  • Her name is Kellie Sae. Last I heard she was doing her solo thing and performing with a rock band too. Isn't she beautiful?

  • Can someone please tell me the name of the lead female singer in this performaance and what she is doing these days?

  • Kelli unleashed SOUL in SEOUL!

  • GREAT JOB GOOD RENDITION BUT THE JONES GIRLS STILL OWN THIS!!!

  • Comment removed

  • LOVE THIS LIVE ;)

  • the horn section is freakin tight!!! its like theyre one person

  • Much props for covering this Jones Girl classic, but I think I prefer the laid back bass line of the original. I know R&B/funk/soul influenced European genres drift more towards the club scene, but I wish someone would resurrect the quiet storm.

  • This song has real spiritual healing powers.

  • @KemetMysticYAYA : I agree. I am going through a tough time these days. This is the only song I listen to calm me down and smooth me out.

  • ? to anyone. What is the lead singer's name????

  • @stem110 Kelli Sai. I'm not sure on the last name, but Kelli is her first name. Go watch her sing "Colibri" live from the same concert...brilliant!

  • this song has helped drive up and down i-95 more times than i can count!! it is awesome here but somehow the cd version tears it up!!! i'm in love with these folks forever

  • Tight horn.......oeeerrr

  • Soullovereal/ etc - if the singers were not up to the job, Bluey would not have them on the stage..... He don't mess about.. The very thing i like about incognito is the fresh performance - I have seen Kelli Sae live and she tares the place up...To sing live i think you are forgetting how easy it is not - I think its great to see a different line up it keeps things fresh - The really big names do play at the gigs and there will always be a mention of this

  • When I first heard this group, I was 50 years old. I thought I was thrown back to the 70s man! Then I realized that this was a new type of genre; I call it: Funkiscobop!

  • @hartistry1957

They're not really a new group, they were around when this song first dropped back in 1981 (they were founded the same year). They're a British acid jazz group. The acid jazz genre has been around since 1980. It's just whenever acid jazz bands are played on US radio, they tend to get lost in the scuffle of R&B and soul (Jamiroquai and The Brand New Heavies are acid-jazz).

  • This is the hottest group alive, many years in the industry. Band members and singers have changed over the years but they still deliver smoking hot melodious music. Go Incognito love ya!

  • I love that girl. She puts on a good show. And she's sexy...

  • nights over Egypt? i don't think so...not right now anyway...(with all the riots)....

  • WHAT are these two females vocalists full names please?

  • @johnbambammorgan

Kelli Sae (lead) and Imaani Saleem

  • Those horns are amazing. Up there with Tower of Power or James Brown's horn sections?

  • who is the lead singer in this video?

  • This version sounds lousy. Those singes are not even Maysa Leak and Jocelyn Brown. That's one usual problem with Incognito; the studio releases are one thing, but in their tours, the singers could be anyone... These singers are nothing like Maysa and her full range and high notes, and Jocelyn with her husky and soulful rasp.

  • That music goes threw your bones. Simply awesome!

  • I`ve seen them live back in the ninetees,(1995/1996),we were standing next 2 the leadsinger, nice guy.Good music especialy that all the musicians were from all over the world

  • when this guys going to toronto?

  • The other woman is so hot to me! The music not to bad likewise....

  • I still like the original by the Jones Girls better - but I love Incognito!!

  • One of the best rehearsed performances on stage

  • Could someone please post the music video, thanks.

  • Excellent!!!!!Hell Yeah!!!!

Thank you THRILLAKILLA187 for a great share

Thank you Guitarfx for an awesome post!

  • @2009Denisem aww shucks thanks honey 8)!

  • This is my favorite cut from the CD.

  • Perfection!

  • If this don't make you move, nothing will!!!

  • are they still playing?when they coming here in canada?

  • "Your eyes won't believe what your mind can't conceive...nights over egypt."

  • its so precise...man they're educated.

