what with a GT40R. are you made. it probably hasn't spooled at 4000RPM.

these turbo's are desinged to flow right up to the redline so his peak power is probably around the 6500rpm - 7500rpm

uumm no its like 18/25 in a mitsubishi evolution... at least, and that was with alot of upgrades including cams tbe(turbo back exhaust) and intake pretty much everything besides::: injectors and turbo! every thing was modded still got great mileage

they get about the same as most domestic muscle cars. but remember that these are all around better cars, much better control and you get awd for rough weather

can you explain this a lil more? isnt it mandatory to change the fuel injectors if you go FI, so that means more fuel and air mixture comes in every cylinder, so how is it become more fuel efficient? im thinking about getting the greddy kit for my little xd.. hehe.. thanks.

true, with a big turbo you definitely need bigger injectors. but the amount of gas going into the engine is still controlled by the amount of boost being produced. so while at high boost, a lot more gas can be injected into the engine, at low boost, those levels should still be similar/the same. someone correct me if i'm wrong?

Im kinda newb to the whole turbo thing, but what causes that spool up sound on the gt40r? Is it the fins? The fact that its ball bearing? Because my friend has a 57trim with a gt40 wheel and it doesnt make that spool sound.  I really want that on mine. Please explain.

That would just be the turbo, without the airfilter and with the hood up. I havent heard a 57trim so I cant really compare it. Good luck with your build.

Why is it laggy? Its not for me, my power band is 4500 to 9000rpm.

Only haters with small turbos complain about the lag that doesn't exist. I have a 35R, and there is not much lag once you have adjusted to how it drives, and where your power band resides. I am running full boost from 4100-8K, but I might raise the rev limiter after this go around in the shop.

Even at the race tracks you put ice packs on ur intake.Cold is good, heat is bad. 1st warm up your car than put bags of ice on ur intake befor a run. Learn something new all the time

Sweet Sube. Friend of mine has a 2.5RS with STI conversion and the 35 series turbo and he leaves out in Az. When it cools down I'll probably take the boosted C5 out there and chill with him and another friend who has a stroked Evo 8. God I love boost! V8, 4cyl, Rotary, 6cyl, don't matter.
