I love music from the 1920s era. But most of the music i find is all either american or english bands. I'd love to get some old music from other countries, such as Mexico.
I've never listened to this version, I like her voice a lot! Mexico has a lot of traditional beautiful songs, I'm proud of my culture and my native country. Viva México y su cultura! :)
@nubforme41 No it was written in 1882 by Quirino Mendoza y Cortés, it was originally played by Mariachi and ranchero styles. But it has been recorded by many artists including Dusolina, the melody has been adapted to english songs as well.
Tremenda interpretacion! Considerando que el el idioma materno de la interprete no es el español! Thanks for this present, it's a superb interpretation!
me gusta.....her voice is superb...so clear.and crisp. my mo used to sing this to me. and its getting passed down to my lil sister.shes 4 and she sings almost the whole thing....thank you thisis trully memory lane
It's the kind of ipod that grows in value... I keep coming back to its simplicity and feel that I am learning about a great rural loneliness so sweetly expressed in the Sorprano.... Thanks again!
Oczywiście, że z tego! A ja jeszcze pamiętam z lat pięćdziesiątych inne słowa: "Aaa, jaaa, jaaa, jaaaj! Spędzajcie z gór swe stada/ mój ojciec tam kowbojem był/ miał syna koniokrada..." Dalej niestety nie powtórzę. I nie wiem też, kto to śpiewał.
Yes D., this version is a true artwork. Dusolina - perhaps because of the fact, she never sung in La Scala - is somewhat forgotten in Europe nowadays. But she was such wonderful singer! One day I will upload her with Marcel Wittrisch in a love-duett from "Madama Butterfly". Perfetto!
@240252 I believe she did sing at La Scala. look up Aureliano Pertile "Pur ti riveggo" here on Youtube. She also sang Alice in Falstaff under Toscanini in Salzburg.
Hi Grzegorz - this is a super upload. Her voice is smooth like honey - the artwork - exquisite! My mother used to sign it to me. Thanks for the memories!!!
Hi Lana, I like your metaphores! I remember you compared Rosetta Ferlito's voice to a peach liqueur. Here we have some honey in Dusolina's voice:-)) Yes, it's really so!

it sounds the best when mariachi's are doing it...
I appreciate the effort, but it's like an orchestra trying to class up "I'm a little teapot"
just like sequels in movies... the original sounds the best (however, it won't sound the best to the latest generation).
leave the mexican music to the mexicans...

Beautiful voice. A nice change from the usual mariachi-style versions. Great bright pictures of Mexico and of Mexicanos.
