp? I'm going to be getting a DSL soon myself, so I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks!

  • @ackyman81

    Hello mate

The ones i have are just the stock ones from the factory not sure exactly what they are bit there awesome! They sound really good once the amp is broken in and really suit the tone.

Try the stock tubes at first and if your not keen on those i do like the sound of the JJ tesle E34L's. I have heard a few DSL's with these tubes and there really nice.

Enjoy the DSL mate im sure you will:)

    Ben

  • @benwilshire

I got JJ's in mine and I gotta say its more a fizzly tone compare to yours, mind you I am using a Behringer Bugera 4x12. I wanna get a 1960 in the near future. Joe satriani rocks btw!

  • I have this amp and absolutely love the Crunch and Clean, but the red channel is horrible to me

  • I love the DSL 100 so much I have 3 of 'em! Truly great amps. You're getting awesome tone in this video. Sounds great! : )

  • Hi!

What is that song at 1:18 ?

  • @Justasssu

    Hello mate

Its a song by the monkeylord chappers called "majesty" You can get it on itunes:)

    Ben

  • @benwilshire Heh, i knew i had heard it before.

  • You rock Ben! keep it up

  • hey mate, your gonna love the ML1 with dimarzios, what ones one were you thinking of getting?

i have a mo joe in the bridge, a chopper in the middle and a tone zone s in the neck

  • @mean0machine0

    Hello mate!

I was lookin at a tone zone in the neck too, my dad has the hotrail in his 50s RI strat its awesome. I dont really use the middle pickup so was gonna leave that stock and i was lookin at a super distortion for the bridge but these Mo Joe's seem to be really good so i might look into those. Looking to get the bidy stripped too lke Tom Edwards ML1 with the floyd on it. THe mahogony looks awesome with the ebony and maple on the neck.

    Ben

  • @benwilshire your right dude, the mahogany looks stunning and i am actually planning to strip my ML1 back too :)

  • fucking badass.

  • by the way dont go like chapppers try some more phyrgian stuff and less o the blues youre way above that.

  • do you wish you were rob chappers?

  • Badass amp dude!

  • Embrace That Vintage Ibanez!

  • Great playing, love the first couple of tones especially

  • Is that an RG550?

  • @RustyR

    Hi mate

Yeah its a 1994 rg550 got it for a steal off ebay for £260 with a case.

Badass guitar should play it more than i do

  • Comment removed

  • did you keep the original pickups in your ml1?

  • @rickyjshiznit

    Hi

    Yeah its all stock

Gonna swap em out for some DiMarzio's though. Gotta get some pickups and then find someone who can strip the body and install em.

    Ben

  • @benwilshire why not do it yourself? thats what i do itll save you some money. u just need a soldering iron and solder. the pickups should come with diagrams on how to wire it.

  • Nice playing and nice tone.
