  • Is that a Flyin Miata kit? The gauge looked like the FM one. Car runs great man!

  • Sweet!!!!!!!

  • Did you know Benito Mussolini would ward off he evil eye by touching his testicles?

  • wth is up with ur oil presure 0_0

  • "take off around 1/6 for loss thru turbo" <- Comment of the year.

  • any problems with your clutch with the added power?

  • @cssplayer19 ive heard the stock clutches start to slip around 230HP but thats just what ive heard not an actual fact

  • im hoping your oil pressure gauge is broke...

  • 10 psi @ turbo 6 or 7 at the manifold

  • @mazstro The gauge is hooked up to the intake manifold.

  • lol, some of the comments on here are hilarious! i love the 'put sand bags in the boot' yeah that will help handling - how much did the turbo kit cost btw? ive been thinking of turbo charging my mk 2.5 1.8s for a while but cannot decide

  • you have really short gear ratios..

  • @antwanpimp those are the stock 1.6 ratios, so yes it's very short for a turbo car running 10PSI

  • @jamesnotnev I don't think you have much of a clue of what your talking about.

  • @cardriverx Wait, is this rwhp or just at the crank?

  • @jamesnotnev Lmao NA cars run 14 stock? lol 1/6 of power lost through turbo lollololol

  • @jamesnotnev If we could model the engine as a perfect vacuum then your thinking would be correct. But this is not the case (the pressure difference from the turbocharger to the cylinder is not just the absolute manifold pressure). In fact the system is not even steady state.

  • @jamesnotnev Your an idiot, PSI ratings dont work like that. If a turbo boosts 10 lb on a car it is positive 10 PSI. If you are referring to the intake manifold pressure of a NA engine it is negative, so it would be around negative 10 PSI in the intake manifold. You dont add 10 psi to that negative intake manifold pressure, that would be an absurd way to measure intake pressures. Instead the boost is just read from target boost when the turbo is spooled. Also, there is no "Loss" through a turbo.

  • @jamesnotnev Looks like you got hit with the stupid stick, eh?

  • @jamesnotnev Your a fucken idiot

  • @jamesnotnev ur dumb

  • @jamesnotnev hahahahahahahahaha wtf?

  • @jamesnotnev Hahaha! Holy shit your a dumbass!

  • @jamesnotnev your calculations for naturally air pressure are a bit off, but you got the right idea and there is no way thi smiata has 200 hp, 200hp miatas don't take 6 seconds to hit 60 with a 20 mph roll

  • @jamesnotnev where the fuck did you get that logic?

  • Hey so thats all stock internals. Im looking at doing a FM II Voodo on a 93, not sure if i should rebuilt first or not. at around 110K miles, what do you think, how many miles on your bad boy right now?

  • 1:31...WAIT.......DONT LEAVE ME!

  • is this a 1.8??

  • Pretty Quick!! I hope to see something similar in my future!! :)

  • Is there anything done internally or is it a stock block?

  • @datazncarl Totally stock block. Check out my newer video, making more power on the same block.

  • @cardriverx u think a stock motor would handle 10 psi??? i plan on boosting one of these and running about 10psi with only fuel and elctronic upgrades and a completly stock top and bottom end motor and stock tranny... u think its last more then a week?

  • Who tuned your car?

  • @Subsw00fers me and myself.

  • @cardriverx IYou tuned your car using what program? Sorry, I am new to these things.

  • @cardriverx

Did you make a good team?

  • @cardriverx

Did you make a good team?

  • I WOULD LOVE TO PUT A V8 ON MY MIATA I JUST MET A GUY THAT WILL DO IT FOR CHEAP BUT I DONT KNOW WHATS THE BEST AND CHEAPEST V8 ANY HELP?

  • Is this an MX5?, i think they are called Miata in the states.

Anyhow nice performance. I've seen a few of these on yt with 300+ bhp, but they are shit, they just spin up. 200bhp is a nice healthy amount for this car without going over the top

  • @drazens3 your obviously not a car guy, so there is no point in even answering you.

