Dude! I studied high and low on which processor I should purchase. It was a choice between the HD500 and the Boss GT-10..... After reading many reviews, comments and listening so sample bites I went with the POD HD500 yesterday......... In watching HD500 vids here on You Tube I stumbled across this video which really solidified my purchase.

I don't log in for a while and this is what happens! I tinkered about with the guitar, never played a lead solo in my life, but after seeing a couple of duey vids (and bjorn) last year, I went out and bought a second-hand podxt live. I will post a video later in response to this. Les Paul copy, no whammy, dead strings, crappy leads, and a line6 marooned patch minus the "bender", which the pedal doesn't reset to zero leaving a horrible out of tune sound! Then there's the actual playing :-)

Just bought a HD500 and have been concerned about the sound using the existing patches, haven't had a chance yet to work on my own patches. This has given me hope for the pedal. I want to use it live, did you write that you didn't use it live just for recording? Is that because it's not very good for live use? Apart from the pedal, great playing, I love playing Floyd numbers, I want to learn Marooned now.!

I have some questions to see a bit clear in the possibilities of the POD HD500.

Did you could reach this high tones without a Digitec Whammy? Only with the POD HD500??

I'm also wondering, if the POD HD500 is that good, why did you used the other pedal FX (MXR DynaComp, Tube Driver, Digital Delay 550msn, Leslie Drum and horn, Cave reverb)? Where is the use and what is the merit if the POD HD500 in this story?

Those are the effects I used that are inside the POD HD 500. What you hear in the video is the pure signal from the POD with no post processing at all, straight from the POD to my computer and recorded. Use headphones to listen to it if you want to hear it best as possible.

The POD HD 500 has an expression pedal built in and a function called "pitch glide" which is the DigiTech Whammy model.

Thanks for the reply.I have used many preset effects on my vox amp and on my line6 ux1 with pos farm.I have the best results with my own combinations.I don't care for most of the preset ones.But when you find the right combination and tweek it,I have had better results.You did a fantastic job on your sound and your playing is perfect!!!!

@squamie You can't use any of the presets in my opinion, they aren't good and with the HD 500 you need to create all your own tones. But you certainly can get some good sound out of it.
