Would your spiritual journey have been different if you had been a part of a fully accepting and affirming congregation while on your path? I would like to think that a community like mine, Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren, would have made a difference in your faith journey. Do you think that would have been a possibility? It's Kayte - Jake's girlfriend. We met when you came over to his house quite a while ago :) I loved the short film, I think it's fantastic to see how everyone's lives have been a part of Calvin's journey. If everyone had parents like Calvin's mum and dad, and a loving and emotionally intelligent partner, we would live in a safe, happier, brighter and kinder world. What a moving, wonderful documentary about a man I have not yet met, but whose creative talents and generous heart are -- I am grateful to say -- keenly familiar to me.

Very touching story. I think it is brave and generous for Calvin and his family to meet this head on and to allow themselves to be on camera for us to see. It terms of religion, I think these people out grew theirs. Good job on the doc, Paul.
