To get into the fly modes in air combos you need to pause before initiating it right? Every time I try fly combos with Doom and Iron man they always lead to me screwing them up because the TAC comes out.

Think about Guile on Street Fighter. For years he's had two (count 'em, one, two) special moves yet he continues to be one of the most engaging characters to play. He is one of the most solid Capcom characters from day one that they have had to make little improvement too.

Iron Man can play both ways. However he's not as effective at keep away against someone like Spencer or Thor who both have ways to get close to an opponent. The methods aren't safe but they are doable and they open up opponents for punishment. It's best to play him as a mixture of both. Use range attacks to try to create an opening then punish when one presents itself...

He can actually play pretty decent keepaway, and his assists and hyper's are pretty useful. Of course, if you bring Arthur into the picture, there's no competition for keepaway champ...

only fucking thing hes got going for him is useful supers, comparing him to arthur is bad cause arthur is the slowest character in the damn game, compare him to dr doom with umpteen different keepaway methods but not as useful supers i still would go with doom

Arthur is slow, but that doesn't really matter when you bring in all of his ranged weapons that are all really simple to use and have tiny cool-downs. They're also more damaging than Dr. Doom or Iron Man's attacks. Dr. Doom does have ways to cover nearly every kind of approach, but that doesn't make him anything more than an equal to the other two. Every character has uses, just because you don't use someone doesn't make them useless.

@AtomFA ironman is easy to use, is assist are very helpful (bounce, capture and beam, all of those are perfect to continue some combos, like whit wesker or zero) he have double jump and flight, think all the posibilities.

man, I thought i was getting the hang of the game mechanics in MVC 3 and yet I never would have thought to use the smartbomb to pop a prone enemy up and into the Proton Cannon, I bet you could pop him up and connect the Armored Avenger.

I don't know what Tony's bnb is but what I always do is c.L > c.M > s.H > repulsor blast L > c.M > s.H > S > j.M > j.M > j.H > double jump > j.M > j.H > j.S > (after landing) smart bomb H > proton cannon. It does about 600 damage and it's not that hard once you get the hang of it. You can also just skip the repulsor blast and you'll still get about 520 damage. Also for his assist smart bomb is helpful to give characters OTG options. I use Spidey(ball), Iron Man(smart bomb), and Maggie(disruptor)

@changeofpace405 While personally I think he's got some good stuff (way better than in mvc2 at least) it's still too early to tell. Esp in this game where everyone has 100% combos, at least with xfactor. But IM has such a strong tri-dash and pokes that I find it doubtful he'll end up mid-tier.

Speed isn't the only factor either -- Sentinel is slow but hyper armor makes him a beast. IM is a little more suited towards midrange so he's not exactly just a slower storm/mags

@changeofpace405 wolverine and iron man have completely different jobs..mvc3 is a team oriented game. It's not like iron man is replaceable by wolverine because they do different things. Iron man is definitely faster than wolverine, btw. I can keep wolverine out much easier than iron man and if you think his slide/drill claw is any match for iron man's tridash you haven't played a great Tony

by watching all of IM's gameplays in this game he still a BEAST. Iron Man was better in MvC2, but there is no way that he sucks in this game.. btw, this is coming from a guy who hasn't owned or played MvC3 yet.
