The French quarter was one of the few areas that had flooding that was below sea level. It was a faulty design that was the cause. And funny that no one thinks we should care how we maintain our levees. Watch NY flood in Earl for the same reason. XP

i know this does not compare to catrina but when england had a flood about 3;4 years ago it washed a hole vilage away houses cars bridges every thing it took them about 2 years to compleatly get it back to some sort of normality and that was just a vilage not a whole city these things take time i know there draging there heals a bit but be pationt at it will get back to normal if not better and i dont think its a race thing at all theres always been black politishions good luck

i lived in gulfport ms when katrina came onshore and it was scary but at the same time kind of amusing because you see wheel barrels flying in the air high as light poles and chimneys falling off houses but at the same time it was scary because of the wicked noise the wind made... so a hurricane can actually be a fun thing to witness

We had gusts up to 110 miles per hour hit the house and shake it so bad we thought it was going to cave in on our heads. There was something unnatural about Katrina. I dont think anybody on the Mississippi Gulf Coast thought the water would get as high as it did or they would of took more stuff with them when they left. My mom in law was 2 miles inland in Pascagoula,MS and she got 5 ft of water.I am happy to say she rebuilt and is back in her house already.
