  • you should be playing every blues fest in the world. you guys are the real blues!!

  • very nice

  • this swings like crazy, you guys even that late 40's early 50's look goin' on without emphasize it to much.

  • *****Good 50's sound. I like to invite you to my channel to my Bluescartoons (1 minute each) on jIMMY REED &SONNY BOY II

    Have a great week

  • Absolutely Great!!The band is fabulous!! No overplaying and the harp was right off the chess LP!! GREAT!!Can't top this!!Excellent

  • Man, you guys are truly something else. I might suggest that you try standing up when you perform, really would add an element to your stage presence.

  • i AGREE THERE IS MORE DRAMA WHEN YOU ARE STANDING--IT ROCKS MORE...

  • You are absolutely amazing! Little Walter coming from the grave- and he is bouncing as hell!!! Great section-the guitar player has what it takes!

Would like to meet You guys one day and jam a bit.

  • What a fantastic band....not just spot on in every respect but really brings Walter and his band's music alive; keep on keepin' on guys!

  • Great harp. What type of harp are you using? You really have that great alternating raw and smooth sound that I like in a harp.

  • Damn they are good, wow! great job!

  • Wow, thta is real good harmonica playing.

The backing band add the "feel" of the time, tight and yet laid back. In particular the "fat' and "sleezy" harmonica soud is fantastic. Who is the harmonica player and any cd's dvd's around? Thanks

  • Fantastic blues, guys! 5*

  • Check me into DMI!

  • Great rendition on Little Walter, but who are you?

  • damn! i say again, DAMN! OUT OF SIGHT! I love it when I come across bands like this on the web....way better than most.

I saw on your myspace that you have hooked up with Hummel and Watson. You guys should do some sort of Midwest/Canada Blowout and be sure to put Lansing, MI on the schedule.

Ever play stateside? Gotta mailing list? I want on it if you're ever going to play down this way.

  • That's as good as it gets.

The playing is great all around, but you're ability to nail that tone is amazing.I know it's more you than anything, but are you doing it through a Masco?

    I'm astounded.

  • nice playing as always..is that a richter tuned chrom?-JJ

  • You got it

  • You guys played at the puzzle factory? I did not know gigs were done there.

    Great job. Whose on piano?

  • Peter Mika on Piano , Ben Caissie on drums, Mark Peetsma, Colin Perry on Guitar

  • Thanks.

  • Sweeeet ! You guys just keep getting better and better ! Great stuff !

  • Man.. this band kick ass... really cool, i would love to play with you, im a blues guitarrist from brazil, man u have to come here to play... im glad that are still bands and groups making jazz and blues live trough the years.. thank you!

  • I don't know who you geezers are but you really have a handle on that vintage sound - get into the studio pronto

  • Bharath, great sound. Keep 'em coming.

    Your bro,

    Nick

  • Great work, you guys sound massive!

  • Really diggin' you guys ! What killer f**kin' band bro ! Keep up the great work , hope to catch your show sometime , thanks again -Tommy

  • Your humility is most impressive considering how accomplished a player you are. Pierre (whom I know personally) was a very young man when he did his cover, and he never played it in my presence years later. He is a harp guru here in Boston, led a Band called "The Cambridge Harmonica Orchestra" back in the late 80's of which I was a member. Magic Dick's and Sugar Ray are his only equal in these parts.

  • Id love to hear his stuff ... he sounds like a great player ... Thank you for all the kind words and Im so glad you can enjoy these videos ... We have alot of fun making them and if people can dig it Im really happy ...

    B

  • This is some of the finest Walter-esque harp I've heard. I've been playing for 40 years and have never come close to this mastery of tone, timing and phraseology. Bravo! Would you attempt Everest..."Roller Coaster"? Pierre Beauregard recorded an awesome cover of it many years ago with a DC area band called Powerhouse, but you guys rule!

  • Yes, Yes, Yes, where have you been all my life?????

I would love to get you gentlemens to Norway!!. We got a lot's of bluesfestivals, with the "Notodden Bluesfestival" as the up front. You guys sounds so great that...........well, I'm not that good in English, in Norway we say; "nakkehåra reiser seg". I really hope to meet yoy som day here in Norway!

    Best regards

    Knut Langslet

  • Woa....greetings from Sweden and respect for you guys nice music.

I´ve been playing blues and harp for many yrs myself....and it still upsets me in a way when ppl, quite often, are looking for authentic, perfectly correct tone by tone copied stuff...and sound.

Blues are made to be interpretated individually from each and everyone blessed with the gift of playing an instrument and as we are, blueslovers.

Way to go man.I really digged what you and your band did on this vid Respect

  • Bharath:

Don't sweat all these 'revialist' comments and those about civil war reenactments, most are projections of the egos in the harmonica world. You & your band are top shelf musicians, I say : Give me a man who sings at his work. Right On BB&R4!!!

  • Wow , really great sound remember me that old little walter and muddy watters live album .

    Hi from france guys !

  • Not bad !

The harp tone is authentic - the vocals are a bit strained.

