  • fundamentals of metal production 0 til 4 minutes....... an amalgam of fusions

  • hell I got one lung left, time to light up!!!!!!!!!

  • Corky Laing is soo good here!!

  • my God that is HEAVY! Leslie. Sunn amps..... rock!!!

  • Nasty Gritty as fuck! YEAH!!

  • I tell ya what Albert, if you can find some great Felix material, I'll proudly do that channel.

  • @depper Thanks! I think there should be a Felix Channel which documents all of his recordings and productions. Thats amazing you know the wah story with Eric Clapton. Felix got Leslie his 1st junior and he taught West how to vibrato the guitar.which opened the door to that sound. There arent many videos around of Felix. Corky Laing The Outsider was nice. But somewhere footage exists. I hope someone locates them one day. But thanks for what you do for Leslie. Your the Leslie guy on You Tube.

  • That being said, Albert, Leslie transformed what he learned from Felix and took it to a new level, time and time again, revinventing his sound and place in Rock n Roll history. He become a legend in his own right. That vibrato, tone and talent came from only one hand, Leslie West's. :)

  • 16,000 views not one dislike.

  • The King of Tone. The best vibrato in the business.

  • @depper You got that right! Best vibrato on the planet! best vocals, best tone. best soloist, best rhythm guitarist. West has a perfect style which was created by Felix Pappalardi aka the king. I saw West play last night. It made me cry. God bless Leslie West. My drummer was playing with him. Very cool... You need to give Felix Pappalardi more respect. I like you Deeper, but your laking in the Felix dept. sadly. Your not giving Felix the proper credit he deserves. Do a Felix Channel....

  • @ALBERTromano1965 Oh you are quiet incorrect in your assumption of my opinion of Felix. Felix was a genius and no doubt helped Leslie transform into the superstar he is today. Oh, and he helped craft Clapton' sound as well, locating a wawa pedal in Mannys Music store in Manhattan changed Claptons sound forever. Theres sadly far too little material available of Felix live or in studio to do much of a youtube channel. I know how much you love Felix, Im right there with ya brother! :)

  • Great and the power !

  • Leslie West , Carmine Appice !! they've had there Glory in the 60's & 70's ! but what to say about them in 2012 !!! they're still amazing , this kind of Music cannot be found in today's market , cause really , and simply , today's generation is far away from creating this excellent Tunes !

  • Thanks, great sound quality!

  • The back of the album cover on the "Mountain Climbing" album has a statement something like this: "This music is intended to be played LOUD". Pretty cool for about 1970.

  • I was at that show! Still (somehow) remember it well! Arranged for about 10 of my friends to go and man we had a blast! Leslie West Baby!!!

  • 12-31-70

So Hendrix was dead and Cream had been dissolved for 2 years.

Still a pretty good version, although the 6-71 Fillmore East take is the gold standard.

Although I was a teenager then, and kinda lived through it all.

Saw 'em twice and the ears were never the same.

    Good-bye little Robin-Marie, indeed!

  • Seacow, you said it....tone is amazing. There was a reason that Mr. West was one of Jimi hendrix's favorites

  • THIS IS THE BEST VERSION!

THANKS for this GREAT APRIL 2ND BIRTHDAY PRESENT !

  • @milnersXcoupe I agree, every second of this is superb and also the best version I know :~)

  • @milnersXcoupe

Agree - best version of this I have heard!!

  • top 10 bestrock guitatist 70s

  • this scorches the Earth with its fury...look out Cream lovers.

  • Fuckin' ace!

  • overdose.great stuff.....

  • Man what happened to the days when you had to be a really good musician to be famous? Leslie west, Phelix, and Jack....I rest my case

  • Kickin' Ass!!!

  • Killer tone!!

  • Great post - Thanks !

  • An all time favorite of mine

  • This version can be found on the 2nd disc of the Eruption CD which I picked up off the Mountaintheband website. Must have. All live from a Brooklyn concert and in europe for the other with some add on's of shich this was one. The live version on the Flowers of Evil album is as spectacular as this one is. different in that West plays all through and it ends on the Swan theme. Absolutely love Mountain!

  • not bad, but i miss a melodie or logic in this sound. this is jazz with GAIN on.

  • @turion8000 It's called Jammin'..............

  • Turn IT UP, an listen - Fuckin' Excellent!!

  • The version from Flowers Of Evil kicks serious butt too!

  • 2:54 gives a nice sample of the tasty licks that got me paying attention to Leslie West's playing when I was just a kid in junior school, wearing my hair long and learning rock 'n roll and the blues.

  • This Audio is just like I remembered it! With those rows of killer Sun Coliseum PA amps and Sacks & Sacks of Sun Speaker Bottoms - both for Leslie & Felix. God!, I loved their Sound and was just a kid getting into The Rochester U of R's Palestra building to see them in about 1970.

    Long live Mountains Music!

  • at times it feels like that drive I once took from Detroit to Little Rock to Los Angeles to San Francisco to Seattle, and back.............with stops for fuel and food, but not many.

  • Agree with greggmcc although I'd put that peak at 4:03 to 6:06, with the riffs that start at 5:12 being particularly awesome ...

  • What's the source of this version, the bootleg series?

  • wow!

    this is SO good sounding!

great to hear them jamming like this,

    thanks SO MUCH!

  • thank you brother ,,i love the early 70s heavy rock,,,

  • the baddest vibrato on the face of the earth!

  • @bluesdup hell yeah!

  • From around the 5 min to 7 min 30 sec mark , is one of the heaviest, tightest live jams I have ever heard. I am addicted to it, I could put it on a loop and listen to it non stop. This is like the birth of metal in America . I always thought the story of the band MOUNTAIN would make a grerat movie. I happen to be huge MOUNTAIN fan. I always see Leslie and Corky play when they come around. I've seen the many times and have never been dissapointed. Can someone post THUMBSUCKER live Felt Forum?

  • this is awsome, I am speechless. I love Mountain since 1975...

  • @tiborvivi I put this here because it is the best version I have ever heard !
