  • @urashimakeitaro22 fucking dickhead you didn't get the point. they were parading for media distortion not for free or not free Tibet. plus tibet has always been a part of China. check Google map and wikipedia. In addition, if you are really care about Tibet, you shouldn't have said that, Tibet would suffer even more without China's Supplies. do you research.

  • I do agree that the CBC is a joke. It is unfair towards dissent and it is a mouthpiece for the Liberal Party.

  • I'm very mixed about this issue I wish Tibetans were free to practise their religion and China's human rights record would change but I also know Tibet has vastly improved in basically everything since China regained rule. I also agree with one China I just think changes need to be made which is happening at quite a fast pace. Changes need to be made everywhere in the world.I agree there is media bias. Not specifically over Tibet but if a story about the Olympics comes on it's always negative.

  • GTFO

    stop polluting Vancouver

  • Where were these anti riot protesters in 2005 when Japanese shops were burning in Chinese cities? Before they accuse other's of being bias they should look at them selfs.

This is bad side of nationalism China is better without.

  • "Before they accuse other's of being bias they should look at them selfs. "

Well gee, I don't think the award for biggest hypocrite of the century goes to China now do you? No, no, I thin China ranks extremely low on the hypocritical ladder considering some of the other countries out there that even over Tibet turn a blind eye to their own affairs while dictating to China this and that.

  • China is a nationalistic and proud country. I say Canada is as well.

Chinese protesters are there to protest against biased western media reports. Most western media are pro-tibetans. It is an example of discrimination against China.

  • "No Riots and No Media Bias!" Is the title of the video. So your half right. Some of those banners say no to riots. The bias of these protesters is what I'm pointing at with my comment.

Is being pro Tibetan a bad thing? Maybe in China. In the rest of the world most people believe a people have the right to choose who their rulers are.

  • "People have the right to choose who their rulers are"...well, I assume that would apply to Iraqis and Afghanis as well right?

But guess what happened there? Hmm...

  • Yes. Don't you think so?

  • Yes, I do think so. Obviously, that's why we invaded those countries and installed governments there which the people did not elect.

  • Support 08 Olympics All the way!

Tibet was a part of China since 700 years ago, even before North America was even found on the map! Let me ask, what makes U.S/Canadian government/media think they can seperate it from China?

From what i'm seeing from the comments of the videos here, I see lots of bias that was caused by CNN and Global, this is sad...

Too many people with low IQs.

  • As a Canadian, I feel such irony when we criticize other nation's human rights records. Look at what we're doing to the First Nations people. Look at our government's role in the whole Guantanamo affair. BTW, many First Nations people don't even participate in the census because they hold that they are not Canadians. Agree? Quebecers want their independent country too, but we rushed out a clarity act. What made you guys think we like separatists?

  • Hilary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, please watch the moving video on Tibet under Dalai Lama. I cried during the last 30 seconds.

    youtube*.com/watch?v=mS2M0sxuIlo

    just remove the *

  • We SUPPORT from INDONESIA

  • Don't mix sports with politics! Beijing 2008 shall be great!! (:

  • Why do the West *free* media blackout and distort such protests. If you respect speech freedom, let's talk about these. For example, one Canadian CBC reporter claimed the protesting Canadian citizens Chinese students who are ordered to do so by the "Chinese commy government". His insulting false-explanation is widely broadcasted in Canada which lead to large scale protests blacked out by BBC, CBC, ABC, etc.

  • not being allowed to protest against the government is functionally equivalent to forcing people to protest for it.

china may be an upcoming economic superpower. but its a moral midget. THAT is the problem.

  • i'm not sure that china and tibet love each other so. clearly we wouldn't have tibetans asking for independence so relentlessly for several decades now if that were true, would it? clearly they think they're better off without the chinese, and so should be allowed to go on their own.

  • Yes I think I agree with you. If China really loves Tibet, then why don't they let Tibet choose whether to be part of China or to be an independent country?

  • !!!YOU BLIND EYES you haven's been to tibet,i guess. so stop talking you stupid opinion. i wonder too why don't you free quebec??? why you just free it first???

  • I can't understand why Canada has to be so involved with Tibet! We have aboriginals in Saskatchewan who are being oppressed as we speak. Why is it so easy for us to turn the away from the poverty that faces us in our own nation. Forget Tibet!!! Free Aboriginals from Western Oppression!!!!

  • The Unholy Lama is just another Osama terrorist instigating violence across the world...he is as peaceful as Osama too...the only difference is the Lama is paid by the CIA.....to destabilize China.

  • ***Before you Comment***

Here's the REAL TRUTH of Tibet. Study history, not the media.

    watch video

    watch?v=Xsoc4-QnplY

  • remeber, next time, never use anything made in china, or, u are idiot.

keep eyes on uself, never never use or eat anything made in china.

    understand? idiot...

