  • Norway is dead

  • people in oslo very lucky , happines quiet , beautifull , - look around , world is a fuckin shit everywhere around you

  • awesome

  • tune at 2:44?

  • i dig this video

  • motorhead... from hell... lol tht was funny but hardly true motorhead aint got nothing on this

  • this is a great documentary. im so glad i got this album.

  • people have been saying the end is near for ages.

  • @heavytom89 maybe a second for God is 8 lifetimes ya know?

  • @horridedifice what are you talking about??

  • "Motorhead from Hell"... fitting.

  • 2:00 REPINED BASTARD NATION!!!!!!!! \m/

  • ...In rock'n'roll, you have an excuse for being arrogant, but once you get to real depths, you're forced to maturing. Perhaps that's one thing Satyr should consider. The journalist in the video makes a good point his arrogance is related to his confidence as a composer - a confidence Satyricon coudln't do without. However, I hope time will come for Satyr to realize rigidity does not imply arrogance, and his melancholic side is the most alluring, perhaps also most black metal.

  • "I drink black coffee and smoke cigarettes all night. I know I'll never come out of these blues alive. I'm doomed." (JL Hooker)

Frost is a bit mistaken in his constant dwellings on the supposed "darkness" of rock'n'roll. Rock'n'roll is pop music for the kids, and as the great Fred McDowell said, "I do not play no rock'n'roll, yo, just straight and natural blues."

  • Following your logic, Lady Ga Ga is more likable than Satyricon, because more people like her.:)

There are far more interesting thing to be discussed, like the roots of black metal. I'd go further than Frost and assert that the blues are the darkest music, because if black metal originates from rock'n'roll, rock'n'roll originates from the blues.

  • More people like Lady Gaga than Satyricon because

    a.) Shes mainstream, Satyricon isnt

b.) Shes in a completely different music genre than Satyricon so that logic doesnt apply

but yes youre right we should discuss about these kinds of things. I dont agree with you on somethings, but at least i can say that you have a kick ass taste in music :)

  • Not only do you fail to realize that everything you say doesnt go against what i said that the majority of the fans say Nemesis is their best album, but you tend to sway from the argument saying that frost didnt like the drumming. Yes, the band is going to have their own opinion on their own album but it doesnt change the fact that Nemesis sold the most and is considered the best album by fans, not to mention, one of the darkest black albums along with Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk (Emperor)

  • Ah, but I've had no intention to argue on what the "majority" thinks - Argumentum ad Populum is apriori a false argument in logic. As to the "darkness", and "blackness" (which is indeed the only thing in your statement that deserves mentioning), Frost says you should go back in history class.:)

  • dude you obviously don't know what your talking about. The Shadowthrone and Nemesis Devina were flawless, not to mention, their most purchased and popular albums. I saw them twice in concert and they came out for an encore and Satyr asked what the audience would request and they all shouted "Mother North" from Nemesis Devina. Now, Diabolical was good but it doesnt hold a flame to those 2 albums. Those albums were the blackest of black metal where as Now,Diabolical was more "Black and Roll"

  • It seems it is you who has no idea what you're talking about. You'd have to go argue with Satyr and Frost themselves. I have personally read hundreds of their interviews (I run a pretty thorough fan page), and Satyricon have explicitly stated they see Nemesis Divina as nothing special from today's standpoint. As far as what the masses shout, I can't be less concerned. They once shouted "Hail Hitler". That was "trve kvlt" back in the day.

  • Running a fan page doesn't mean anything considering the fact that its unofficial. What you said about Satyr and Frost was completly made up. Taken from blackmetalarchive: "Nemesis was a great pinnacle and truly one of our more blacker albums. Each song tells a story, It is very moving. We changed our style since Rebel Extravaganza because we wanted to try a new approach but Nemesis holds a special place in my heart and will always be my favorite."

  • Frost: Nemesis Divina, I cant listen to that album without feeling insanity because I feel the drumming is really weak. By my standards today, its extremely amateurish, and theres no way to look at it in another way. I think that Ive done a pretty good job on Now, Diabolical. It takes a lot to drum like that. Playing simple, but correct and powerful takes a lot for me. Its a lot more mentally challenging than physical and thats a bigger obstacle than anything to overcome.

  • try going to one of their concerts. You'll see why fans always request Nemesis than any other song from any of their albums. Their newer albums are good but are never be as good. They even said in the Norwegian paper 2 months ago that they are taking a 2 yr hiatus and returning with a new style and that they could lose some fans because of it. You know why? Cause the fans prefer their traditional black metal

  • If they're losing you as fan, I wonder what you're doing here commenting on a Satyricon documentary. There are plenty of bands playing oldschool black metal for your interest - leave Satyricon to appreciators of good music. Many like myself discovered Satyricon with their later installments which showed accelerating progression. Asserting that an early black metal album is "better" than a modern/progressive one, is laughable.

  • ...as far as "trying one of their concerts", I've seen five within a year. The Age of Nero had massive response. As far as them saying "they could lose some fans", I don't recall that, but it could only mean they would hardly lose their sleep over losing some corpsepaint lovers. I am looking forward to next Satyricon's experiment, and I couldn't care less even whether it would be metal (which of course it will). Your nostalgia for the stone age and yearning for repetition is pathetic.

  • And here's one more for you: "The style of music that were doing now is closer to the original black metal of the 80s. I dont view it as detached from general black metal expression. Thats done by people who havent done their history lessons I guess. I like more rock n roll based black metal like Bathory and Celtic Frost and I like the very strong, dark substance that's found its place in Satyricons music. In the later years, we sound far more black and refined that we ever have before."

  • again you keep swaying from my argument that the majority of satyricons fans prefer Nemesis over Now, Diabolical. Im not saying that i dislike satyricons new style, im saying their older style is more likable and even the fans say so and the fact that you say majority of the fans are stupid because they like Nemesis more than ND is just flat out ignorant

  • I guess I should've used simpler words to point out that you have no argument. "An argumentum ad populum (Latin: "appeal to the people"), in logic, is a fallacious (repeat: fallacious) argument that concludes a proposition to be true because many or all people believe it; it alleges, "If many believe so, it is so." It bears no consequence to the qualities of the record. Millions like Britney Spears, and I'd dare to think it's more likely that they're stupid, than me - ignorant.:)

  • just because people like Brittany Spears doesnt mean theyre stupid, they just like her music, and just because they like her music doesnt mean theyre stupid even thought people like us disagree with them

  • whats the name of the last song i love it

  • That's "The Rite of Our Cross" from "Now, Diabolical".

  • Rite Of Our Cross from Satyricon's best album in many people's opinion: Now, Diabolical

  • many peoples opinion? I would say the majority of ppl say Nemesis Devina is their best

  • The majority of people are idiots, and that's a well known fact.
