I dont much care for ricer cars. I prefer real race cars like NASCAR or Formula 1. Musically Eruption is a 75 hp ricer car decked out with fart pipes and mag wheels, a stereo with a volume knob that goes to 11, but all it does is sit there in some Walmart lot, its engine revved into the red over and over and over to make the plastic trim chatter and rattle. Peers thought it was awesome and rushed home to modify their Honda Civics and VW Rabbits accordingly

therefore, the absense of the tapping part in this version of Erruption is a good indication that this version of Erruption is an early version of Erruption.

Correction, this is not from the "Civic Disobedience" nor "Strike While The Iron's Hot" bootlegs. It can be found on the "Eyes of the Night" bootleg. I have these boots & you can clearly hear the difference in EVH's tone, phrasing, choice of notes & structure. According to the Eyes bootleg it was recorded at the Pasadena Community College on 5/30/1976. I wasn't there but It could very well be possible that they played the college the next night. Or whoever made the boots incorrectly dated them.

@johnnybeane There was VERY little wah to speak of on Poundcake. There was a tad in the verse section rhythm but not much. He did use the wah quite a bit on that album, but contrary to popular belief it wasn't the first time he recorded with it. Listen to Cabo Wabo on 0U812 and you can hear it a little on the solo. of course he uses a lot of echo on that solo but the wah is there too.
