  • Not to be confused with anecdote. Please!

  • The meaning, you chose, doesn't match the example. Cold is not a poison.

It should be "Antidote is an agent that relieves or counteracts"

  • English sucks. But this video should help most.

  • You suck.

  • LAUGHTER

    SLAUGHTER

Explain why these words sound so diffrent.

Now explain why I can't spell this in this format: Lafter

  • Laugh sounds different because it doesn't have a T after it. Laughter is a derivative of laugh. Still, that doesn't explain draught. You can find inconsistent words, but not everyone thinks that sucks. Many spellings have historical reasons. Other popular languages like French spell words a given way for historical reasons. The only drawback to a less phonetic language is you have to spend some time reading to spell. But it makes the language more interesting and cool.

  • Thats right. I miss that. Anyway, it's still off. My point is English uses the alphabet but the sounds are so twisted it destroys the porpuse of spelling. (german may have the same issue) . Notive the sound of "O" in these words.

Dog, do, so, go.... so messy.

  • But you should also remember the pronunciation is syllable based, not letter to letter, so dog shouldn't even be compared to those other words. Actually English used to be pronounced letter to letter and was entirely phonetic, and it was because of the influence of French that it began to get strange.

  • hi.you are doing a great job to teach english.keep it up..umer
