@Filledelanuit897 photography from jean baptiste (django) reinhardt take in 1936 belleville in paris before fire accident where hand of django loose 2 feets :°)
I was very fortunate because I heard this music from the age of five and by the age of ten I was really beginning to 'hear' it ...My father had the 78s and the 10 inch L.Ps. It sounds great to me now, many years on and both Django and his clarinet players have been a major influence on my own music.
Thanks for posting this. I'm going to search for Blues For Ike now....
@013jc I like your spirit....... music needs more of this... people that stand firm in their beliefs... i dont care if we disagree... as long as we both believe in what we do strongly.... not because of some trend.... but anyways... i was just trying to say that... Hendrix owes alot to django... because of bb king... bb king was a great django admirer.... i do believe to some extent about your thoughts on jazz.... i just like rock more because... the distance between dynamics in rock is greater
@philipthedude no.... they share a similar intensity, aggressivity, and sense of precision and articulation......listne to Jimi Hendrix live in 1968.... rehouse...... its amazing... im making an indirect comparison....hope u understand!i love django..... bb king did too.....
me encanta!!!

was this a session with a part of Ellington band while in states?
15111936 1 year ago
@15111936 no, recorded in France (Paris I think) around 1942. Probably Hubert Rostaing on clarinet, Pierre Fouad on drums... great session
