@hobo1975 Thanks to you hobo1975, hope can be used in the right way for all you guys,... and start becoming part of the Italian Bel Canto with passion and knowledge
The technique actually has some wonderful aspects to it, however you can tell that these Italian students don't practice as much as American singers. There is a lot of inconsistency. They naturally have the approach to singing necessary because of the language, and they go to master teachers who do a lot of refining and fine-tuning. But you can tell she doesn't practice consistently because the pitch and support and vowel formation choices are inconsistent, shakey, and unpredictable. PRACTICE!!!
I bet a lot of these negative comments from all these trolls really can't sing. Even if her voice is aged she can easily reach both high and low octaves. Can the rest of you do the same?
@deterrese, You might want to check out the video "Master Class Series with Mezzo-Soprano Denyce Graves," even though it's not a specific lesson on training a light voice. ;)
@RonaldBarone - wow could you be any more arrogant? She shouldn't be singing? And precisely who are you to make such judgments "Mr. Elvira Swinging Boobs"? To say someone shouldn't be singing is like saying they shouldn't be living. Regardless of her technique you have NO place to pronounce such a sentence.
Can one really describe breath support as "vulgar". To use such a word just reeks of self-proclaimed proficiency, yet I see no evidence of your abilities to the contrary.
This man obviously is musical, and understands the traditions of Italian opera. HOWEVER, he isn't correcting anything technical. She has TERRIBLE technique. he is encouraging this over-weighting of the voice on very little support (see how her body around her belt never moves at all). The high notes are damaging, detached from the rest of the voice (because of the over-weighting), wild and out of tune. She should go to a technical teacher then come back to him later. ps yes I am a pro singer
@jibbyjane Yep. There are 1000s of oung singers putting their trust in ppl like this. The pressure to get noticed early on must be immense, but how can he not pull her up about the support thing? It's a real pity. I wonder how she'll sound in 2 years :/
Terrible covered singing! It's like Callas on a bad day - and let's face it, she had few good ones. I'll give her two years before the voice is totally wrecked.

@JGOSPELS l'intonazione dipende della tecnica.
cantare? che bella parola...oggigiorno lei tra i pochi che parlano dell'intonazione...
Anche il professore e stonato...
E poi la voce di questa ragazza balla,balla,balla...
E questo si chiama canto?

She does have a beautiful voice... but... I am very sorry for what I am about to say, I might be wrong, but that what I think....
I can hear her breathing, and it sounds forced and it is very vulgar. She shouldn't be singing having those bad habits

False teaching & singing.
A far cry from true bel canto teaching.
Words not notes.
Mind not vocal chords and physicality.
Interpret the story not the melody.
Nature already has given her and all who aspire to sing, that which is needed to sing perfectly and beautifully. The truth is still hidden from both student and teacher.
Grant it he does refer to some elements which are important but yet he still teaches based on the sound of the voice, which is false. The correct lineage is important.

isn't the point of a masterclass to work on issues the singer is having? i think she's getting what she came for and with his coaching she will become an even better singer. She has intonation problems which he will work on is she continues to study with Maestro Canana.
Her tone is very open and i'm sure he will address this as well.