  • The original is much better... poor acid jazz cover

  • It beautiful jazz! Have you ever heard of jazz house compositions Valerio Minicillo? The First, Crazy Funky, wow! There is a wonderful video, which is LA MAGIA DEL SAX !

  • Nice clean work from trumpet player - as usual he does not miss a note

  • My all time favorite band. They are the TRUTH!!!!

  • sensasional track frist class

  • I 1st started jamming to Incognito's beat when I was a young Air Force troop in Sumter South Carolina. One of my mates maybe in GB right now told me about some sounds out of my one of my former homes I use to live in East Anglia the grps were but of course Bluey & Incognito and Jamariquai

  • @bostonchip2006 * Jamiroquai? :D

  • Thanx Galv1nBass my typing (lol) is horrendous but Jamiroquai is brilliant ay mate!

  • bostonchip2006!

    My man! The best!

  • wonderful music, this is my fav song, taken from "nothing like the future", I listened all the cd when I was in Paris, it's wonderful to do a journey with their music, thanks INCOGNITO!!!!

  • What a great singer Kelli is!!!

  • Does anyone know who the lead singer is in this clip?

  • @saxyjon010, her name is Kelli Sae, great performer. There's a better version than this, taped from the North Sea Jazz. Try to get it!.

  • Great song. Dexter Wansel original production. The most underated of all Philly sound producers.

  • amazing footage! xx paula

  • An outstanding performance, There's only talent in incognito!!!!

  • THEY ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNKAAAAYYY!!!! I can't take it....NIGHTS OVER EGYPT>>>>>MONSTER BAND & VOCALS....PLEASE COME TO LA!!!!!

  • This is a nice song, it takes you to Egypt and that time.

    maneal1949

  • Love the original too:

Nights over egypt: The Jones sisters.

  • Badassss group!

  • Seen these guys at the Royal Albert Hall in the 90's, truly an amazing experience .... thx 4 posting .... x

  • the vocalist is Kelli Sae ....Awesome !!!!

  • Bassist is Julian Crampton.

A true bass monster to be sure!!

  • pohoda jazz...

  • Can't touch the original, but full respect to Incognito!!! And alxgallant, you're not joking bout that bassist boy

  • You are so right. I was going to say the same thing. Take me back to The Jones Girls, please!

  • i think randy hope taylor if he was playn on this song then, dont know

  • Randy did play for them and is a monster, but i think this is Julian Crampton.

  • i missed them in Japan, would of been very influental to see them.

  • The bassist of this group is cooking.

  • This is a really great cover!!! I'd even dare to say better than the Jones Girls' version.

  • Ah Hell Naw!! Good version but better..Hell Naw

  • it was interesting to see this song performed live, its a very high energy song on the recording. i think they did a great job live as well, a little different but i love Incognito.

  • "NUMERI 1"

  • a great band - I can't go with this cover though -- the whole nocturnal quiet mysterious moody groove of the original is lost, the sinuous reedy synth intro, the hushed feeling of desert night - think of the Nutcracker ballet, the Coffee Dance with its luxuriant drifting melody - this is a mood piece. Props to the big horn band, but they stampeded right over it.

  • I agree it is too

" house/trance/electronica " where the original is more hauntingly soulful.

  • grrrrrrrrrrrrreat !!!!!!bluey

  • Wicked Bluey.. sounding wicked! ben :)

  • Men, this is the best band in the world after EWF...

  • Hey guitarfx i need you to upload Incognito- spellbound and speechless- plz plz. I love that track.

  • I would be DAZED to hear them LIVE.Thank you!!!

  • i will in 4 hours!!

with the brand new heavies in germany. if that wont be amazing, i dont know what ever will in my life!

  • Have a fabulous time. You should make some pics of them and upload it,lobe the Brand New heavies too!!

  • Im sorry...but this ain't cuttin' it for me...don't play with a classic.

Where is the top note??? The band overshadows the vocalists.

