  • Dammit, haven't you figured out your leaking coolant?

  • where is the park relase on this car?

  • @caraudioowner theres not one you just put it in gear and it releases, retarded setup, i know

  • @ashho56 well, i guess i will never relase it :( its a nice caddie to.

  • @caraudioowner At the base of the pedal (well, upwards from the pedal), there should be a little piece of metal you can see that should look like it's made to pivot independently of the pedal assembly (pad and stalk, you know). That's the manual release. You pull it towards the seat and that should release the brake. It'll make a pretty solid little thunk and the pedal will suddenly jerk a bit, but that's normal.

  • @ashho56 Not entirely true. That is the vacuum release you're talking about. That's the way you would typically disengage it. But there is a release at the base of the assembly. The owner's manual should have a diagram somewhere. It's a little pivoting piece of metal that releases the brake when you pull it back. Feel upwards from the pedal, I believe it's on the right side. Looking down there should help.

  • Hey man did you ever figure out what was wrong with your car. I'm not a mechanic but can work on a car, I just can't diagnose problems Thanks

  • just like mine, warped heads, take them off and get them resurfaced, pretty cheap

  • My 4.9l has a head or head gasket leak I know exactly which cylender is the problem but it never acts like its leaking it just stops firing that cylender and the oil has never been milky

  • Your cooling system is proly not filled all the way, when you said you added some coolant i assume you filled it to top, then the next time you ran it, it warmed up and the coolant got sucked by the water pump to places where there was air pockets, and now you just have another air pocket. there is a procedure to filling coolant, you cant just poor it in and let it go, there will still be air. Dont run it unmonitored without the cap on because the second the thermostat opens you get overflow

  • Probably nothing severe. A leaking headgasket will show other symptoms, like compression (bubbles or "false boiling") in the coolant, and overheating due to air bubbles in the system.

On these engines, coolant leaking by the intake gasket will put the coolant straight into the sump, creating the milky oil that you aren't seeing.

You probably have an external leak somewhere, like the water pump. Park the car over some cardboard for a few days and watch for coolant drops on the cardboard.

  • probably just the condensation maybe a leaky radiator too

  • Ok right off the bat how cold was it when you made that vid? All cars will steam from the exhaust for some time when real cold out. But if you are loosing coolant than that is a sign something is going on. Do you know how to do a compression test? If so do one on the car. Anny big time reduction in compression may suggest a head gasket prob. Do not jump top conclusions that it is cracked block ore sometrhinng like that. Start small. Also if you pull pluggs and one is wet there is a problem.

  • @bmaiceman it was below freezing when i made the video... but water was dripping out the exhaust... but im pretty sure it was just condensation in the exhaust.

  • blown headgasket for sure i think
