Mickey and Oswald are brothers in a way because they're both created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Oswald was created first and Mickey was created a year after. Oswald is one year older than Mickey. Disney and Iwerks created Mickey because they lost all legal rights to Oswald.
