that's highly debateable!! some of the finest bells are Gillett & Johnston not to mention some particularly fine Whitechapel bells from the middle of the 20th century! Taylors just seemed to churn them out - some stunning bells yes but they are also the ones most often overhyped.
Yes, you are quite right! It seems that their quality do vary, especially in terms of tower bells hung for change ringing. I've never heard a Taylors peal be out of tune, even by a small amount.
No I haven't but you can tell they're a bit quiet, I like to hear what I'm ringing, particularly if they are good toned bells, and i find a lot of towers are much too quiet inside!

We have a G&T tenor of 64-0-0 and a treble of 0-0-12 How about that then? The tenor is remarkably easy to ring.
