  • Your honor...my client.........WOULD LIKE TO PLEAD GUILTY!

  • Being that Canada's population of 33 million is spread out over the second largest country in landmass, there's a lot of variation in accent. The one he describes here is mostly just the eastern-most provinces.

I'm from BC, and I can assure you that very few people around here talk like that, unless they're fresh out of the maritimes.

    I won't deny that there's still a lot of "eh"ing though.

  • his canadian accents sounded more like a chicago accent. ala norm from cheers

  • ..i dont know what kind of canadian's you've been around but i don't sound like that...o.o at all

  • born and raised in atlantic canada and i can confirm every words, mannerism and sound he makes after the 3:05 mark is 100% accurate hahah

  • His attempt of east coast accent is awful. Here are the experts.

    /watch?v=1EDZMkrkGn0

  • i like this guy till now. im white canadian and i do not sound like that at all trust me

  • @TheMrhockeyman8 He's Canadian, get over it

  • @TheMrhockeyman8 Trust me, you do. I didn't realize how strong my family members' accents were until I lived in the US for half of my life.

  • Even if Idid laugh, I found this offensive.

  • Hey d*** face where do you get balls that large to f*** with a country that is got u a a I don't know your life

  • everything west of Ontario is not part of stereotypical Canada as America would see it.

  • @rasungod0 what about east, east ontario is more american

  • Why do Canadians always say ``eh``

  • @reddogcollar why do americans sleep with a gun under their pillows?

  • @reddogcollar Cause when we say "hey" we don't pronounce the "h". Like if I said "This guy is funny, hey" it would sound like "eh" cause we drop the h sound.

  • @reddogcollar I'm Canadian, and I'm actually not sure, kinda like why do Americans say y'all and ain't? :p

  • @reddogcollar Cuz it's a beauty way to go, eh! :)

  • I'm from Ontario and the swearing and the bobbing the head thing is so true lol.XD

except its worse for me because the french part of my family causes me to unconsciously wave my arms around when im talking lol.XD(I don't know why but thats what french canadians tend to do lol) on top of that we say "zed" instead of "zee" and we tend to say "eh" alot.(I dunno about other canadians but to me, saying "huh" after some of my sentences and saying "zee" instead of "zed" sounds wrong lol)

  • @azianna11 Im from Ontario too and have never noticed any of these things

  • @fourtothefloor1994

same...I never noticed until I watched this video lol.

  • un-yeh un-yeh.

  • @superJONNY135

    I'm from Manitoba.

    I laughed at your comment.

  • LOL The way us Canadian's swear. It's SO true and freakin funny because I never noticed it before until I watched this!!! LMAO

  • I am not Newf. I am 100% albertan, so i have no clue.

  • im no canadian, IM PURE NEWF BYY

  • I don't think it matters what part of Canada you're from, some people sound like that and some people don't. Group of us from Newfoundland and Nova Scotia went to England and everyone thought we were American just *because* we didn't sound like that.

  • Definitly a British Columbian thing. LOL

  • @DrayDray72 I'm from BC and I haven't seen that... but then again I'm in Maple Ridge

  • That would be Canadians from the east. I'm western, that is, excluding my western small town extended family....They sound exactly like that..

  • Pure bull....!!!!

  • I agree I live in Alberta and as far as I'm I know we sound pretty damn normal

  • @heartlandhorselover3 Albertans talk very slow I find. Common phrases by Albertans are, "you're fricken rights!" and "you betcha!"

  • I agree I live in Alberta we are pretty damn normal

  • I think it's an Eastern Canadian thing. No one in Alberta speaks that way.

  • it's depreesing how true that is.....

  • I've lived in Ottawa my whole life and almost everyone swears like that! LOL! Even myself...

  • My family in a nutshell. Go to the Ottawa Valley - this is bang-on!

  • lol the only part that is true is 'bullshiiiiit'

  • Comment removed

  • @theyear1906 interesting, because I've lived here my whole life and we all sound like that. Accept it and move on.

  • im canadian lol :P i never thought i had an accent... :P

  • tHIS IS SO FUCKING TRUE,... OH i LOVE IT!

