why does NBC always try to shorten the parade of nations?
is it because its 2 hours long or more because I watched thirdbase3's videos of the Athens 2004 Parade of Nations and it was 2 hrs long. please let me know!!!!
You still writing comments on YouTube about how's the best, the smartest, the strongest and the most beautiful? In what epoch are you living people....? Or should i say, modern caveman?
Thank god for the Athens games. I cried throughout both ceremonies. The thing that makes Athens 2004 stand out so much more than Beijing is that Athens captured the essence of emotion and life. Beijing was mostly about technology.
Kyrie, it is Zeus' anathema on our epoch for the dynamism of our economies and the heresy of our economic methods and policies that we should agonize the Scylla of numismatic plethora and the Charybdis of economic anaemia. my idiosyncrasy to be ironic or sarcastic, but my diagnosis would be that politicians are rather cryptoplethorists. Although they emphatically stigmatize numismatic plethora, they energize it through their tactics and practices ((Xenophon Zolotas)) THIS IS NOT ENGLISH

This ceremony was poetic and an masterpiece and everyone thats trying to argue about superiority of other cultures above other civilizations r dickheads. Every culture of the world is inestimable and has good n bad things, the point is the ceremony and it was great. I loved every second of it.

But since you are probably greek, I will let you have this one because I feel bad for your nation, being that it is in the trash can full of debt. Education has suffered there greatly.
Oh...wow! How did you manage to turn this conversation into a fight? Did i insult you in any way that will justify you insulting my nation? What a great historian you will become! Wow!
And please do me a favor! Check the dept that Britain, Spain, France, Portugal and Germany have!
They owe from 2-5 times more than what Greece owes! Its just that the Media blew this out of proportion to get a story!
Education? Greece has one of the best and money has nothing to do with it!
I see you have 10 thumbs up,but you know what?,...I will give you 100 more thumbs up,because you have said a big truth on the 6 points you posted!!
That's why I say that Greece has given the world, knowledge, art, history, learning, and all of this has come from big Greeks like Physicians,Architects,Philosophers,Mathematicians,Writers,Thinkers,Etc.
You know?,I am Mexican,my language is Spanish, but we use words based on the Greek language.
@LinkSoul2 mm you saunded like argentino sencillito y carismatico aahhy yes we made the olympics.. so sure you are i think you didn`t even participate as a voluntier in this olympic games so what you are is just an asshole
What in the name of the lord? Are you on drugs? What i posted is true! Secondly.....because i didnt participate as a volunteer.....i am an asshole? DERB?
I live thousand of miles away from the Olympic stadium. Actually i live in another country called Cyprus! I dear me....i should have abandon my wife and child, get on a plane, quit my job just to be a volunteer!
But i did not...so i am an asshole!!! Thank you for opening my eyes to the truth!
Are you enjoying the democracy that teh Chinese gave to the world? Or are you enjoying the mathematic formulas, philosophies and knowledge that the Egyptians gave to the world?
Oh....i am sorry....they didnt give those to the world. You are enjoying your way of life right now because of the Greeks. And last time i checked in every UNIVERSITY in the world students are learning about the Greek philosophers and mathematicians! Not Egyptian! And Parthenon > Any Egyptian Landmark!
You bet your ass i respect Egypt. They invented mathematics but Greeks took it to a whole other level. You cant deny that. As for Democracy, yes, you will starv without it because much like people are starving in no democratic countries today. If you are not equal with the others then trust me you wont get the same food as the others. And search about the Greek Wonders of the Ancient world on Youtube.... you will see what i am talking about!
@MrUlidars Hmmm... Please don't rape history. Egyptians have an exquisite and very very long history and Cleopatra was at least half Greek. You know, the Ptolemaic dynasty? @mezoomozaa the same counts for you, Idiot. This is not a penis size contest.
It doesn't look like he actually lit the cauldron, it looks more like it lit itself. Notice how it wasn't a full flame until it went about a third of the way up?
Bravo Greece! What a spectacular, amazing and well thought out opening ceremony. Well done to a country of only 11 million to put on such a colossal performance! This is my favorite ever opening for all the Olympics that have ever been. Athens, where it all began!

5:41, think of weed. 6:50 Zeus is at the other end. 6:58-7:02. eh eh e eh eh eh eh eheyyyy aaahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahaaaae i can't spell the joker's laugh. ):
As for the rest they are inductive fallacies. National holidays were devised as a means of paying tribute to the ancestors and as reminders of specific historical events, not as party time. And Halloween doesn't bear the special weight of the Olympics as an event, but the fact that it's annual instead of monthly or weekly indirectly points to the lurking danger of repetition and boredom.
I agree with the others here. The opening in Athens was better than in Beijing. Athens was epic, absolutely stunning and wonderful. Beijing was nice and huge but certainly not epic. I do not think there's one country that can beat the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, Greece. I still watch it with lots of pleasure, even 5 years later.
beijing's was emotion less...........very mechanised.........lacked warmth and the sense of comfort and hospitality......while athens' and sydneys were classicaly wonderful!

You know why the Greece 2004 Olympics were the best?
1) Its the place where the Olympics where born
2) Greeks understand the IDEA behind the olympics
3) Greeks understand the idea of all arts in a complete different way
4) Greeks are the reason the Western civilization exists
5) Everything that you use or learn today is based on the Knowledge that Greeks gave to the world!
6) Greeks are by far the most influential civilization in the history of the world
Its just simple! We made the Olympics!

@mezoomozaa
LinkSoul2 5 months ago 2
@LinkSoul2
shit !!
you think you invented mathematics ? were all our monuments build by chance ?
What Democracy ? Do I starve without this shit ?
all are Shit Ideas which I can Easily refuse or accept
I need a touched achievement , not shit ideas
I felt just now that greek was a dreaming man who think and think , and the world was animals who build and build
My Only Q is : Did you ever Visit or read about Egypt ? Did you ever hear about Luxor ?
If You didn't , please shut up

We have the 2/3 of the world Monuments , and the other 1/3 was robbed from Egypt - I think -
I admire Greeks , but not idiot Greeks
mezoomozaa 5 months ago
@mezoomozaa

Bravo Greece! What a spectacular, amazing and well thought out opening ceremony. Well done to a country of only 11 million to put on such a colossal performance! This is my favorite ever opening for all the Olympics that have ever been. Athens, where it all began!

As for the rest they are inductive fallacies. National holidays were devised as a means of paying tribute to the ancestors and as reminders of specific historical events, not as party time. And Halloween doesn't bear the special weight of the Olympics as an event, but the fact that it's annual instead of monthly or weekly indirectly points to the lurking danger of repetition and boredom.

one of the greatest openings in any olympic games
therocklabels 2 years ago 4
I agree with the others here. The opening in Athens was better than in Beijing. Athens was epic, absolutely stunning and wonderful. Beijing was nice and huge but certainly not epic. I do not think there's one country that can beat the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, Greece. I still watch it with lots of pleasure, even 5 years later.

Inded. Beijing was very martial also and very kitsch. Athens was truly epic and brought so much inovations! OMG... The soundtrack is als spetacular.

I think Athen's openning much more thrilling than Beijing's. Came on! Beijing's was boring as hell. Athen's gives me chill every time I watch it.
diegogvieira 2 years ago 73
The Olympics were coming home to Greece, Beijing admittedly can't top that even with an impressive ceremony.
