I've been watching all of TJs videos from the oldest to the newest and I love these interviews but I gotta say, listening to this guy for nearly 3 hours in one night is a little much. Still love it.

That's one reason why I think it's possible that we may one day colonize space. Our technology and knowledge is improving rapidly. Ideas that we may think are impossible today could happen tomorrow!

@AlphaWolf500 Why would we want to colonize the moon? It has to low gravity for long term stay and it can't be terraformed. It'd only be good for solar power plants (witch will be outdated soon with fusion power) and possibly mining. Mars on the other hand got decent enough gravity, it can be terraformed and it most likely have many of the natural resourced we have here on terra.
@7thwiew True but it is the closest to us and it takes a while to get to mars. But my guess would be that we would have small luxoury houses with artificial gravity. Not full out colonization but Popscience did mention it.
@AlphaWolf500 That might be true sometime in the future but (afaik) we have no clue how to generate any useful ammounts of gravity on a planet or moon surface. In space it can be done either by constantly accelerating/decelerating or by having a rotating ring around the craft. And using magnets would be absurdly expensive not to mention dangerous :P Though if we did invent proper artificial gravity then that'd be awesome since it probably would enable FTL travel for us ;)
Well, the main problem with using satelites to collect solar energy is the huge amount of clutter in orbit. The most efficient way to collect Solar energy and and still reduce orbital clutter is to build Orbital Elevators, which are actually being developed experimentally, this will allow us to not only collect Solar Energy more efficiently, but also allow for our first ports and would be a good starting off point for expansion...

This was an amazing video. However in my opinion, the most truthful and progessive words that came out Howard this video was at 17:28. Most people are unaware of the scientific advancements towards trying to halt, or reverse the aging process. It has made a lot of ground, but this important subject still needs more attention and needs to be discussed more.

Howard Bloom is awesome and he really has a good ability to make you think realistically about the world and the situation around us, but he's wrong about the health care bill in its relations to previous presidents. Teddy Roosevelt, FDR and Truman all wanted national health care true, but they didn't want some system that fed private insurance companies, not at all. The system we are going to have was tried in Mass. and it wasn't universal and it hurt the economy of the state badly.
