  • Hmmm I don't know if I like this ballet... The dancers are fantastic but why are they doing these steps...

  • your own words: "it is less harmful than other sports..., WHY have any HARM?, Why Suffer?, Dance is Not about Harm or Suffering!

I REPEAT- There are ALTERNATIVES; BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL Alternatives!!!~

  • Ballet is Extremely Harmful to the Body, very detrimental to the joints....

    There are Alternatives~

  • it doesn't have to be, when you use the technique, it is less harmful then other sports...

  • Compare this video with that of Portugal Ballet (here on Youtube) Marinskij is a dream in a dream. Portugal soloists are a...nightmare

  • Unfortunately in this video there is a considerable delay in the sync of the music. The music is late, compared to the choreography. It looks as if they're dancing through/off the music. I was in attendance at this performance and can assure that they were on in real life.

  • this is my favorite ballet of all time forsythe is a genius

  • i agree that i would have thought it was balanchine.

  • Wha....what is this?

This Russian traditional ballet company is now doing a Forsythe repertoire!!?

    I can't believe it.

If there is nothing written, I would think it is from Balanchine.

But I am curious if they have seen Forsythe dancing...

  • My goodness, I love Forsythe's choreography. I loved how the lead (middle) female dancer is dancing the phrase just a count before the other two at about :35 and she sort of synchs with the men's time... for a second I thought it was a mistake and that she might be off count, but I could tell a second later that it wasn't a mistake. How intricate, specific ("exact") - wonderful. Thank you for posting it.

  • Oh my, what a wonderful comment, TeufelKatze, I'm new to ballet and haven't realised what you pointed out... Wow, so beautiful!

  • forsythe loves the use of counterpoint in music. i guess that i what it is called. it is also used in group works where there is no music. the more modern works of forsythe. and yes i think he is a genius too. he can do so many different styles of ballets. look at my page of videos. i posted some things of him. search toeknee1965 i worked with him for 20 years and did this ballet once. it was scary to do but fun as well. it