  • @cardriverx i am telling you from my experience, i have 12 years old sport car and this is hole without bottom. When you started invest big money in it you realize that your car become old and not so great any more. Now i have mechanical problems that probably cost more than car. But if you have planty of money don't even bother with my talking

  • @drazens3 Everyone has different experiences with tuning a car. Don't think that just because you fucked up with yours, that applies for everyone as well.

  • @wajalama i don't wan't to argue with anyone, my tuning didn't fucked up my car but driving like in this vid is. You can't tell me that i am wrong when i sad that investing in tuning is hole without bottom. First you start with body, than engine and than comes kid and you need to sell that car to buy familly size one.

  • @cardriverx well spoken.

  • @drazens3 You really don't know nothing about Miata? dummy

  • @drazens3 Don't you think it's kind of stupid to spend 30k+ on a car that is slower and gets worse gas mileage than this one?

  • @BEATYOAZ i am working at car dealer shop which is also multibrand servis and i have chance to drive every kind of car you could imagine. After all those tuned cars, yes i would rather drive 30k cars which eventually gets much better mileage.

  • @drazens3 Why not? I trust cars well built from the 70's much more than a car built in 2010... Cars are much more reliable back then in my opinion... and 17 years old is young for a car...

  • oil pressure?

  • and with the v8 swap there are many peices that you can replace that are lighter and stronger for the ls1, subframe, control arms ect.

  • he spent probably atleast 3k for the "turbo kit" 1k on exhaust 1k on a tune lol wroughly thats what I've been coming up with when looking at my 94 turbo kit im building. unless he used ebay parts that will blow up soon XD

  • @robzeroits I built my exhaust for around $250. I got maybe 3k in it, im at 14 psi now FYI (other vids).

  • 200 hp might not sound like a lot but the car body weighs nothing!

  • lol mis shift at :50

  • fuck that's slow. my mums holden cruze goes harder.

  • short shiftin like a lil baby lol

  • Why would you want to do something stupid like dump a V8 motor in a superb handling sports car???? Why not modify the stock motor and better brakes, steering components (does it need any?). Mazda Miata is truely a fantastic handling sports car. Drive it for what its worth through the corners. Any monkey can go fast down a straight.

  • A miata is a well balanced car it is made to handle once you put a V8 in it it will throw off the balance of the car meaning own a miata would be pointless.

  • @civicfla2 An LS1 V8 engine actually only weighs slightly more than the stock 4 cylinder.

  • @cardriverx I wasn't just referring to the weight of the vehicle. Where the engine sits in the engine bay also has a lot to do with balance. This car is perfect from the factory for handling. If you are going to do a LS1 swap why not do it to a vehicle that handles well. Plus who the fuck needs a 300hp miata on a mountain road. My friend had a bone stock eunos roaster no Lsd and he was whooping the shit out of a 400Hp GTR on a mountain road.

  • @cardriverx Do you know the weights of both motors. The Ls1 & 4 cyl Mazda motor. Anybody for that matter .....Thanks for any help. yl

  • @cardriverx the LS1 BLOCK is only a bit more than the engine with everything on it + the tranny

  • @cardriverx

And an rb25 miata is lighter than the V8 miata, and faster.

  • @squirrely911 An RB25 is close to 300lbs HEAVIER than an LS1. LS1 has more low end torque also. Get your facts straight before you post and look like a fool.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss

    Cool? I don't care?

It's still faster than the LS1 Miata.

My miata's turbo like yours, except with a t28, and I have a megasquirt. What kind of stand alone do you have?

  • @civicfla2 not really there's some light weight V8's out there although imma tell you this i would rather make a 13B swap but you know ppl have different tastes

  • @96integra02 how high are swap costs?? Better spend 6-7k on the 1.8liter build it and go 400whp safely, reliably instead of spendig 15k on a frankenstein swap that will torque the hell out of the chassis. beside the 13b is never gonna give you the 26-30mpg the 1.8 turbo will

  • @lobomochilero let's be honest here. the swap doesn't cost 15K you're just pulling numbers out of your ass

  • @civicfla2 ITS TRUE A V8 DOES NOT WEIGHT MUCH MORE THAN A 4 CYL MIATA THE 4 CYL MIATA IS BIG AND HEAVY I WOULD LOVE TO PUT A V8 ON MY MIATA I JUST MET A GUY THAT WILL DO IT FOR CHEAP BUT I DONT KNOW WHATS THE BEST AND CHEAPEST V8 ANY HELP?

