What the mothers say and what they are doing are contradictory.
It's not okay for kids to be like that, I wouldn't buy them the makeup, let them wear it, get it professionally done, etc! Not even on big occasions, let alone "good grades." And it's not okay to take it lightly when your kid says "I want to be a pole dancer because it gets the boys easier" at 9! Ground her! Show her its NOT okay. don't let her advertise it on TV, JEEZ!

when i was younger i didnt really remember picking outfits out i actually despised shopping (unless it was for toys) and i hated the idea of wearing make up because i always had to wear it for dance and it just felt so uncomfortable.

i agree with chandlerlover01. im also 14 and i definitely dont try to look sexy and wear slutty outfits with high-heel shoes. she has a very wrong idea on what teenagers are which probably come most from the media showing all these teenagers being unrealistic. when i was 8 i barely even spared a thought as to what i was wearing or how thin i was - i was playing with my friends.

Ok, this is just getting silly. I'm 14 and I wear T-shirts, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. I don't know, much less care what the fashion is right now I just wear what I think in comfy and pull my hair back out of the way. That is how I go to school, that is how I go to the store, that is how I go to do anything. I don't try to look sexy and I don't think they should either. Letting your 8-year-old dress like a slut and wear clown make-up isn't going to wow anybody but molesters.
