As with many new cars, these lack 2 major components.
1. Where are the bumpers? Glance anything whilst parking, and you'll be left with a $2000 bill.
2. With all those speed bumps nowadays, why not raise suspension 2 inches when under 30MPH? It helps getting in&out to it also. Oddly, I've never seen a car review where they test flying over speed bumps or handling mini-roundabouts.
The last Buick I had stinks! It teach me how to restart a car without stopping. When the engine dies while I'm driving, I just shift it to neutral, turn the key, and shift it back to drive.
It's a handsome car. GM seems to be competitive again, and I like Americana . . . I would take this over a Lexus sedan. I don't think I'd want to pay that price for a Toyota, I'd just get a BMW.
you must be out of your mind to buy this lexus-wannabe (buick lacrosse which is an imitation of lexus es series)...but the real deal (lexus) instead. btw, Germans are also copying japanese (the new VW routan looks like honda oddysey; the new 2011 bmw 5 series rear looks like infiniti g35).
i always thought buicks were for old people but this car is hot. im 25 and id def. buy it. i wanna new car sooooo bad..why do i tease myself by lookin at these videos
Buick lacrosse isnt really for old people it just sounds like it. i mean c'mon BUICK? sounds so boring but this car is really luxurious kinda like lexus or Lincoln.
gosh to bad that the most reliable american brand in the least tasteful one which is buick when u think about it no body ever gloryfies buick even rappers hehe
Thought this looked like a hot car, so I checked it out in person at the dealership. The interior is really sexy and impressively styled. But I HATE the tall beltline and chunky appearance. Think Chrysler Sebring sedan. Not flattering.
I have a 12 year old Park Avenue and everything on it still operates perfectly. My Dad had two Caddy's that were crap but maybe Buick has always been a step above. Seriously quiet, smooth, powerful, rain sensing wipers, awesome stereo, digital dual zone A/C not a single bug. I didn't know Buick's were built so well. I guess GM does have one reliable brand. Its so not cool but its a blast to drive. That LaCrosse is Hot if I had money I'd get it in a second.
GM isn't Audi or Jaguar yet but it's neat to see a GM with an interior that leads its price and class. Malibu and Camaro do as well, and CTS is at least on par with its competition. And that's four more than Chrysler anyway.
@alexanderocks VW is the king of this. Go research how many Audi and VW cars they've built on the Golf platform and with a handful of variants of about two motors. Arguably the most homogenous approach to car making with respect to both countries and models.
Buy a car on its own merits, guys. Who cares who designed it, engineered it? By all journalistic accounts, it's a great car. Wise up. Your beloved computer was more than likely made in china.... and your TV, iPod, etc. You going to toss it out with the garbage??? Sheeesh :)
actually....the way you're saying that makes it seem that u think lacrosse is a copy. But really GM takes sooooo long to get new cars to market(around 5years) but they still take the designs to auto shows. And thats where lexsus/infiniti take the chance and coppy. But they get cars 2 market faster!!!
dude, quacker6637, what a liar you are...its racists like who who keep saying 'japan copies'...the chief designer of the enclave admitted that they are trying hard to be like Lexus.
Japanese cars rule, there's no way around that...stop hating and start embracing this great asian giant.
i like all kind of cars but i luv american muscle, remember that lexus used to be partners with GM but later b4 oldsmobile disapear lexus got out, lexus keep the prints for the v6 v v series, that GM created so your lieng really bad, lexus have similarities on its cars with the v6 of gm, after honda took lexus they kept the lexus engine and adopt it too, i can tell you dont knwo much about cars
You don't know anything about cars, lexus is a toyota brand, and was never partners with gm. toyota and honda both have worked with gm from time to time. both honda and toyota's hybrid drive systems were developed by gm. and the 3.6 liter v6 you talking about has nothing to do with either of them. so i would say you know nothing about the car industry
This is not a copy! In that case the Taurus is a copy of the MKS. The Lexus ES is a copy of the Camry! The Highlander is a copy of the Lexus RX. They share platforms. This isn't a copy.
Yes, okay whatever, you work for GM, but this car is not just "rebranded" It's on a longer platform. Has a brand new Exterior and the Interior looks nothing like the Opel's.
How is this not a copy? How is anything you just said true? How is this not a malibu as you said the other cars are to their shared platform? It just takes one look to see that they are using the same parts across each brand within GM.
Ford does it (Lincoln MKZ, Mercury Milan, Lincoln MKZ. They also do the Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS. Lincoln MKT and Ford Flex. Mercury Mariner and Ford Escape. Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition. Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer. Mercury Marquis, Ford Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car. Ford F-150/Lincoln Mark LT) I can go to Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, Hyundai/Kia, VW/Audi/Lamborghini, and Nissan/Infiniti if you'd like. Everybody does it now, so open your eyes.
Wow.... I had something written but it didn't get submitted. fuckin youtube >:(...
Anyway, I was saying that the Lacrosse is on GM's next generation Epsilon II Platform. The Malibu is on the Epsilon I, which was the platform used for the last gen Malibu as well. The Lacrosse is also 6 inches longer and has a brand new interior/exterior, so....
Are you just now figuring that out? GM has for decades used the same parts across each brand, it makes it easier and cheaper to build an automobile, not to mention parts are interchangeable, however each brand has it's own styling and it's own equipment package unique to only one brand, i.e Buick for years used Dynaride as a suspension, Cadillac Northstar Etc. So they are unique in their own way.
Ofcourse I knew this. I worked for Buick for 3 years. I also know that every automobile manufacturer with more than just one brand will do the same.
The confusion is, I thought HakemEX was saying that's not the case with this vehicle. I was simply asking how this Lacrosse is not a copy from another GM brand as Hakem's post stated. This we agreed is not the case. Obviously, this vehicle shares platforms etc... I don't see how you got confused after reading our posts though.
Very nice design ,just dont like the chrome above the rear tail lights, it's just a tad bit too much chrome back there.Kick ass interior.Keep it up Buick i'm with you.
@miath43 from the side the rear 0:34 relly looks like a BMW copy, my mom had a opel before and it was crap in less than a year plastic parts inside just fell apart due to sunlight and besides thaat we never had a car before we had to bring so often to maintenance, many american GM company cars also drive in Euope just with another name for example the chevorolet volt in the europe it's called opel ampera but exept for a few optical issues it's the same car
What are you, 12? You do realize that basic psychology would suggest that you are threatened by GM's products in some way? If they're so bad, then stop looking them up and commenting on them. I'd say you're threatened because you know that this is a competition-killing midsize sedan from Buick. Last I checked, the Accord, Camry and Altima don't offer AWD, rear seat entertainment, direct-injected engines and the most dependable midsize car award just to name a few best in class characteristics.