  • The Jones Girl's version has a more laid back mellow vibe..brings back memories..I like it best..I'm so glad to see it on youtube.

  • Great atmosphere/version.................almost as good as the original Jones Girls version

  • black power. Best, power of a black voices women´s

  • Isn't it wonderful that I can hear Keli and Maysa sing this on youtube and get my groove on in two flavors...I love it!!!

  • The atmosphere must have been electric.. Did anyone experience the atmosphere that night?

  • This is soo hot!!!! Band & vocals are EXCELLENT!

  • the leader of the band is originaly from mauritius i'm very proud and i'm a big fan go jean paul'bluey'maunick

  • Go KELLI...

  • it got the funk! wish id been there to experienve it, fantastic version. though love all the versions the cogs have done of it. keep going guys you just keep getting beeter and better. been following since tribes vibes and scribes.

  • GO KELLI GIRL!!!

  • Awesome. I wish this was on a dvd would love to hear it in full quality, great post!!!

  • @rinkydinkyron: How much more groove do you need? This version is so energetic and overrules the boring jones girls version by far!I'm a singer too and I understand with what kind of energy Kelli is singing this...damn!

    @ buttholebzerker :

For people like you they invented plastic dolls like Paris Hilton..

You dont live in the real world where it don't matter how you look, but what you do!

    BTW..Kelli is absolutely beautiful!!

And just like croon down here...I just loooove Incognito..!

  • OMG!!! I'm a singer - but forever love a TIGHT horn section. (Shit they're hot!) This is lovely. Mmm-mm stuff! Go Kelli. Who cares what buttbzerker thinks, we love your presence. Go, girl. Nice yodels. Hit it...yes, yo' do. Nice. And of course the horns sew it up. Love it. With the bass solo stringing yo' all on....oh god, as usual, I'm in love with Incognito. Love the live energy. And musos that hit it.

  • Love Incognito and love The Jones Girls but this arrangement does not do it for me.

    What happened to the "GROOVE"?

The whole "heartbeat" of the song has been lost.

Take a listen to the original and tell me i'm wrong.

  • 'cept she looks like she's trining for a welterweight rematch. where's the jumprope, diva?

  • A woman who can sing like that is always sexy in my book.

  • Incognito is great and powerful as always! I've bought several of their albums/CD's. But Kelli Sae is fantastic also. But she is still underplayed by radio stations and overlooked by the television and print media. I loved both of her solo albums/CD'S. I would love to see her perform live here in New York City!

  • I love this song WOW!, my husband is a Egyptian and I must play this song for him.

  • Does anyone know where I can find more videos from this concert?

  • originally song by "The Jones Girls", but beautifully done this way as well....

  • duhhh

  • Duhh What?

  • the Jones Girls version was a classic...did Maysa Leak originally sing this on the Incognito cd??

  • To asialou Yes this was sung by Maysa and Jocelyn Brown two fabulous singers...

  • Kellie is an incredible vocalist. I like the original by The Jones Girls too.

  • Sounds good.she is beautiful..

  • Awesome....!!!!!

  • This song always puts me in a great mood..

  • dance all night

  • Yes! Even South Coreans like this kind of stuff. Thumbs up!!!

  • Kelly Sae Rulez!!! A long trip into a awesome music...only from Incognito!!!!!!!!

  • i'm in love with this song. Nights over Egypt.

  • What's the singer's name? I dig her alot!

  • The lead singer's name is Kelli Sae.

  • Where's Maysa Leake?

Why isn't she performing in this video?

I still like this version though!

    Thankyouxxx!

  • Stealth move ha ha:) Bluey is noted as one of U.K's black music's originators. Considering that the orginal line-up for Incognito was developed more than 26 years ago! Do you think that this so called rumour of evidence would have grounds in a court of law...

    Think about it?

  • However in November 1996 Bluey was quoted in an interview in B&S magazine: "The thing is I'm better organised now whereas, back then we weren't. A lot of British black artists just didn't have the know-how, the managers, the lawyers...

