I cried. She was so unique and her joy and love was bountiful. I loved her impact on the secular show, I think on VH1,where she lived in the celebrity home. She was supportive and never judged.

Tammy may have been a nice and likeable person (at least when the cameras were rolling), but she certainly did enjoy the good life with lots of money and adoring fans.

And who paid for it all? The flock,  the sheep paid for it. Hope that makes you feel better.

That being said, I did find Tammy entertaining to watch and that was it.

back in the mid 70s i was on the jim and tammy show.they lived in portsmouth va and worked for pat robertson the station was wyah tv 27.not long after that they moved away and built the ptl network.they were very nice people back before they went big time.

Tammy Faye was truly the shining light in the PTL ministry. Long after the scandals and fallout, she lived true to the Christian principles of love, grace, and mercy. No matter what the background story really was with the whole Bakker thing, she came out a woman of class and godliness.

I was born again and set free from severe alcoholism and suicidle lifestye instantly in Feb 1978 through watching their PTL program they aired on tv. They bought a testimony of a lady from NY that day and it reached me way up in the Alaskan bush and all alone in my living room , I experienced the presence of God so strongly. I was tormented by demonic thoughts of self suicide and also to take my three little ones with me at the time. then came PTL for one hour. Ran out of space.

Thank you SO much for posting this! :) I'm an atheist, someone who's beccome wary of 'organized religion' for LOTS of reasons...........and Tammy Faye seemed to embody the "love thy neighbor" and "judge not, lest ye be judged" FAR more than any other 'known' Christian, as far as I'm concerned.

No matter how you feel about her beliefs/opinions, I think it's obvious that Tammy Faye was a sincere and _truly_ loving person. She is VERY missed!

I have to say watching old clips of Tammy Faye (I'd only recently heard and read about her) she used to be a very attractive young woman. Certainly more attractive than Jessica Hahn imho! When she was older though unfortunately she started to look more and more like a drag queen, and will be remembered with the over the top image, not the cute, fresh faced all American girl of the past. A shame, but a fascinating life story!

I found this video by accident. My Nana used to unwrap all the Zest soap to make it last longer, but she didn't hear it on the show.  I remember watching t.v. one time when I only got two channels... Tammy was making some king of candy with leftover mashed potatoes and confectioner's sugar. I must look for that recipe online. ;)

You know, I may not have agreed with everything Tammy said or did, but I must admit that I truly admired and respected her for how she faced the trials in her life. I think her and Jim were sincere people who let things get away from them, and any of us are prone to do. She faced her illness like a true Christian, leaning on the Lord right up to the end. This is a just a PRICELESS video! At 3:30 After Jim finally says "READ THE LETTER!", Tammy laughs hysterical and says "It's just the drugs". So now we know that she was using drugs a long time ago! It's too bad that people like them fell into stuff like that. She appears quite sane/balanced in this video, but as we all know -- NOT FOR LONG! And notice how Jim's very feeble attempt in trying to cover it up! HA- THIS IS FUNNY !

Shes laughing because she said to put soap "in your draws" and then realized afterwards that it sounded like she meant put it in your underwear, hence why she re-iterated "chest of draws", as in the piece of furniture. Jim was embarrassed at the potentially "crude" thought and worried that the audience might be offended, and thats why he tried to keep going and ignore the comedy of the situation.