  • @LiKeMyScoPE too bad your gay. Mazda Miata is a superb handling sports car.

  • Well, just for the sake of argument here...There are pick & pull junkyards around avg. price for engine..$300+/- explorer 5.0 which gives you all the goodies minus a decent cam. Ford has made these motors a long time, and have them down to a science. Add ONLY a good cam, and your at about...340 horse @ the flywheel on a 150k mile motor, but wait...even if you do nothing to it, you still have at least 100 xtra ft/lbs of torque, and actually, for once.. IT SOUNDS LIKE A COOL CAR!

  • if I ever do a v8 swap, I would only go with an LS block. Worth the extra cost in my mind.

  • I'm w/you 110% on that, if you want to do it...do it right the first time around. Even if it warranted an iron 6-liter block if thats all I could find. But those on a tighter budget, the explorer 302's w/gtp heads & cobra intakes for almost free are hard to beat. Just change the cam, add Megasquirt..and your set for very little dinero.

  • A) I wouldn't want to go over 125 in a 2000lb miata

    B) a 200rwhp miata still gets 28mpg

    C) a 200rwhp wont torque the frame, is easy to build and still weighs in at 2k lbs

    D) how many daily driver V8 Miatas do you see? A 1.6/1.8 turbo NA is a great daily driver

  • @Premixyz It's all about how big your balls are :)

  • if you drive a miata don't worry they are not there anymore

  • @Premixyz All of this is true, but Personally, if you lowered the Miata a little, and put a wing ( yes... it will look "Ricey" ) it should keep on the road pretty good, if not, put some sand bands in the trunk, make it have more weight in the rear wheels.

  • how much did you spend total you think?

  • @realxfresh Probably liek 3,000$, but really I have no freaking clue haha.

  • Haha man, don't worry, once I get out of college and can afford dropping almost 10k, It will be done.

  • @cardriverx in alaska it's a 6k job :O lol jokes.

  • ... its cheaper to turbo then do any type of v6 v8 swap on a miata. yes its cheaper to make power with v6 v8 swap, but if you count the hours of labor and EXTRA mod's needed to fit a v6 v8 in, its clear that turboing the MIATA block which is TURBO READY to begin with is much cheaper. Someone on here has a miata iron block pushing 820rwhp.

  • the engine bay is big enough for a ls1 with little mods. if u look at the stock engine bay there is almost enough room to fit 2 stock engines. in the end its preference and what u can get your hands on cheaply.

  • If you think you can put a V8 in a Miata for the same price or only slightly more than getting 200hp out of a turbo Miata, you have not done your research. Monster Miata sells kits for 4k and that doesn't even include the motor, just pieces for fitting the motor plus axles, headers, oil pan, etc. You still have to build the motor separately. Good luck spending less than 7-8k on a v8 swap.

  • damn those things have small gears haha i bet you run outta revs around 130

  • haha, close, about 125 mph.

  • Oh damn, no kidding. That is my VR-4's third gear lol!

I love what you have done though. I have always considered boosting a Miata for fun someday. Good job!

  • B6 or BP?

  • BP.

  • this the 1.6 or 1.8? Whats your torque figures? cool vid.

  • 1.6. At 10psi I was around 170 lbft.

  • Miata engines are boost friendly as the first engines were taken from the turbo 323 in the late 80's so both the 1.6 and later the 1.8 are boost friendly, some NA's even come ready with a plug on the side of the engine block for the turbo oil feed line, just unplug and connect, my friend was running 12 psi with stock internals without a hitch until he decided to go for 18 psi. Nope the engine didn't blow, it keep on running with a bent piston rod. LOL

  • damn that thing flys

  • What's up with your oil pressure? Pushing that much boost and only getting 30lbs of pressure?

