CHI flat irons are really good, but people need to be careful about the authenticity. You cant get real CHI flat irons at places like target, walmart, costco, or online (accept for trusted sites like folica or BeautyChoice, those would be the only online places i would buy a CHI or GHD) or if the price is under $100. I got mine from a beauty supply and it was $170, so you can see why something fake might be priced too good to be true. There are articles online about this, read up before buying .

@remistarlight yours might be fake, and the one on amazon almost positively was. there is only about a 5% chance it was real(the one for $70). mine costed $170, so you can see the difference. Also if it was manufactured in china (and places around there) or the manufacturer is something like "Chi Systems Inc." it is DEFINANTLY a fake, because the real company is called Farouk Systems Inc. or something like that, and they stopped manufacturing in china because they were not happy with the quality

I have the exact same CHI. I've been using it for about 4 years and it broke about a month ago. Luckily, my brother fixed it by using some type of glue that can withstand heat. The only thing I don't like about the CHI is that you are not able to control the heat settings.

Well just a tip (the wider the flat iron the harder it is to do this stuff) If you want to curl you can try starting at the root with the iron then as you pull it down totally twist the iron almost like a curling iron and that should work, or if your hair is hard to curl you could spray a TINY amount of hairspray in your hair but only a little so you don't have wet hair, that could be damaging. Hope this helps! =]

When you get out the shower IF you blow dry( I have curly hair and rarely blow dry since it causes frizzies) put whatever serum or heat spray you use in your hair then run a round brush through your hair as you blow dry on low heat pulling your roots taunt w/brush. If you don't blow dry your hair after you shower put a gel/mouse or cream in your hair then try pulling your hair into a loose bun in the middle of your head or a braid then let it almost dry before taking it down. Hope this helps! =]