    Tight rhythm section.

All in all a noble effort at covering one of Walter's finest compositions.

Keep on blown that harp ! ! !

    JT Ross Harmonica Boss

  • Oh thanks bud, was checkin out your site and songs ... Youre, not bad! ... real polished my man ... real polished ... Dig that California sound ...

    Bharath

  • I have been listening to blues for 40+++ years... LOL.......... You guys are AWESOME!!

  • Thanks, Im glad you enjoy the songs , and thanks for sayin so ...

    B

  • very fine, very fine indeed, after 40+ blues years of blues watching I'm impressed, why not send a copy of your CD to Blues & Rhythm magazine, I'm sure they would review it

  • The more I listen to The Rhythm Four, the more I realize how good you are! I have only heard the big blowers...Mark Hummel...Kim Wilson etc competing with full bands...this is awesome! I love the accoustic feel that allows you to actually hear how brilliant the harp is! I think Little W would have been proud!!

  • All the comments below are earned. You guys are fantastic. I'm not particularly a fan of "revivalist" players, but when somebody gets inside of a style and makes it live, I'm a fan. I'm a BIG fan of you guys. Best I've heard in a hell of a long time. I hope you make big money doing this. --Adam Gussow

  • Thank you Mr Gussow for saying so and I'm glad you enjoy the music ... I definitely don't feel like a revivalist ... I know this music, and this music alone, So I guess I got no choice but to be in it 100%, It literally saved my life from a desperate life ... I see you have quite a thing goin on yourself ... It's nice to see people playing this instrument with passion and not as a toy ... good on ya my friend ...

  • Let's keep in touch , and maybe one day we'll get to say hey in person ... I'm sure we will .. it's a small world and an even smaller community of dedicated interest ... Have a goodun !

    Bharath

  • Bharath:

I do hope my comments on "Oh Baby" bespoke nothing but praise for your abilities, and your band's; I realize in retrospect that by invoking the word "revivalist" at all, rather that straight-up raving, I probably do sound like I'm qualifying my praise. Truth is, I've spent the past year on my YouTube channel insisting that harp players needed to be bold and make it new...

  • ...But you really are an exception to everything I've said. I've seen Piazza, Harman, Kim, Paul Oscher, Mark Hummel, Jerry Portnoy, all of the guys who work that style, plus Cotton, Carey Bell, Junior Wells, Billy Branch, Sugar Blue--I've seen everybody live that a harp player my age could have seen, live--and you stand alone as the only player who can actually bring the spirit of Little Walter back to life in your playing. THAT, my friend, is something new. And I salute you for it.

  • Mr Gussow , your words are too kind and I appreciate that someone like you is actually teaching people how to play this instrument ... praise to you my friend ... I really appreciate you takin the time to do so ... and man , theres nothin wrong with new , I agree , you always have to learn a language but eventually you have to speak your own words and thoughts with it ...

    Bharath

  • And don't sweat it at all, I took no offense at your comment whatsoever

  • Good job guys. Where are you from?

  • If I ever get rich (unlikely) I'm gonna pay you to tour over in the UK, absolutely brilliant.

  • haha thanks ... let me know when ! we're there

    B

  • Well, I wamt more of that, Great playing!

    Bluesman in Sweden

  • Awesome, absolutley awesome! This is the thing!!

  • Great job fellows! Got little Walter down, harp player can't do it if the band ain't doin' it right & you guys are on the money!

great to hear young cats doing it right, you guys been doing a lot of wood shedding! Most musicains don't understand the genre & the nuances of the music. I know cause I've spent my life playing it and still learning everday. Hope you get down my way, VA / DC area. Ronnie

  • Amazing band and amazing voice!

the blues is in the house!

  • Great stuff....Fantastic sound !

Say Hi to my good friend Ben.

    Roy Thompson.

  • You are all FANTASTIC! I've been waiting for people to do Little Walter music like it should be played for so long. Pickers Paradise and Casali A are mighty good too. We don't get anything like this in London (England); we had Fleetwood Mac in 1968 or thereabouts but that was a LONG time ago!

  • Lawdy! French harp as serious as a heart-attack....and can sing.

    Band swings as well.

How does Canada produce ( Michael Pickett, Harpdog Brown ) these harmonica prodigies?

  • Thanks my friend , Glad you like it ... You should hear Dr. Nick and the Rollercoasters ... and Joe Murphy they're really great ! and Dave Hoerl ... Canada produces em the same way the U.S does ... by listenin' to the old greats on record and doin their best to play with the old greats whenever they come to town ...

  • Lawdy! French harp as serious as a heart-attack.....and can sing.

Band swings as well. How o How does so much good blues harmonica ( Michael Pickett,Harpdog Brown ) come out of Canada?

Bharath and ensemble - you have my respect.

  • Is Chromatic that you are using Koch or Slide harp?

  • Koch Richter scale

  • i think you're getting some deserved attention buddy. Don't forget your old friends when you hit the big time brother. i still need alot of your help brother.