  • Lol if you go to newfoundland, it sounds PERFECT

  • That sounds like an indian accent, not canadian

  • being canadian, the american accent(s) is waaay worse lol.

  • yep I have a Canadian accent...

  • HE'S FROM BRAMLEDESH (brampton) TOO!

In bramledesh, every corner you hear somebody speaking punjabi or a turban. XD

  • not every canadian is a newfie.

  • @sunshiining hey dude me to!

    i live close to st.johns byy =D

  • @sunshiining Are you fuckers still burning Canadian flags over on the Rock?! lolz

  • OMG HE'S IMPERSONATING MY BROTHER! Hahahahahahahahahaha!

  • what kind of cheese did u film this with?

    inbox me

  • this is midly offensive, BUT I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • ITS SOOO TRUE!!! even im canadian but seriously EVERYONE swears like that!! and even the guys when they talk to you its like OMG STOP MOVING YOUR HEAD!!!

  • ppl on the east coast talk like that

  • @jrd615 uh no. Many of you people don't have a clue. Go travel for christ sakes

  • My friend's dad sound's EXACTLY like that.

  • I <3 Russell Peters, but...i don't sound like that...probably because i'm from Montreal though...xD

  • I'm canadian and i absolutly not sound like this but it'e true about indian accent

  • LOL this is exactly how people where I live speak.

  • Good god , that guy is a JERK !! Please someone send that indian back to india...

  • omg the Canadian swearing thing was so funny! It's so true though!

  • Russell Peters is a Canadian. He was born here. He was born in Brampton. So he is as Canadian as a Canadian can be.

  • @cgdaviscg if he's from Brampton, he's not as Canadian as he can be lol

  • @cgdaviscg lol i live there

  • to everyone who says they've never seen an example of this, look no further than northen ontario. Bobblehead donkees are everywhere.

  • im guessing hes had alot of canadians laugh at his accent now hes trying to get payback.. canadians dont look like bobble heads and sound like donkeys.. lmfao hilarious thought but totally untrue..

  • BAHAHAHAHA! Im from Saskatchewan haha and he hit it dead on for the accent.

  • NEVER in my Canadian life have i seen those stereotypes in Canada..... ever.....!!

  • lol the swearing thing is true but not all canadians are rednecks! Maybe he should talk about (not aboot) how stupid Americans are. Canadians talk exactly the same as Americans, unless their from Newfoundland or way North. Just like Texas for the states. Only difference is that Canadians actually have something logical to talk about.

  • I'm from Saskatchewan, and Russell pretty much hit that accent dead on. Jesus christ.

  • Dumber than a bag of dicks this guy

  • Honestly lol Ive lived in canada my whole life and never heard people talk like that it's like putting on a redneck accent and then saying that's what americans sound like.

  • I worked with/met people from the Winnipeg area and I was surprised at how many had raspy voices . A cross between a football coach who has yelled to much and a kid going through puberty.I'm not sure if it's coincidence that alot of them had a odd voice but it was funny seeing them talk. It looked like they had to put alot of hard work and effort to say a sentence by their facial expressions.

  • I call this accent the "North of 7" . Once you start getting a hour or 2 north of Toronto and away from populated areas you'd be surprised how many people sound like this. But it's not like every other person talks like this I have noticed it's more common once you get North. Obviously it's not as strong as he deplicts. I've also found in Edmonton and Grande Prarie that you will noticed people talk more like this then other places in Alberta.

  • my buddy talks like 'bobble head'

but he dont bobble his head he's good shit.

    but @Juliemorgana you're right

  • Canadians have regional accents and class-related accents, so many accents that it is amazing.

  • People from Buffalo have an accent that makes my ears bleed. Why the eff can't you people pronounce your vowels correctly!?

  • ahaha omg this is like northern ontario people accent XD

  • "Hee Haww" *kicks leg* I can't believe I never noticed that I swore like that XD

  • its pretty fuuny, still havnt meet any canadian person who talks with their heads like that.. xp i am canadian (: but with the swearing.. yaa xD

  • I tried the recording thing you mentioned... still didn't pick that accent up and same for my friends. I'm sure we do have an accent... just not the one he mentions. He is probably just exagerating an accent he heard from someone while in the prairies, doesn't mean we all speak like that.

