Hello...I love this truck...I drive one my self in Canada. As long Volvo going to built this trucks i'm going to buy one after one...Best regards...Mike
Ronnie C2144: I have had two VT880 and have had savere engine troubles and this last one Volvo given up on trying to solve the problems the engine has and patch the just enough to get it back on the road. It is not the dealers I go to it is Volvo and the E-Service group in Greensboro that do not have clue what the problem is or Just don't care if you broke down it not there problem and at 9.pm Thay go and do not care your truck is fixed or not . This will be the last Volvo I will ever own if
Drove one of these for about 9 mos, known for its smooth ride, top of the line seat for comfort, and so roomy my food started to spoil in the cabinets--a problem I never had in my Freightliner afterwards. I think the repair costs were a little high for my company, and the thing wouldn't give a tight steering ratio to save your life, so still some room for improvement.
Nice trucks but as far as corporate videos go, this is one of the dullest I've seen. It might as well be Hank Hill narrating and it sounds like porno music in the background.
@CyberPassenger dood i yould give you 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 thumbs up for that comment
nice trucks, i just wish they'd fix the problems they have with the electrical system. I just finished training with Swift and I go Monday to pick-up my truck, a Volvo. Sometimes while driving the headlights will go from lowbeams to highbeams and then the wipers come on without the driver touching anything.
@trysegai I drove Volvos for a number of years. What you were experiencing is actually not a system fault, but rather a self test that happens every certain amount of miles or hours to check the systems. It's dumb, but not a problem unless you're a driver going the other direction...lol!
you can import one without too many problems, the lengt is a problem, but for some transports it can work fine, thinking about getting a us truck sooner or later.
many countries in europe and many different laws and ways of looking at those laws. there is a kenworth dealer in france and as soon the truck is imported to a EU country another EU country cant stop it being sold and used in that country, that is how it should work, but nothing is easy, sweden have its own crash test standards that a truck needs to meet to be road legal there. all volvos meet those standards naturally.
Well, american trucks are so long, and that is a problem because many countries in EU, Norway included (I think) has a maximum lenght of trucks witch is 18 meters. Sweden and Finland are exceptions though, I think the maximum length there is 25 meters. American trucks in europe means smaller containers.
yes, but construction trucks and where the lenght is not that big of a deal could be areas where us trucks could be used. we have problems in sweden where our short tractors are to heavy, longer wheelbase on semis meens we are too long again. not easy to be a trucker:)
volvo vnl670 and the volvo vnl780 are the best trucks to me

in norway it seems that the officials dont want to have american trucks on the roads, but cant stop it, only delay them getting on the road.

Unfortunally, Eu told us that we can´t keep that crash test as a demand for trucks to be sold in Sweden.
EU doesn´t care about driver safety !!!!!
That crash test is the best thing a driver ever can ask for in a truck, not all that electronic and automatic things they put in today...
