This game was fuking hectic, the only thing that shat me about it was that you had to use the mouse to control the ship, normally for games like this, i prefered using keyboard.

Before starting each of these two Waves, if you go to the bottom of the sector selection screen where the three buttons with the weird letters are at, click that switch to the left of them, then click those three buttons, then click that switch again. Then start the mission and you should hear an electrical sound. You will BE ATTACKED BY COCONUT-THROWING CHIMPANZEES on those missions. I kid you not.

Hah, got this game yesterday for $5.99 from GOG. Long overdue purchase, and fully compatible with Windows 7 64bit too :]

They also gave me Tyrian2000 for just registering. Pretty damn nice of them. Using gamepad in both of these is a blast!

Downloading from torrents sites is for disrespectful noobs. This game is not abandonware, you can even buy it from the company's site (DOS version tho).

Pretty decent shoot 'em up. But not really up there with either the console classics in the genre, or Tyrian, also for the PC. (Although I do seem to recall Tyrian came along later.)

Also to those of you asking for a download, torrent it. Vuze and Limewire have convinent Search bars, I use Vuze, I typed in "Raptor Call of the Shadows" and I got a lot of results.

I downloaded it a while ago. It works but you need DosBox to have the sound working.

Some months back, I tried playing Wave 1 of Bravo Sector on Elite from scratch. It wasn't easy.

Air/Air Missiles aren't very strong, but they do their job well...unless if you're in a minefield, in which case you are screwed.

In theory, you could ditch your wave 1 AAMs for a Plasma Cannon or Micro Missiles (the passive weaps that stack with your basic machine gun under the bigger weapons), given enough skill at minimising repair costs, which works just fine for maximising your basic firepower.