  • @SaphireAngel1988 You don't know that cause some things are invisible to humans when they're accustomed to it for their whole lives. I had a friend from China and she said to me that I had a Canadian accent, just like the one Russell Peters did. And I didn't believe her, so I recorded myself speaking and I found out that I do have an accent.

  • 31 people are Canadian.

  • @kingkongman21 fuck youuuuuuuuuuu ;)

  • @kingkongman21 I'm Canadian and I find this funny. Just some arse holes.

  • 240hp we meet again

  • Fuck'n Cape Breaton'ers and Newie's Giving the whole country a rep eh guys? haha

  • I'm from Manitoba and I don't speak like that and have never heard anyone speak like that and I've lived here my whole life, maybe it is a Saskatchewan thing...

  • @SaphireAngel1988 its funny because ur oblivious

  • @SaphireAngel1988 That's what Saskatchewan is for :-D It's so Manitoba can make fun of them.

  • @SaphireAngel1988 I'm From Toronto, I have traveled all of North America. I can say with confidence that people from Manitoba have such gross accents. I have many friends from Winnipeg and Brandon and I tell them all the time, they sound like their parents were related. lol

  • @SaphireAngel1988 pretty sure it's a newfy thing

  • @SaphireAngel1988 I'm from Saskatchewan and no one talks like that. It's just stupid Americans stereotype everything. Stupid fat slovenly Americans.

  • @AntiqueDasies you know russel peters is canadian right?

  • @SaphireAngel1988 no you sound like that, you just cant tell

  • @SaphireAngel1988 Wrong way. That's totally a Newfoundland thing. Also, everyone else to some extent. We just don't notice it.

  • @DubbleRaynebow Newfoundland? How so?

  • @5tar5z ... What do you mean "How so?" It's just a Newfoundland accent... There's not much to explain there.

  • @SaphireAngel1988 same with Ottawa except francophone

  • @SaphireAngel1988 Its not a bc thing either

  • @SaphireAngel1988 I'm from Saskatchewan and have never heard someone talk like that. But you heard him... we're completely... oblivious...

  • @SaphireAngel1988 im from Saskatchewan, its not us

  • @SaphireAngel1988 I'm from Ottawa but I know someone from a small town in Ontario and they totally talked like that. And I've been telling my American relatives that no one in Canada talks like that for years. I feel like a liar now.

  • lmao his canadian accent sounds just like don cherry

  • The Canadian accent he is referring to is a rural accent in Eastern Saskatchewan, (especially) Manitoba and Northern Ontario. The accent can be heard in several Northern US States too. (e.g. The movie Fargo.) Most of us Canadians find this accent annoying and hillbilly.

  • @GrandMasterKolbasa Exactly im form Toronto and i sound nothing like that.

  • @GrandMasterKolbasa and Newfoundland and PEI, BUDDAY.

  • @DKcomies Actually, townies in Newfoundland don't really have much of an accent. It's mostly just the baymen, or when we speak really fast... I've have Americans tell me I have a radio voice because of my lack of accent

  • 3:27, is so my uncle, he sounds exactly like that and he does the bobble-head thing

  • Comment removed

  • - ahahah thats some fuckkin funny ass shit :D

  • I can never tell a Cadanian apart from an American. lol Either, the Canadian accent is really minor or I'm just too stupid to hear a difference.

  • Okay guys just to clear this up

Toronto is officially the most multicultural city in the world.

And the thing about his canadian accent is the only people in canada with that type of accent live in NEWFOUNDLAND. The rest of canada sounds similar most people from northern USA. obviously we have an accent, everyone does compared to other people but that accent is only found in Newfoundland and if I had to listen to that everyday I would shoot myself.

  • @gengenabc123 thats not a newfy accent at all

  • Everyone has an accent. Everyone, from every country. I don't know why people argue about this stuff

  • I'm Canadian, and i cannot get over how true this is :P

  • No one cares what province it's from, it's a Canadian accent either way...come on people, do we really need a comment war over this?

  • oh god, I sound like a donkey. lmfao this is spot on.

  • As a Canadian woman, I need to start watching out for those Bobbleheaded Donkies.