  • 媒体上时常有不准确的报道。

    提出外国媒体的错误也不可正当化中共犯的西藏大屠杀。

    爱国人士说不的对象不是外国媒体。

    2008/April/03

Another 8 or 15 Tibetan were killed by China.

    Chinese friends!! Stop your government!!!

  • I admire Lincon, the greatest former US president because he abolished the slave system in Southern America. Lincon is always the hero in my heart.

Those Chinese who abolished the slave system in Tibet in 1950s are heros either!

The abolishing of the old Tibet slave system was the very reason that Dalai Lama was exiled.

  • If you allowed yourself to explore deeper, you would probably find a very disturbing thing. Deep inside, the chinese are fighting against the unipolar world, the world dictated by western scripts. West has the need to dehumanize non-western worlds to feel good. Just years ago you created Islamophobia, now you created Sinophobia. I wonder what next in the western hysteria list.

  • giovaniceva, you are right, but it works both ways. Are you saying the Chinese government doesn't continue to, for example, demonize the Japanese? Are you saying that the Chinese government does not demonize western countries in order to create a greater sense of nationalism in China? The Chinese government is hardly immune from this kind of behaviour. China has also bought into Islamophobia in order to demonize the Uighurs as terrorists.

What you say is partially true

  • There are no reasons for Chinese gov to demonize western countries in general. Yes, she reacted boldly to any offensive marks from western leaders, other than that, she reached out to the world. Chinese students learn much more western culture than the other way around. They try hard to understand west. This's also true for the Japanese. Yes, there was an historical animosity, but other than squabbling on some historical facts, there are no systematic demonization of the japanese.

  • No Media Bias!!!!

    Tell so to your governemnt.

Oh. You have to say, "No Media Control!!!" instead.

  • 你在加拿大有自由和人权

    西藏人没有自由

  • Why are Chinese people giving mutikonka thumbs down? This can hardly be disputed.

  • In Canada you are free to protest and to surf the web. In China you can not use Youtube or see websites like the BBC. I prefer freedom.

  • Very good video!!!!!!!!!

  • Really? This protest is about media bias? Great so these people will fight media bias about First Nations, the working poor, homelessness and corporate blundering in Canada? Lets see them prove it.

  • xiaomin888,

you may as well ask them to fight every kind of injustices in the world. Why don't you also ask the everpresent tibetan supporters to fight all kind of things you said?

Good that the chinese residents around Vancouver stand and speak up for a while. They do need more assertive training.

  • Tibetans are fighting against injustice in their home land. Chinese are fighting because they are embassassed about bad publicity for their government. Its about loss of face.

  • Agreed. Their face looks even worst since this protest is exposing how the Chinese people are. They gang up to support China or themselves without any sense of justice, right and wrong. If it's chinese, it's OK.

  • I agree. They have made themselves look SO BAD. Not like individuals at all.

  • Yes, because Hitler and Stalin controlled the world... Stupid.

  • coongnoo chó đẻ, ngu như lừa

You should thank us instead; we civilized you. Before, you even did not know how to eat with chopsticks and were walking bare-foot! (Just like your "moi")

btw, your "girls' R not too bad in bed but not as sophisticated and distinguished like ours! So, don't worry too much, we are looking for much better than VN women.

  • 为什么日本东京没有人组织啊。

  • 是啊,呼吁世界各地华人组织一下

  • haha ~~~shame on you , ask your president Bush don't come to the olympic opening ceremony in Beijing first....

  • Lol, you know, saying "Go back to where you come from" is considered one of the worst racist comments, and I can sue you for that. We are Canadians, and we have to right to speak our mind and protest injustice as we see fit.

    爱我中华!

  • See how violent those Tibet protests occurring around the world, and see this. Who should feel shameful?

  • from the UK, huh? Well, I hope the Chinese are as gentle and loving with the Tibetans as the Europeans were with the Native Americans and Africans in the 15th to 19th centuries.

  • Is your justification for destroying Tibetan culture, "well the Europeans did it, so we can do it"? Aren't we supposed to learn from our mistakes?

  • tibetan culture = slavery

  • Part of the so called "Tibetan Culture" was european made shangrilla utopia, which is embaraced by Dalai Lama and his elites to match their western supporters' desire. You may as well put this kind culture in the Disneyland. The real culture should be alive, constantly in flux, interactive and creative. The real tibetan culture is not contained inside the wall of the monastries or temples, but is growing progressively among all common people in Tibet.

  • Shangri-la on one side, slave-culture on the other. The truth, as usual, when you take away the political rhetoric, lies somewhere in the middle.

  • Even if your conjecture of "the truth lies somewhere in the middle" is true, how could this vaque fact be used as the basis for out-of-proportioned orchetrated anti-Chinese hysteria in western countries? You should be aware of the underlying xenophobia at work, and the inherent "witch-hunting syndrome" disorder of western society.