  • i cant put a turbo in mi 93 mita whith stock motor?

  • u can. just dont boost it highhhhhhhhh

  • with a good race injectors i can put 10 psi?

  • i heard the maximum amount to put in a miata is 10-15 psi in the early years of the NA. Check out forums on google to see what other people did, see what you can do.

  • ohh ok thanks bro, What do you do to put 10 psi in your miata?

  • i can't drive yet.

  • why you can't drive?

  • cuz im not old enough!

  • well for not so old you have a small car with turbo and is a mini treasure, that car is amazing so take care of then

  • yeah, i plan on getting one in about a year.

  • Miata's stock injectors get 99% duty cycle at 10 psi. Any moore boost and you wil run lean. As a precaution, never run more than 7 psi on stock injectors...

  • thanks bro,

  • @MaximumRace agreed. 750cc and a megasquirt will do the trick and you have a really good gap in duty cycle for a built bottom end later

  • haha love the a/f gauge :D

  • oil pressure seems low...

  • In this video what other mods do you have besides the turbo, you have 10 psi so you must be running some type of ECU, or good EMS.

  • are these cars any good? a guy with a fixed up one wants to trade for my 94 5.0 mustang. it is turboed.

  • depends on how well the work is on the car, and the condition of the car.

  • are the stock motors any good for a turbo? this motor has 143K miles and had a turbo a year now.

  • Stock miata engines are pretty much the same engine from the turbo 323 GTX, so they take to turbochargeing very well.

143k isent too bad, what year? 1990 engines had soem problems.

  • Your oil pressure was at 30 the whole time. Mine did the same after turbo. Did that "low" pressure cause you any problems? Could it be the synthetic oil, oil feed line...

  • I would like to know this as well, but I'd also like to see how a different oil pressure gauge would react as well.

  • Wow, that's fast.

  • never seen a miata push 100 in 10 seconds.

  • Jeez I know that it would add a lot of weight but I would love to see a miata with a 4g63 in it.

  • ive got a 95 miata and i am looking to put some upgrades on it while spending under 4k would u recommend a turbo or a supercharger? if anyone could send me a link to a good site please lol

  • Hi man! I recommend a turbo because a supercharger use part of the power of the engine and a turbo doesnt!. you can check in ebay, there are a lot of turbos for mx5, good lock.

  • turbo for sure. superchargers give the miata idling problems

  • not if you do it right

  • under 4 grand?? good luck doing it right with that budget

  • your kidding right??? A simple basic custom turbo kit can be had for 1.5k with everything you need full exhaust, intake, gauges, intercooler, bov gated turbo, piggyback ems, boost controller, everything you would need. it might not say greddy hks, or some other mad tyte jdm brand name, but thank god for that! you basically pay for a name when you go that route

  • what kit are you looking at???? you must be on crack

  • very nice. lookin to turbo my 97 miata, any suggestions where to look for a good one? thanks

  • flyin miata has a quality product

  • is that a 6 speed?

  • when you put your 305cc injectors in were you using ms or was it stock ecu? did the car still run good?

  • Pppppffffftttt..... My Speedometer moves as fast as that!... No wait, you're in MPH O_O.... Hahahaha nice car :). I hope mine moves like that T_T.

  • how many miles are on the motor?

  • wow 200hp....that thing looks like it has a lot more! I know these are light but how light?

  • about 2100

  • curb weight is 2200. And miles doesnt matter. Mines has over 200xxx with the same if not, a little more power.

  • What tires are you running? Your getting reasonable traction for ten pounds.

  • your oil pressure looks a bit low, is your gauge working?

  • "what kit is this and where is a link for it??"

I pieced together the kit myself using various peices.

  • what kit is this and where is a link for it??

  • check out my garett turboed miata videos in my profile

ill be uploading more soon too!

    thanks

  • yes, also the megasquirt is working, its faster now.

  • is that a 1.6 liter engine?

  • trying to geta megasquirt to work, 305cc for now.

  • tuned? cc injectors?