  • Comment removed

  • man i am canadian but half arabic so i kinda have my own accent, but today i was standing in the bank and an old white canadian man was talking to me and his head was bobbing and the accent was thick lol nice guy though, Russell has it to a T, i witnessed it hours ago lol

  • @Brawn601 we really don't have accents, few canadians do, but i will admit we do say eh a lot

  • @ashley6048 Seriously? Ever been to Newfoundland? Torontonians have their own accent and manner of speaking: "Ya know what I'm sayin', eh? Ya know? F'in' A, man, eh?" They (multiples) exist. You can tell the difference between a West Coast Candadian from an Eastern Canadian in a heart beat, then there's the Albertans and Quebecois... You can NOT say Canadians don't have accents.

  • @stedgar369 live in the land what about er ?

  • @dimitrivesnof I live near Vancouver, BC, Canada. Why?

  • @stedgar369 Acadians have a different accent from the other Frenchies. Lol

  • LMFAO!!! AWESOME!!!

  • Omg, LMFAO! This was so freakin' funny! ROFL!

  • @Brawn601 lol you got that right

  • @Brawn601 @Brawn601 Depends where you're from.. If you're from the East there's a pretty strong accent there check the PEI encyclopedia You'll see..The West also has a distinct accent.. Really depends..same with the US.. people from the South have accents.. you can't deny that.. New Yorkers have a bit of an accent too

  • ahahaha only on the east coast guys. i'm from new brunswick and a lot of small communities talk like that around here. i wish you could here some of my relatives have a conversation you'd lose it.

  • @MetalRocks329 I know people from PEI, NB and NFL/L and they all have little differences in their phonetics and pronunciation. Like the joke; where do you find the tree's in NFL? Between da too's and da fars Buy!

  • pretty accurate..i'm from the ottawa valley and this def comes out when i'm drunk

  • making fun of others doesn't mean comedy....whom ever they might be...be careful while appealing to a particular group..i think he should mind his words..

  • Okay but heres the thing. As a 16 year old Canadian from Vancouver, when Russel Peters talks.. I dont hear an accent... but when he uses his "Canadian accent" ... that DOES sound like an accent to me. Like I havent heard that. If that WAS my accent, it would sound familiar to me. But it fucking sounds like... swedish or something. HAHAHAHA...

and THATS. How I know I dont speak like that.

  • The accent he's using is from Toronto and eastward. When you listen to your friends talk, they're repeating the same accent to you (localized speech patterns), not the same ones from Alberta, from PEI... So it's not your accent, but because you can't 'hear' your accent doesn't mean you don't have one.

  • I'm Canadian, my parents are Canadian, my grandparents are Canadian, my great-grandparents are Canadian, AND my great-great-grandparents are Canadian. I guess I have an accent, eh?

  • well im not that canadian :P

  • omg this guy is hilarious thnx for uploading

  • gay as aids

  • HA. HA. HA .. glad to be from Canada eh Russell??

  • im so proud that i live like 20 minutes away from russell peters house in Brampton :D

  • @carelesscupcake You are stupid then.

  • Indian accents are fucking AMAZING

  • This has so many views and so many likes yet is so far from accurate

  • Gotta Love the Land of the Proud And Free :) Proud TO be Canadian <3

  • And thus the Canadian and US comment fights start again

  • I've never been more proud to be Canadian.

  • He is from canada...

  • lol im canadian this is too funny to me!!! i lost it laughing ahh gotta love canada

  • @just306in Sorry, but I don't, and it's not an accent. Canadians just don't know how tp speak English. The French in France says you can't speak French either.

@jethrodassam what just cause Canada HATES fox cause they are completely stupid, does't mean it's an "ignorant statement" If anything it's true. America has started 90% of multi nation wars in the last 2 decades.

  • @RecklessRancor

wow....more like 90% of Canada think youre ignorant?? please list all "multi nation" lol..whatever that means.... last 20 yrs...show me this 90% figure... since youre not stupid , or ignorant...I mean you hate fox news, and america..so obviuosly youre very intelligent, with an abundance of facts to support your views...so lets see facts or point me to the sum of all your intelligence...the 10 or so, 3 min you tube vids uve watched about evil america.... thnx....