I mean, they'd sign a contract for a meal in a Wimpy Bar." (oh dear)

  • Possibly due to a lack of organisation around that time these allegations might in fact be true. However there might be no financial evidence to support these claims..

    It's just so far back.

As far as I can remember the artists/musicians who worked for Bluey/Incognito were ever revolving, even up until this day...

That's alot of people to pay off!

    Thxs for postingxxx!

  • Brazilianuno - about a whole album - I doubt any of the accused ever put a CD out with another artists name on - Tony Remy - and didn't tell that artist that they put it out, cut the deal with the label, took all the advance and royalties etc. The CD is out dude, Bluey put it there and didn't tell Tony Remy. Can't support Pimps man. Brazilianuno - respect to your work man. Hell of a list!

  • kool. I'll definately ask him. I know Tony. In fact i'm scheduled to hit Bluey up when we get to london. CHAKA and George Duke told me he was rockin with his collective. I guess if what u say is true it would be such a shame. Well thanks for the heads up. DH

  • Love this track.. MAW version is one my favorite!

  • Great song, but slow down... chill out.

  • Rumour has it that Bluey has been ripping the band off for years and doesn't pay the musicians. He also just released a duo album with Tony Remy and didn't tell Tony Remy that the album was out. Seems like a real jerk and thief, exploiter. Apparently, several musicians are getting together to take Bluey to court and clean him out. What goes around....

  • Let me see, this rumor is your post about the song? Since i've been recording, SANTANA, Al Jerreau, Teddy Riley, SADE etc. have all been accused of the same thing. WOW what a scoop. I know many more and by the way i work with these folks. Now can we get back to the song?

  • I agree. If the artists weren't being paid, I'm sure they wouldn't have made so many CDs with more in the works. Rumors will be rumors and we'll see the truth in time. Besides that, I <3 Incognito and can't wait to see them live.

  • I somehow prefer this version

  • Love the original, this is a nice comtemporary version.

  • I have to agree that this song should of been played at it's original tempo. Anyone who has heard the original version knows it was more mellow and spititual. Some songs style or tempo should never change. In this case it is better to remain true to the recording. Incognito is a great enough to stamp their own personality without making this song a hyper version to the Jones Girls song. Dexter Wansel, Gamble&Huff knew what they were doing when they wrote and produced this song.

  • i played with dexter. he always wanted to do things live much different than studio versions. spiritual songs don't lose thier texture due to tempo changes. scriptures don't lose message due to the rythm of the pastor's speech. every pro i know and work with prefer doing the work diffently do keep life in the piece. kenny gamble didn't write the song with the jones girls in mind. it's about the message not the messenger. again i applaude incognito for bringing the tune back to life.

  • wonderful work from my friends incognito. the cats are tight and giving light at the same time. looking forward to working with them soon.

  • nice. Shame the voices are so loud with respect to the instruments...

  • the original is better, this tempo is to quick..

  • Go Kelli.

  • this songs great...

  • kelli sae sing that sh!t !!

  • what a powerful yet fun performance! been watching it over and over all day haha

  • I would've loved to have been there.

  • Tight TIGHT horns, babay!!! These guys sure know how to Jazz Funk it to the max.

I'm on the verge of fainting, I swear - it just blows me away.

  • THIS IS ON THE MONEY. GREAT SOUND!!!

  • Love it, but anyone have the original version of NOE by the Jones Girls? I've never seen these sistahs perform and with one in the grave I never will.

  • Yeah, i would love to see the original also.

  • me 2 dammit

  • I have the original on CD. It's definitely not as up-tempo as Incognito's version. It's more mellow and slow.

  • I actually played keys for Jones Girls for four shows in London UK in '92 + '93. They were great, consumate professionals and lovely girls. Very sad news.

  • cool!!! cool vibes!!!

  • love it
