  • I wonder if there are any video's out there showing how to build a tripod....then the fool could use both hands....LOL

  • Nice Idea, but I used the same for my cannon and........well.... it was to weak and hard to use so i went and bought a large piezoelectric BBQ replacement igniter for $15 and it was more than 5 times more powerful.

  • OOOOO the bottom!

  • can anyone tell me how a battery igniter works? i am making a potato rifle and i have it all made except it doesn't make a spark. i have seen battery grill lighters and they make a constant spark which it what i need. i just don't have a battery grill igniter available for use, so i need to make my own...

  • i just threw it at the wall and it opened

  • get a top notch BBQ grill igniter. will last a long long time.

  • @JunkMan16 where can you get one that'll last a long time, cause in my supersonic potato cannon, it'll last like 100 shots and then break

  • They break way to easy

  • ive tried to use these for combustion spud guns. These things are a BITCH to push down and are not practical at all

  • your video would have been half as long if you would have just mounted your camera

  • i got it at the dollar store for a dollar fifty lol

  • why must we humans always find ways to utilize such great technologies for weapons....don't we have enough weapons in the world?

  • @sypha0x humans are the only ones with the technology to make weapons.. why not make some?

  • Knife can be used as a weapon, car, chair etc. What a retard.

  • I guess you won an award for letting me know something I ain't already know

  • @sypha0x On the other hand I understand your point, but on the other, our survival might depend on the invention and production of new and better weapons. Also, it could be possible to invent and utilize (in greater extent than is done now) non-lethal weapons, even in the army and reduce the loss of life...

  • a good idea you can do for a little mini pellet gun... is hook up the lighter to release fuel into the chamber then have another trigger hooked to the piezo fill up the chamber then press the trigger

  • is there any video at all here on youtube that shows how that crystal actually looks like, as a crystal?

  • using one hand to demonstrate your tip was tedious at best.

  • wow, how many times did it take you to pop that thing off with 1 hand? lol

  • Only problem with those is that they don't have enough energy to be used over a longer wire if you want to fire from a safe distance.

  • no du it is for a potoato gun not 50ft away and if you do that just go to a hobby shop and pick up a rocket ignitor

  • well i put a bbq lighter into the chamber of my potato cannon and it still doesnt work all the time. You have to use a mechanism that has the appropriate amounts of air and propane or deodorant.

  • use Off bug spay and well for my cannon which has a combustion chamber of 1.5 ft x 3 in a perfect mix is about 1-2 seconds of it, hope this helps

  • It takes you 5 minutes to extract the piezoelectric igniter from a lighter?

  • do you not use bedsheets?

  • Its Not Pie-eezo its peezo

  • He sounds like Mr. Rogers, Doesn't he?

  • he definitely does haha

  • On my metered propane gun, I use a tazer. It produces a fat beefy spark every time. I've never had a misfire.

  • get a tripod

  • I dont think this would be good for bigger guns. The spark is a bit small.

  • hes pretty crafty with one hand

  • @cadetwolf1234 it is possible that he blew his other hand of via explosives??

  • @jocabeana he is holding the camera...

  • holy shit the shocks from these things dont hurt, but they do scare the shit out of you when it hits you. and also makes my muscles hurt after like 5 shocks of trying to find out where the spark was coming from

  • does this even work for the bigger potato guns? you know, the 4 feet long ones

  • ya, no matter what size the spark is, as long as you have the sparker securely in the combustion chamber with like some axe body spray or hair spray for the ignitor then it should work fine.

  • I took apart one of these and used it for a spud gun, but they're not really reliable, especially if you plan on using hair spray or a wet aerosol as your fuel. The voltage of these little things are too low and that poses a problem when your spark contacts get wet from your fuel.

  • freakin morron... you think i couldnt figure this out on my own??!

  • And yet your watching videos on youtube trying to find out how.

  • @GoodOlVladwick hey hey now. you know how i got here? i googled for ""battery powered spud gun igniter".i don't see no batteries around. so sorry but people get to see all sorts of videos on youtube by accident.

  • thx

  • These work just as good, if not better than the mechanical grill lighters.

In my experience, the grill lighters do not last very long at all, and get very expensive after replacing a few.

  • small, shocks, my mind being what it is immediately wandered to tazer, so i made one... no one trusts me anymore

  • i tried to use one of them for my potato gun and it didnt work, i got a igniter for a old oven instead but that still doesnt work every time

  • you may be using to much hair spray (or different ignition source)

  • if you don't mind spending more money, you can buy a replacement piezoelectric igniter for a gas fireplace. they're about 4 inches long and about 1/2 inch in diameter. They produce a good sized spark as well. They also usually have threaded bodies so you can mount them into the back cap of a potato cannon.

  • that's pretty cool. although I prefer the disposable camera ignition approach for spud guns. if you goto a photography shop that processes films, they will give you a disposable camera or two for free because they just throw them away after they take the film out of it. you can pretty much make a tazer gun out of them they are that powerful. check out the vids of my spud gun, it uses a disposable camera.

  • @CrazyFretz I found that out the hard way when I tried to take a disposable camera apart for fun. Shocked the hell out of me...

  • those igniters are also good for testing spark plugs.
