hm, just wondered the scroll wheel does not feature the free scroll function of the mx/vs mice with the heavy metallic wheel? this would be the ultimate upgrade ...
Is there any chance that Logitech will come with an upgraded version of the Marble with Unifying receiver and dedicated scroll?
Using a mouse at work I enjoy using trackpad and trackball at home but the thumb variety is not for me. I would love if Logitech would come out with their answer to the Kensington Slimblade because Logitechs drivers are the best IMHO. That is the upgraded Marble with rotate the ball to scroll. And preferably also more buttons for vertical, zoom back/forth etc.
My old Trackman Marble Wheel is starting to show its age, but I know I will loose that tiny transmitter. I also think having a mouse in two separate pieces is very inconvenient, especially since a trackball has absolutely no reason to be wireless.
our great scroll wheel?? are you joking?? hahahahaha, that scroll wheel is the worst i experienced, and this even is from a expensive product. What a disgrace, that scroll wheel really ruins the whole mouse, rubbish!
This is a great mouse. I own it and I am amazed at how easy it is to use this track ball. Since you don't have to move the mouse at all it makes gaming a lot easier.
Got mine today. Unlike my Logitech mouse, the scroll wheel does not sideways scroll. Palm rest gets sweaty (humidity 50%, temp 20 degrees C, clean hands). Third button easily lost. Slips easily off my trousers. Made many mods to overcome these design shortcomings.

@gawindapper YES - read many reviews. BUT: Got mine today. Unlike my Logitech mouse, the scroll wheel does not sideways scroll. Palm rest gets sweaty (humidity 50%, temp 20 degrees C, clean hands). I've got the previous, wired version of this, the Trackamn which I love. I can't wait to get my hands on this one. As I work on a laptop it'll be so much better to use wireless one with the nano receiver. I wish it was bluetooth, but well, I guess you can't have everything.
Has Logitech ever considered the fact that most humans have a longer middle finger than index finger? Logitech makes great products, I use the trackman, but my only grouse is that ergonimics had to give way to aesthetics.
Even if it might be a solid product (as we're talking about a logitech product), it looks like the cheapest piece of molten plastic I have ever seen in my life.
@AssholeAwards RUSRS? Trackballs are amazing. The Logitech Trackman has been amazing. I am glad that this has come out and will be picking mine up today.
I used to be a finger-trackball user (I had the first Logitech trackball released). Do you think a thumb-trackball is better? I want to replace my current mouse because of wrist pain, but I wouldn't want to also replace my pain with a thumb related one.
@henriko95 Yes. The Logitech Wireless Trackball M570 uses Logitech's Unifying receiver. The receiver delivers secure wireless connectivity at up to 30 feet, and is small enough to be left in a laptop's USB port when you're on the go.
You can store the Logitech Wireless Trackball M570's reciever in a special slot in the battery compartment, and take it with you.

does the scroll wheel have side scroll ability like on the M305? if not, are there any trackerballs of the same style that do?

Is there a wired usb version?

What about for gaming?

@combatdstar
Depends on the game. It handles better for me when I play RTSs and I don't need to swing my hand across my desk in a pinch like an idiot.

I am really happy with this product, but I have not obtained it.
One thing I am unhappy is logitech expected the sales too low
though many trackman wheel users and some trackball users had enthusiastically waited.

OMG! I just received mine by FedEx!
Unplugged my corded trackball, plugged it in with downloaded software...My Laptop is so happy, which makes me happy!
Thank you for this new design.

Everyone who had a trackball once will not buy a trackball anymore, but good presentation (just the wrong company and product).

Is it easy to carry in, say, a laptop bag?
Please respond!

@logitech Yes, but how about the mouse itself? It looks rather bulky, if you ask me...
Is the mouse itself easy to carry?
