  • Love this band I see good things to come and a big year for them this is not the best song too much love John burns

  • Desde Galicia (España) me habéis llegado al corazón. Sois una bocanada de aire fresco !! Enhorabuena!!

  • Makes me feel good again.

  • oh god

    oh, my god,

    i'm gonna cry

  • Absolutely beautiful, I don't think Later... has seen a more perfect act since, except perhaps Laura Marling. They are genuinely the best band ever; completely underrated, and this song is possibly their best.

  • Beautiful music, The deserve to go far

Although, instrumentally they are brilliant, Briggs's vocals sometimes fall just a touch short when they're live,

but that a thing that makes live music fantastic i suppose

  • I saw them yesterday at the moseley folk fesival and they were amazing!

  • Im Acing On Over!

  • made me cry , so beautiful

  • Ive never even heard of this show :/ buut so glad these guys are named after my home town! They are freakin awesome!!

  • Such a lovely, brilliant, beautiful and some how sad and tragic song. lyrically its perfect....this is the soundtrack to all our lives.

  • Love the bass line

  • Proper glass held high music. Thank you, lads.

  • I love it!

  • i never knew Sheldon from Big Bang Theroy played keyboard??

  • @pepsiman0215 Sheldon would make the best keyboardist!!!

  • New these guy when they were tiny. Loved them then. Love them now.

  • smile day awesome !

  • 3 people have their own opinions, and we should respect that. they're wrong though.

  • has to be said when you're actually from stornoway its very odd hearing jools holland saying it!

  • Like this live version more than the album vers.

  • one of those songs that you can put on repeat and not get board!

3 people a complete DICK HEADS!

i love this song because it's so true! i can listen to this song and hear it screaming "YOUR LIFE"... if you get what i mean XD

  • Bass player is amazing

  • MY GOD just afterwards the Foo Fighters were playing!!!

Only them could follow this with no problem!

  • but they hadn't ever been there before they named the band....he said when i saw them live....

  • @thedeafparrot Er, yes I think they were aware of the existence of the place...

  • epic. and poignant.

  • You know a band is amazing, when the live song comes up on your playist and you thought it was the recorded version.

Finally a band not dependent on the special machines in the studio!

  • I am an acoustic guitarist and play a cover of this song at quite a few gigs - new song on my page. check it out. thanks x

  • Oh how beautiful.

  • If they are from Oxford why are they called Stornoway; shouldn't they be called The Total Punts or some such?

  • great band

  • Good. Darn good.

  • who would think a brotha from harlem would be listening to these guys but u gotta respect good music...pure talent....no auto-tunes!

  • @pleasantcrew I'm not sure I understand what you mean. You mean that you are supposed to listen to hip hop? DON'T EVER fit into a cultural mold. Besides, there is lots of folk music in Africa.

  • @Neurozumim believe me im not that incompetent. when you are not exposed to an eclectic atmosphere you are not quite accumulated to this type of music, you might be a little tone def at the first attempt of listening. over the years i have been introduced to to various music types so i have learned to respect and except it.

  • damn good band!

  • best coming of age song

  • BASS LINE

  • i'm addicted to this song! the lyrics, the sound... it is exactly how i feel :/

  • Really liked this song, my favorite of this band so far.

Liking the indie sound more and more.

  • Quite simply one of the most poignant, moving and beautiful songs I have heard in my life.

  • @89arjan, thats the best comment i;ve heard on youtube in a fucking long time. Cheers mate

    =D

  • sincerity in lyrics. who can’t recognize the realness and authenticity we all experience in our lives, in these lyrics... and can ya really respect the top-40 artists in the same way?

  • SO GOOD OMG.

  • Can't wait!!! Gonna see them Dec 2cd...:)

  • Can't get their album (Beachcombers windowsill) off my turntable. My son hates it but he's only 12, what does he know.

  • 2:43 Nora Jones is soo Hott! And of course...Stornoway is awesome

  • Saw them in Cambridge yesterday - they are SO good live. Amazing :)

  • Great modern folk, raw and real and a handsome bunch of Lads to boot-promising future for Stornoway I should say :0)

  • fantastic tune..... get on it you young uns, they are telling you lots... I think these lads will go far, atm they are doing "indie folk" but they will move on down that road.

They will travel on .... fantastic lyrics , good people, and keep going.

  • the lyrics.. wow. :'] they feel so relevant to me, but idk. their probs like that for everyone.

  • @Owlesque1 get over it.

  • @Owlesque1 You have a right to be annoyed but it's not as important as your chance to appreciate a beautifully written and presented song. Now and again I have to swallow my annoyance to taste the true flavour of a song.

  • so rediculously good live :D

  • I am proud to say about 1000 of those plays are mine, hahaha. Seriously, this song is just amazing.

On March 22nd they released their third single, "I Saw You Blink" and are due to start their 2010 tour in April and in May will play in their namesake town, Stornoway.

  • There is no rewind, so you might as well play......

    Wonderful tune. Thank you.

  • 25th may there album, should be epic :)

  • This is awesome. The band is great, the thought that they are a bunch of guys with loads of talent without the need of computers or thousands of promotion money. I was worried that good music was dying in the modern scene. Phew!

  • Thanks Jools Again

  • How are they not signed up? Real talent yet we keep getting fed X factor fame junkies and unfortunately lap it up

  • @gpmweb I thought they were signed up??.. They were playing at Glastonbury =S

  • @gpmweb

they are signed to 4ad records. A good choice I think.

  • @gpmweb That's called indie. Artists who don't need a big, controlling record company to publish their albums.

  • @89arjan the shit thing is that most need a 'big controlling record company' to publish their albums and gett'em exposed. its just the reality of it man.

  • @89arjan Too bad that nowadays any band that wants to gain more audience labels itself as 'indie' - today term "Indie" can mean anything and thus "indie" bands are mostly full of crap. Too bad, 'cause Stornoway is, on the other hand, amazing.

  • i love these lyrics and i love the feeling his unique voice so effortlessly fills them with.

    AAH! cannot possibly get enough.

poor jools looked a tad disconcerted with his little mess-up at the beginning.
