@MrNadhazi 60fps is very life-like and fluid... you really need to experience it, I turned one of my favorite DVDs into a 60fps MKV file with the best software available on my laptop (took my laptop hours to render it... not a good idea to render video on laptops) and I really could not believe how lifelike it looked, I was blown away. The only thing that sucks though is that these 60fps videos I render don't look as incredible on the TV as they do on my computer.
@YSKite No you dont understand what i mean. Any video recorded in mordern times is recorded at 24 fps. That means when you try to watch a 24 fps movie with 60 fps it would display the same picture 2 times and one of the pictures would sit still for a milisecond. which literally means that you wouldnt get as fluid a picture as if you were watching with 24 fps.
Can it play 1080p WMV 30-60FPS ? I luv my modded WDTV Live Plus but it cannot play this file... I should probably just build a small HTPC. Format/ Windows Media/ WMV Res/ 1920x1080 Overall bit rate/ 12.2 Mbps Maximum Overall bit rate/ 12.1 Mbps ID/ 2 Format/ VC-1 Codec ID/ WVC1 Codec ID/Hint/ Microsoft Bit rate/ 12.0 Mbps Frame rate/ 29.970 fps Bit depth/ 16 bits Compression mode/ Lossy Bits/(Pixel*Frame)/ 0.193
How would I connect a surround sound system to the Boxee Box?
I'm about to buy a Blu-Ray 3D Ready player with a surround sount set, and I'm really considering the Boxee Box. Would I be able to connect the S/PDIF from the BB to the S/PDIF on the Blu-Ray player, and then be able to have surround sound?
SinJupiter... Thanks so much for your review, I am going to get mine today, I did the same back then with the ATV Gen1, I have one too... Take care man!
Nice review Buddy!......Got a question for you mate! I have downloaded many movies from torrents..and i have a Iomega Screenplay Director. I have issues with some movies where it plays on 1080i but sound keeps flickering. isit because my media player cannot take higher sound bitrates? or isit to do with the codes? i am planning to shift to this boxee.....but it has no storage like my iomega does(1TB)
Is it possibile to use Boxee or is there an App just to surf net. Say via your PC is it possible to use your web connect and view the PC screen content .
nice review, thanks for the info. I'm gonna buy it soon, the xbox 360 just isn't cutting it for mkv's because of the conversion process that you have to go through. I've been looking for something like this.
so will this recognise my 1TB WD Powered External HDD?

you didn't need a boxee to play MKV files, you could have just used VLC media player
