  • Far too quiet! But sound good

  • True. Have you rung here?

  • that's highly debateable!! some of the finest bells are Gillett & Johnston not to mention some particularly fine Whitechapel bells from the middle of the 20th century! Taylors just seemed to churn them out - some stunning bells yes but they are also the ones most often overhyped.

  • Yes, you are quite right! It seems that their quality do vary, especially in terms of tower bells hung for change ringing. I've never heard a Taylors peal be out of tune, even by a small amount.

  • @timmeh1507 You are absolutely right, I totally agree with you -- WELL SAID!!

  • We have a G&T tenor of 64-0-0 and a treble of 0-0-12 How about that then? The tenor is remarkably easy to ring.

  • Very nice indeedy... but sound a bit quiet in the ringing chamber!

  • Yes they are a bit mushy.

    Have you rung here?

  • No I haven't but you can tell they're a bit quiet, I like to hear what I'm ringing, particularly if they are good toned bells, and i find a lot of towers are much too quiet inside!

  • They are lovely when the door is open. I think there is a false ceiling.
